유다의 자손들
1야곱의 열두 아들은 르우벤, 시므온, 레위, 유다, 잇사갈, 스불론,
2단, 요셉, 베냐민, 납달리, 갓, 아셀이었다.
3유다의 아들은 엘, 오난, 셀라였으며 이들은 가나안 사람 수아의 딸에게서 난 자들이었다. 그러나 맏아들 엘은 사람이 너무 악하였기 때문에 여호와께서 그를 죽이셨다.
4그리고 유다의 며느리 다말이 유다를 통해서 베레스와 세라를 낳았으므로 유다에게는 아들이 모두 다섯이었다.
5베레스의 아들은 헤스론과 하물이며
6세라의 아들은 시므리, 에단, 헤만, 갈골, 다라 모두 다섯 사람이었다.
7그리고 갈미의 아들은 2:7 또는 ‘아갈’아간이었는데 그는 아주 없애 버려야 할 전리품을 감추어 두었다가 이스라엘 백성에게 재앙을 불러일으킨 자였다.
8그리고 에단의 아들은 아사랴였다.
헤스론의 자손들
9헤스론의 아들은 여라므엘, 람, 글루배였으며
10람은 암미나답의 아버지였고 암미나답은 유다 지파의 지도자인 나손의 아버지였다.
11나손은 살마를 낳았고 살마는 보아스를,
12보아스는 오벳을, 오벳은 이새를 낳았다.
13이새에게는 일곱 아들이 있었는데 맏아들 엘리압, 둘째 아비나답, 셋째 시므아,
14넷째 느다넬, 다섯째 랏대,
15여섯째 오셈, 일곱째는 다윗이었다.
16그리고 그들의 누이는 스루야와 아비가일이었으며 스루야의 아들은 아비새, 요압, 아사헬이었고
17아비가일은 이스마엘 사람인 예델과 결혼하여 아마사라는 아들을 낳았다.
18헤스론의 아들 갈렙에게는 아수바와 여리옷이라는 두 아내가 있었으며 아수바가 낳은 아들은 예셀과 소밥과 아르돈이었다.
19그리고 아수바가 죽은 다음에 갈렙은 에브랏과 결혼하였다. 에브랏은 그를 통해 훌이라는 아들을 낳았고
20또 훌은 우리를 낳았으며 우리는 브사렐을 낳았다.
21헤스론은 60세가 되었을 때 길르앗의 아버지인 마길의 딸과 결혼하여 스굽을 낳았고
22스굽은 야일을 낳았으며 야일은 길르앗 땅에서 23개의 성을 다스렸다.
23그러나 그술과 아람이 그에게서 이 성들을 빼앗고 또 그낫과 그 주변 일대의 60개 부락을 빼앗았다. 이들은 모두 길르앗의 아버지인 마길의 후손들이었다.
24헤스론이 죽은 다음에 그의 아들 갈렙이 자기 아버지의 아내였던 에브라다와 결혼하자 에브라다가 아스훌을 낳았으며 그는 후에 드고아의 창설자가 되었다.
25헤스론의 맏아들인 여라므엘의 아들은 맏아들 람과 그리고 브나, 오렌, 오셈, 아히야였다.
26또 여라므엘에겐 아다라라는 다른 아내가 있었는데 그녀는 오남의 어머니였다.
27그리고 람의 아들은 마아스, 야민, 에겔이었으며
28오남의 아들은 삼매와 야다이고 삼매의 아들은 나답과 아비술이었다.
29아비술은 아비하일과 결혼하였으며 그들 사이에는 아반과 몰릿이라는 아들이 태어났다.
30나답의 아들은 셀렛과 압바임이었다. 셀렛은 아들 없이 죽었으나
31압바임에게는 이시라는 아들 하나가 있었다. 그리고 이시의 아들은 세산이며 세산의 아들은 알래였다.
32삼매의 동생 야다에게는 예델과 요나단이라는 두 아들이 있었다. 예델은 자식 없이 죽었으나
33요나단에게는 벨렛과 사사라는 두 아들이 있었다.
34-35그리고 세산에게는 아들이 없고 딸들 만 있었는데 그는 딸 하나를 이집트 사람인 자기 종 야르하에게 주어 아내로 삼게 했으며 그들은 앗대라는 아들을 낳았다.
36그리고 앗대는 나단을 낳았고 나단은 사밧을,
37사밧은 에블랄을, 에블랄은 오벳을,
38오벳은 예후를, 예후는 아사랴를,
39아사랴는 헬레스를, 헬레스는 엘르아사를,
40엘르아사는 시스매를, 시스매는 살룸을,
41살룸은 여가먀를, 여가먀는 엘리사마를 낳았다.
갈렙의 자손들
42여라므엘의 동생인 갈렙의 맏아들은 메사였으며 그는 십을 낳았고 십은 마레사를, 마레사는 헤브론을 낳았다.
43그리고 헤브론의 아들은 고라, 답부아, 레겜, 세마였다.
44세마는 라함을 낳았고 라함은 요르그암을 낳았으며 레겜은 삼매를,
45삼매는 마온을, 마온은 벧 – 술을 낳았다.
46갈렙의 첩인 에바는 하란, 모사, 가세스를 낳았으며 하란에게도 가세스란 아들이 있었다.
47야대의 아들은 레겜, 요담, 게산, 벨렛, 에바, 그리고 사압이었다.
48갈렙의 또 다른 첩인 마아가는 세벨, 디르하나,
49맛만나의 아버지인 사압, 막베나와 기브아의 아버지인 스와를 낳았다. 그리고 갈렙에게는 악사라는 딸이 있었다.
50갈렙의 후손들은 다음과 같다: 갈렙과 그의 아내 에브라다가 낳은 장남 훌의 아들은 기럇 – 여아림의 창설자인 소발,
51베들레헴의 창설자인 살마, 벧 – 가델의 창설자인 하렙이었다.
52기럇 – 여아림의 창설자인 소발은 하로에 사람들과 므누홋 주민 절반의 조상이 되었다.
53그리고 기럇 – 여아림에 살던 씨족들은 이델파, 붓파, 수맛파, 미스라파였는데 이들 씨족에서 소라와 에스다올의 두 집안이 나왔다.
54베들레헴의 창설자인 살마는 느도바 사람, 아다롯 – 벧 – 요압 사람, 마나핫 사람의 절반, 소라 사람들의 조상이었다.
55그리고 야베스에 사는 서기관의 일족은 디랏 사람, 시므앗 사람, 수갓 사람들이었으며 이들은 모두 레갑 가문의 조상인 함맛에게서 나온 겐 씨족이었다.

18¶ And Caleb the son of Hezron begat children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth: her sons are these; Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon. 19And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur. 20And Hur begat Uri, and Uri begat Bezaleel.
21¶ And afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was threescore years old; and she bare him Segub.2.21 married: Heb. took 22And Segub begat Jair, who had three and twenty cities in the land of Gilead. 23And he took Geshur, and Aram, with the towns of Jair, from them, with Kenath, and the towns thereof, even threescore cities. All these belonged to the sons of Machir the father of Gilead. 24And after that Hezron was dead in Caleb-ephratah, then Abiah Hezron’s wife bare him Ashur the father of Tekoa.
25¶ And the sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were, Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, and Ahijah. 26Jerahmeel had also another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. 27And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were, Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker. 28And the sons of Onam were, Shammai, and Jada. And the sons of Shammai; Nadab, and Abishur. 29And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and Molid. 30And the sons of Nadab; Seled, and Appaim: but Seled died without children. 31And the sons of Appaim; Ishi. And the sons of Ishi; Sheshan. And the children of Sheshan; Ahlai. 32And the sons of Jada the brother of Shammai; Jether, and Jonathan: and Jether died without children. 33And the sons of Jonathan; Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.
34¶ Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. And Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha. 35And Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant to wife; and she bare him Attai. 36And Attai begat Nathan, and Nathan begat Zabad, 37And Zabad begat Ephlal, and Ephlal begat Obed, 38And Obed begat Jehu, and Jehu begat Azariah, 39And Azariah begat Helez, and Helez begat Eleasah, 40And Eleasah begat Sisamai, and Sisamai begat Shallum, 41And Shallum begat Jekamiah, and Jekamiah begat Elishama.
42¶ Now the sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were, Mesha his firstborn, which was the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron. 43And the sons of Hebron; Korah, and Tappuah, and Rekem, and Shema. 44And Shema begat Raham, the father of Jorkoam: and Rekem begat Shammai. 45And the son of Shammai was Maon: and Maon was the father of Beth-zur. 46And Ephah, Caleb’s concubine, bare Haran, and Moza, and Gazez: and Haran begat Gazez. 47And the sons of Jahdai; Regem, and Jotham, and Geshan, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph. 48Maachah, Caleb’s concubine, bare Sheber, and Tirhanah. 49She bare also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbenah, and the father of Gibea: and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.
50¶ These were the sons of Caleb the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah; Shobal the father of Kirjath-jearim,2.50 Ephratah: also called, Ephreth 51Salma the father of Beth-lehem, Hareph the father of Beth-gader. 52And Shobal the father of Kirjath-jearim had sons; Haroeh, and half of the Manahethites.2.52 Haroeh: or, Reaiah2.52 half…: or, half of the Menuchites, or, Hatsi-ham-menuchoth 53And the families of Kirjath-jearim; the Ithrites, and the Puhites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zareathites, and the Eshtaulites. 54The sons of Salma; Beth-lehem, and the Netophathites, Ataroth, the house of Joab, and half of the Manahethites, the Zorites.2.54 Ataroth…: or, Atarites, or, crowns of the house of Joab 55And the families of the scribes which dwelt at Jabez; the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, and Suchathites. These are the Kenites that came of Hemath, the father of the house of Rechab.
