1그때 수아 사람 빌닷이 말하였다.
2“네가 언제나 말문을 닫겠느냐? 좀더 지각 있는 말을 하여라. 그러면 우리가 대답하겠다.
3네가 무엇 때문에 우리를 짐승처럼 어리석게 여기느냐?
4네가 분을 못 이겨 네 옷을 찢는다고 해서 이것이 땅을 흔들어 바위를 그 자리에서 옮기겠느냐?
5“악인의 빛은 꺼지고 그 불꽃은 타오르지 않을 것이며
6그의 집안에는 등불이 꺼지고 온통 어두움만 있을 것이다.
7악인은 힘찬 걸음걸이도 맥이 풀리고 자기가 꾸민 꾀에 자기가 빠질 것이며
8그는 제발로 그물에 들어가 발이 걸리고
9발뒤꿈치가 덫에 치여 잡힐 것이다.
10땅에는 그를 잡아 묶을 올가미가 숨겨져 있으며 그의 길에는 함정이 기다리고 있고
11무서운 일들이 사방에서 그를 놀라게 하며 그림자처럼 그를 따라다닐 것이다.
12“악인은 굶주림에 시달려 그 힘이 빠지고 재앙이 그 곁에서 기다릴 것이며
13질병이 그의 피부를 좀먹고 그의 팔다리를 삼킬 것이다.
14그는 안전하게 살던 자기 집에서 뽑혀 무서운 죽음의 사자에게 끌려갈 것이니
15그 집은 유황을 뿌려 소독을 한 다음에 다른 사람이 살게 될 것이며
16아래에서는 그의 뿌리가 마르고 위에서는 그의 가지가 시들 것이다.
17그에 대한 모든 기억은 땅에서 사라질 것이며 그의 이름을 기억하는 자가 아무도 없을 것이다.
18그는 세상에서 추방되어 빛의 세계에서 흑암의 세계로 쫓겨갈 것이며
19그에게는 유가족도 없고 후손도 없을 것이다.
20동서 사방에서 그의 소식을 듣는 사람들이 다 무서워서 떨며 놀랄 것이니
21이것이 바로 하나님을 알지 못하는 자들의 운명이다.”
1Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said, 2How long will it be ere ye make an end of words? mark, and afterwards we will speak. 3Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed vile in your sight? 4He teareth himself in his anger: shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of his place?18.4 himself: Heb. his soul
5Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine. 6The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his candle shall be put out with him.18.6 candle: or, lamp 7The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down. 8For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon a snare. 9The gin shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him. 10The snare is laid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.18.10 laid: Heb. hidden
11Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and shall drive him to his feet.18.11 drive: Heb. scatter 12His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side. 13It shall devour the strength of his skin: even the firstborn of death shall devour his strength.18.13 strength: Heb. bars 14His confidence shall be rooted out of his tabernacle, and it shall bring him to the king of terrors. 15It shall dwell in his tabernacle, because it is none of his: brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation. 16His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off. 17His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the street. 18He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.18.18 He…: Heb.
