1And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah. 2And they had in their inheritance Beer-sheba, or Sheba, and Moladah, 3And Hazar-shual, and Balah, and Azem, 4And Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah, 5And Ziklag, and Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susah, 6And Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages: 7Ain, Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and their villages: 8And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalath-beer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families. 9Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.
10¶ And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid: 11And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam; 12And turned from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising unto the border of Chisloth-tabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia, 13And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittah-hepher, to Ittah-kazin, and goeth out to Remmon-methoar to Neah;19.13 methoar: or, which is drawn 14And the border compasseth it on the north side to Hannathon: and the outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthah-el: 15And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Beth-lehem: twelve cities with their villages. 16This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.
17¶ And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families. 18And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem, 19And Hapharaim, and Shion, and Anaharath, 20And Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez, 21And Remeth, and En-gannim, and En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez; 22And the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Beth-shemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities with their villages. 23This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.
24¶ And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families. 25And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph, 26And Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reacheth to Carmel westward, and to Shihor-libnath; 27And turneth toward the sunrising to Beth-dagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthah-el toward the north side of Beth-emek, and Neiel, and goeth out to Cabul on the left hand, 28And Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even unto great Zidon; 29And then the coast turneth to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turneth to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:19.29 Tyre: Heb. Tzor 30Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob: twenty and two cities with their villages. 31This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.
32¶ The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families. 33And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan: 34And then the coast turneth westward to Aznoth-tabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side, and reacheth to Asher on the west side, and to Judah upon Jordan toward the sunrising. 35And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth, 36And Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor, 37And Kedesh, and Edrei, and En-hazor, 38And Iron, and Migdal-el, Horem, and Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh; nineteen cities with their villages. 39This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.
40¶ And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families. 41And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Ir-shemesh, 42And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah, 43And Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron, 44And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath, 45And Jehud, and Bene-berak, and Gath-rimmon, 46And Me-jarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho.19.46 before: or, over against19.46 Japho: or, Joppa 47And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father. 48This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families, these cities with their villages.
49¶ When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts, the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them: 50According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked, even Timnath-serah in mount Ephraim: and he built the city, and dwelt therein. 51These are the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. So they made an end of dividing the country.
Le territoire de la tribu de Siméon
1Le deuxième lot échut par le sort aux familles de la tribu de Siméon. Leur territoire était au milieu de celui de Juda. 2Il comprenait Beer-Sheva, Shéba, Molada, 3Hatsar-Shoual, Bala, Atsem, 4Eltolad, Betoul, Horma, 5Tsiqlag, Beth-Markaboth, Hatsar-Sousa, 6Beth-Lebaoth et Sharouhen : soit treize villes avec leurs villages. 7Aïn, Rimmôn, Eter et Ashân : quatre villes et leurs villages. 8Tous les villages qui sont aux alentours de ces villes jusqu’à Baalath-Beer, la Ramath du Néguev. Tout cela constituait le patrimoine des familles de la tribu de Siméon. 9Leur territoire fut pris sur la part attribuée aux descendants de Juda car celle-ci était trop grande pour eux. Voilà pourquoi le territoire des descendants de Siméon se trouvait au milieu de celui de Juda.
Le territoire de la tribu de Zabulon
10Le troisième lot fut attribué par tirage au sort aux familles de la tribu de Zabulon. Leur territoire s’étendait jusqu’à Sarid. 11De là, la frontière de leur domaine remontait à l’ouest vers Mareala, touchait à Dabbésheth et au torrent qui coule près de Yoqneam. 12De Sarid, elle allait vers l’est rejoindre le territoire de Kisloth-Thabor, se dirigeait vers Dabrath, et montait à Yaphia. 13Ensuite, elle continuait plus à l’est sur Guitta-Hépher, Itta-Qatsin, puis se dirigeait sur Rimmôn, et s’incurvait pour passer à Néa. 14Au nord, la frontière contournait Hannathôn et débouchait dans la vallée de Yiphtah-El. 15Le territoire comprenait douze villes avec les villages qui en dépendaient, dont Qattath, Nahalal, Shimrôn, Yideala et Bethléhem19.15 Différente de la Bethléhem de Juda où naîtra Jésus (1 S 17.12 ; Rt 1.1).. 16Tel fut le patrimoine des familles de Zabulon, avec leurs villes et les villages qui en dépendaient.
Le territoire de la tribu d’Issacar
17Le quatrième lot fut attribué par le sort aux familles d’Issacar. 18Leur territoire comprenait Jizréel, Kesoulloth, Sunem, 19Hapharaïm, Shiôn, Anaharath, 20Rabbith, Qishyôn, Abets, 21Rémeth, Eyn-Gannim, Eyn-Hadda et Beth-Patsets. 22La frontière touchait à Thabor, Shahatsima et à Beth-Shémesh, pour aboutir au Jourdain. Le territoire comprenait seize villes et les villages qui en dépendaient. 23Tel fut le patrimoine des familles d’Issacar avec les villages qui en dépendaient.
Le territoire de la tribu d’Aser
24Le cinquième lot échut par le sort aux familles de la tribu d’Aser. 25Leur territoire comprenait les villes de Helqath, Hali, Béten, Akshaph, 26Allammélek, Amead et Misheal. La frontière atteignait le mont Carmel à l’ouest, et Shihor-Libnath.
27Puis elle tournait à l’est vers Beth-Dagôn, touchait le territoire de Zabulon et la vallée de Yiphtah-El, au nord de Beth-Emeq et Neïel, pour se prolonger vers Kaboul à gauche, 28Ebrôn19.28 Au lieu d’Ebrôn, certains manuscrits ont Abdôn, ce qui correspond à Jos 21.30., Rehob, Hammôn et Qana, jusqu’à Sidon-la-Grande. 29Ensuite elle tournait vers Rama et la forteresse de Tyr, partait vers Hosa, pour aboutir à la mer Méditerranée en passant dans la région d’Akzib, 30puis par Oumma, Apheq et Rehob. Le territoire comprenait vingt-deux villes et leurs villages. 31Tel fut le patrimoine des familles de la tribu d’Aser avec leurs villes et leurs villages.
Le territoire de la tribu de Nephtali
32Le sixième lot échut par le sort aux familles de Nephtali. 33Leur frontière partait de Héleph et du chêne de Tsaanannim, puis passait par Adami-Nékeb et Yabnéel pour aller à Laqqoum et déboucher sur le Jourdain. 34Elle tournait à l’ouest vers Aznoth-Thabor, et de là se dirigeait vers Houqoq et touchait le territoire de Zabulon au sud, puis celui d’Aser à l’ouest. Le texte hébreu traditionnel intercale en Juda entre à l’ouest et à l’est., elle était constituée par le Jourdain. 35Les villes fortifiées étaient Tsiddim, Tser, Hamath, Raqqath, Kinnéreth, 36Adama, Rama, Hatsor ; 37Qédesh, Edréi, Eyn-Hatsor ; 38Yireôn, Migdal-El, Horem, Beth-Anath et Beth-Shémesh : soit dix-neuf villes et les villages qui en dépendaient. 39Tel fut le patrimoine des familles de la tribu de Nephtali avec leurs villes et les villages qui en dépendaient.
Le territoire de la tribu de Dan
40La septième part fut attribuée par le sort aux familles de la tribu de Dan. 41Le territoire qu’ils reçurent en possession comprenait Tsorea, Eshtaol, Ir-Shémesh : 42Shaalabbîn, Ayalôn, Yitla ; 43Elôn, Timnata, Eqrôn : 44Elteqé, Guibbetôn, Baalath ; 45Yehoud, Bené-Beraq, Gath-Rimmôn ; 46le cours du Yarqôn, Raqôn19.46 Raqôn: ce nom est omis par l’ancienne version grecque. et le territoire en face de Jaffa19.46 Le Yarqôn arrose Jaffa (la cité de Ac 9.36), près de l’actuelle Tel-Aviv.. – 47Mais le territoire des Danites leur échappa. Alors les Danites allèrent attaquer Léshem. Ils s’emparèrent de la ville et en tuèrent les habitants, puis ils en prirent possession et s’y installèrent. Ils donnèrent à Léshem le nom de Dan, du nom de leur ancêtre19.47 Le territoire attribué à la tribu de Dan se situait près de la Méditerranée. Mais à cause des pressions exercées par les Amoréens (Jg 1.34), les Danites émigrèrent vers le nord de la vallée du Jourdain et s’emparèrent de la ville de Léshem (ou Laïsh ; voir Jg 18.2-10) qu’ils appelèrent Dan.. – 48Tel fut le patrimoine des familles de la tribu de Dan, avec leurs villes et les villages qui en dépendaient.
Le patrimoine attribué à Josué
49Lorsque les Israélites eurent fini de partager le pays en patrimoines délimités, ils attribuèrent un patrimoine à Josué, fils de Noun, parmi les leurs. 50Sur l’ordre de l’Eternel, ils lui donnèrent la ville qu’il avait demandée, c’est-à-dire Timnath-Sérah dans la région montagneuse d’Ephraïm. Josué rebâtit la ville et s’y installa.
51Tels furent les patrimoines que le prêtre Eléazar, Josué, fils de Noun, et les chefs des groupes familiaux des tribus d’Israël attribuèrent par tirage au sort, à Silo, devant l’Eternel, à l’entrée de la tente de la Rencontre. Ainsi fut achevé le partage du pays.
