1Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, 2And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.2.2 by…: or, out of mine affliction2.2 hell: or, the grave 3For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.2.3 midst: Heb. heart 4Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. 5The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. 6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.2.6 bottoms: Heb. cuttings off2.6 corruption: or, the pit 7When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. 8They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. 9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
10¶ And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
Ang Pangamuyo ni Jonas
1Nagpangamuyo si Jonas sa Ginoo nga iya Dios sa sulod sang isda. 2Siling niya,
“Nagpanawag ako sa imo, Ginoo, sa akon kalisod
kag ginsabat mo ako.
Nagpangayo ako sang bulig sa imo sa bibi sang kamatayon,2:2 bibi sang kamatayon: sa literal, sa kadadalman sang lugar sang mga patay.
kag ginpamatian mo ako.
3Gintagbong mo ako sa kadadalman sang dagat.
Ginlikupan ako sang tubig kag gintabunan sang mga balod nga ginpadala mo.
4Gintabog mo ako sa imo presensya,
pero nagalaom ako nga makapalapit liwat sa imo, didto sa imo balaan nga templo.
5Ginlapawan ako sang tubig kag daw malumos na gid ako.
Gintabunan ako sang tubig kag ginsamburan ang akon ulo sang tanom sa dagat.
6Naglugdang ako hasta sa duta sang idalom sang dagat,
daw pareho lang nga ginpriso ako sa kadadalman sang duta sa wala sing katapusan.
Pero ginkuha mo ako sa sina nga kadadalman, O Ginoo nga akon Dios.
7Sang daw mapatay na gid ako,2:7 Sang daw mapatay na gid ako: ukon, Sang ginkapoy na gid ako; ukon, Sang daw madulaan na gid ako sang paglaom. nagpanawag ako sa imo, Ginoo.
Kag ginpamatian mo ang akon pangamuyo didto sa imo balaan nga templo.
8Ang mga tawo nga nagasimba sa mga dios-dios nga wala sing pulos nagasikway sang ila paghigugma sa imo.
9Pero ako iya magahalad sa imo nga nagakanta sang pagpasalamat.
Tumanon ko ang ginpromisa ko nga maghalad sa imo.
Ikaw, Ginoo, ang nagaluwas!”
10Karon, ginsugo sang Ginoo ang isda nga iluad si Jonas. Gani ginluad niya si Jonas sa baybayon.
