1Again the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying, 2Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury. 3Thus saith the LORD; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain. 4Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.8.4 very…: Heb. multitude of days 5And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof. 6Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it be marvellous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvellous in mine eyes? saith the LORD of hosts.8.6 marvellous: or, hard, or, difficult 7Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;8.7 the west…: Heb. the country of the going down of the sun 8And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
9¶ Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built. 10For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither was there any peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbour.8.10 there was…: or, the hire of man became nothing 11But now I will not be unto the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the LORD of hosts. 12For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.8.12 prosperous: Heb. of peace 13And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong. 14For thus saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the LORD of hosts, and I repented not: 15So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.
16¶ These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:8.16 execute…: Heb. judge truth, and the judgment of peace 17And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the LORD.
18¶ And the word of the LORD of hosts came unto me, saying, 19Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.8.19 feasts: or, solemn, or, set times 20Thus saith the LORD of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities: 21And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.8.21 speedily: or, continually: Heb. going8.21 to pray…: Heb. to intreat the face of 22Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.8.22 to pray…: Heb. to intreat the face of 23Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
Господ ће благословити Јерусалим
1Реч Господа над војскама је дошла и поручила:
2„Овако каже Господ над војскама: ’Стало ми је до Сиона, јако ми је стало! За њега ревнујем великом страшћу!’
3Овако каже Господ: ’Вратио сам се на Сион да пребивам усред Јерусалима. „Град истине“, зваће се Јерусалим, а и гора Господа над војскама „Света гора“.’
4Овако каже Господ над војскама: ’Стари људи и старе жене ће поново седети на трговима Јерусалима, времешни, свако са штапом у руци својој. 5Градске ће тргове испунити дечаци и девојчице. Играће се по улицама града.’
6Овако каже Господ над војскама: ’Ако би тих дана то претешко било у очима овог остатка, ових људи, хоће ли да буде претешко и у мојим очима? – говори Господ над војскама.’
7Овако каже Господ над војскама: ’Ево, спашћу свој народ из источне земље и из западне земље. 8Довешћу их да пребивају усред Јерусалима, па ће бити мој народ, а ја ћу бити њихов Бог у истини и у праведности.’
9Овако каже Господ над војскама: ’О, ви што слушате, нека вам руке буду јаке у времену овом због ових речи које вам говоре пророци – који су били на дан оснивања Дома Господа над војскама – да би се изградио Дом! 10Јер, пре тих дана није било наднице ни за људе ни за стоку. Ко год да је одлазио и долазио није имао мира од непријатеља, а ја сам завадио ближње међусобно. 11А ја сада нећу бити остатку народа овог какав сам био раније – говори Господ над војскама.
12Наиме, сејаће се у миру, лоза ће рађати родом својим, земља ће рађати плодовима и росиће небеса. Ја ћу дати остатку овог народа да наследи све ово. 13И као што сте били проклети међу народима, доме Јудин и доме Израиљев, тако ћу вас сада спасти да сте благослов. Не плашите се! Руке своје оснажите!’
14Јер овако каже Господ над војскама: ’Као што сам намеравао да вам наудим када су ме гневили ваши преци – каже Господ над војскама – и нисам се сажалио, 15тако сам окренуо своје намере у ово време, да Јерусалиму и дому Јудином учиним добро. Не плашите се! 16Ово су ствари које ћете да радите: говорите истину један другом. Ради мира истинито и праведно судите на својим вратима. 17Нека нико не смишља у срцу зло против ближњег свога. Не волите лажно заклињање. Све су то ствари које мрзим – говори Господ.’“
18Дошла ми је реч Господа над војскама:
19„Овако каже Господ над војскама: ’Постови четвртог, петог, седмог и десетог месеца за дом Јудин ће постати радост и милина, постаће радосни празници. Зато волите истину и мир.’
20Овако каже Господ над војскама: ’Поново ће доћи народи, становници градова многих. 21И становници ће ићи једни код других и говориће: хајде да одемо и вапимо пред лицем Господњим, да тражимо Господа над војскама. И ја ћу ићи! 22И доћи ће многи људи и народи моћни, да траже Господа над војскама у Јерусалиму, да вапе пред лицем Господњим.’
23Овако каже Господ над војскама: ’У то ће време по десеторо људи од сваког народног језика држати за скут једног Јеврејина и говориће: пустите нас да идемо с вама, јер смо чули да је са вама Бог!’“
