1Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, 2And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.2.2 by…: or, out of mine affliction2.2 hell: or, the grave 3For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.2.3 midst: Heb. heart 4Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. 5The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. 6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.2.6 bottoms: Heb. cuttings off2.6 corruption: or, the pit 7When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. 8They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. 9But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
10¶ And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
Ang Pag-ampo ni Jonas
1Nagaampo si Jonas sa Ginoo nga iyang Dios didto sa sulod sa tiyan sa isda. 2Miingon siya:
“Sa akong kalisdanan, mitawag ako kanimo Ginoo, ug gitubag mo ako.
Nangayo ako ug tabang kanimo sa dihang nagaungaw ako sa kamatayon,2:2 sa dihang nagaungaw ako sa kamatayon: sa literal, sa dapit sa mga patay.
ug gidungog mo ako.
3Gitambog mo ako sa kinahiladman sa dagat.
Gilibotan ako sa tubig ug gibanlas sa mga balod nga imong gipadala.
4Gipahilayo mo ako sa imong presensya,
Apan maglantaw gehapun ako sa imong balaan nga templo.
5Gilapawan ako sa tubig ug daw sa malumos na gayod ako.
Naputos sa sagbot ang akong ulo.
6Miunlod ako ngadto sa kinahiladman sa dagat,
nabilanggo ako sa kinahiladman sa yuta sa walay kataposan.
Apan gihaw-as mo ako gikan sa kahiladman, O Ginoo nga akong Dios.
7Sa dihang hapit na mahugno ang akong kinabuhi, misangpit ako kanimo, Ginoo,
ug gidungog mo ang akong pag-ampo didto sa imong balaan nga templo.
8Kadtong mga tawo nga nagsimba sa mga walay pulos nga mga dios-dios nagsalikway sa imong grasya nga ila untang mahiagumankanila.
9Apan, ako, inubanan sa mga awit sa pagpasalamat, maghalad kanimo.
Tumanon ko ang akong mga panaad.
Ang kaluwasan gekan sa Ginoo.”
10Unya, gimandoan sa Ginoo ang isda, ug gisuka niini si Jonas sa baybayon.
