1At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves: 2And they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth. 3And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the LORD of hosts.
4¶ Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return? 5Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return. 6I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle. 7Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the crane and the swallow observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the judgment of the LORD. 8How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? 13¶ I will surely consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall pass away from them. 14Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.8.14 gall: or, poison 15We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble! 16The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan: the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones; for they are come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those that dwell therein.8.16 all…: Heb. the fulness thereof 17For, behold, I will send serpents, cockatrices, among you, which will not be charmed, and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.
18¶ When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me.8.18 in: Heb. upon 19Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: Is not the LORD in Zion? is not her king in her? 1Nagpadayon sa pagsiling ang Ginoo, “Sa sina nga tion, panguhaon sa mga lulubngan ang mga tul-an sang mga hari kag sang mga opisyal sang Juda, pati ang mga tul-an sang mga pari, sang mga propeta, kag sang katawhan sang Jerusalem. 2Dayon laptahon ini sa duta, sa atubang sang adlaw, bulan, kag mga bituon nga ila ginhigugma, gin-alagad, ginsunod, ginpamangkutan, kag ginsimba. Indi na pagtipunon liwat ang ila mga tul-an kag ilubong, kundi laptahon na lang sa duta nga daw mga ipot. 3Ang nabilin nga buhi sa sining malaot nga nasyon laptahon ko sa iban nga mga nasyon, kag didto gustuhon pa nila nga mapatay sang sa mabuhi. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Makagagahom, ang nagasiling sini.”
Ang Sala kag ang Silot
4Nagsiling ang Ginoo sa akon nga ihambal ko ining iya mensahi sa mga tawo: “Kon matumba ang tawo, indi bala nga nagabangon siya? Kon magtalang siya, indi bala nga nagabalik siya? 5Ti, ngaa kamo nga taga-Jerusalem padayon na lang nga nagtalikod sa akon? Ngaa nga indi ninyo mabayaan ang mga dios-dios nga nagadaya sa inyo kag magbalik sa akon? 6Ginpamatian ko sing maayo ang inyo mga ginhambal kag wala kamo naghambal sing husto. Wala sing bisan isa sa inyo nga naghinulsol sa iya kalautan. Wala sing may nagsiling, ‘Ano ining akon ginhimo?’ Sa baylo, ang kada isa sa inyo madasig nga nagapakasala, pareho sang kabayo nga nagapakadto sa inaway. 7Ang tulabong, ang pating, ang salimbabatang, kag ang dugwak nakahibalo kon san-o maglupad pakadto sa iban nga mga lugar kag kon san-o sila magbalik, pero kamo iya nga akon katawhan wala kahibalo kon ano ang akon mga pagsulundan. 8Paano bala kamo makasiling, ‘Maalamon kami tungod kay nahibaluan namon ang kasuguan sang Ginoo,’ kon ang matuod, ginliwat ini sang inyo mga manunudlo? 9Mahuy-an gid ang mga nagakabig sang ila kaugalingon nga maalamon. Mahadlok gid sila kay bihagon sila, tungod nga ginsikway nila ang akon mga pulong. Ti, maalamon gid bala sila? 10Gani ihatag ko sa iban nga mga tawo ang ila mga asawa kag mga uma. Tungod kay halin sa pinakakubos hasta sa pinakadungganon, nagapangdaya sila agod makakuwarta. Bisan mga propeta kag mga pari nagapangdaya man. 11Wala nila ginabulong sing seryuso ang pilas sang akon katawhan, bisan grabe na ini. Nagasiling sila nga maayo ang tanan bisan pa nga indi maayo. 12Nahuya bala sila sa ila makangilil-ad nga batasan? Wala! Kay wala na sila sing huya! Wala na gani sila nagapanghilaw-hilaw. Gani ako, ang Ginoo, nagasiling nga malaglag sila pareho sa iban. Paubuson sila sa tion nga silutan sila. 13Kuhaon ko ang ila mga patubas8:13 Kuhaon… patubas: ukon, Laglagon ko sila pati ang ila mga patubas. nga mga ubas kag mga higos.8:13 higos: ang bunga sang kahoy nga higera (ukon “fig tree”). Bisan ang mga dahon sini magakalaya. Ang mga ginhatag ko sa ila pagakuhaon sa ila.
14“Dayon magasiling sila, ‘Ti, ano pa ang aton ginahulat? Dali malagyo kita sa napaderan nga mga banwa, kag didto kita magpakamatay. Kay ginsentensyahan na kita nga patyon sang Ginoo nga aton Dios. Daw pareho lang nga ginhatagan niya kita sang tubig nga may hilo agod imnon naton, tungod kay nakasala kita sa iya. 15Naghandom kita sang kalinong, pero wala sing kalinong nga nag-abot. Naghandom kita sang kaayuhan, pero kahadlok ang nag-abot. 16Ang pusnga sang mga kabayo sang mga kaaway mabatian halin sa Dan. Sa hirihiri lang sang ila mga kabayo nagakurog na sa kahadlok ang bug-os nga duta. Nag-abot sila sa paglaglag sang sini nga duta kag sa tanan nga ara dira—ang mga banwa kag ang tanan nga pumuluyo sini.’ ”
17Nagsiling ang Ginoo, “Pamati! Ipadala ko ining mga kaaway sa inyo nga daw sa dalitan nga mga man-og nga wala sing may makaanta, kag kadton nila kamo.”
18Nagsiling si Jeremias: Indi gid makuha ang akon kasubo. Nagasakit gid ang akon balatyagon. 19Pamatii ang paghinibi sang akon kasimanwa; mabatian ini sa bug-os nga duta. Nagasiling sila, “Wala na bala ang Ginoo sa Jerusalem?8:19 Jerusalem: sa Hebreo, Zion. Wala na bala dira ang Dios nga Hari sang Jerusalem?” Nagsabat ang Ginoo, “Ngaa nga ginpaakig ninyo ako paagi sa pagsimba sa mga dios-dios nga wala sing pulos?” 20Nagreklamo ang mga tawo, “Tapos na ang tig-alani kag ang tig-ilinit, pero wala gihapon kami maluwas.”
21Nagasakit ang akon balatyagon tungod sa mga kasakit sang akon mga kasimanwa. Nagapangasubo ako kag naurungan gid. 22Wala bala sing bulong sa Gilead? Wala bala sing manugbulong didto? Ngaa bala wala mag-ayo ang pilas sang akon mga kasimanwa?
