1The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the table of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars;17.1 point: Heb. nail 2Whilst their children remember their altars and their groves by the green trees upon the high hills. 3O my mountain in the field, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil, and thy high places for sin, throughout all thy borders. 4And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not: for ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn for ever.17.4 thyself: Heb. in thyself
5¶ Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. 6For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. 7Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.17.8 drought: or, restraint
9¶ The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? 10I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. 11As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.17.11 sitteth…: or, gathereth young which she hath not brought forth
12¶ A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary. 13O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. 14Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

19¶ Thus said the LORD unto me; Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah come in, and by the which they go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem; 20And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the LORD, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates: 21Thus saith the LORD; Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem; 22Neither carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, neither do ye any work, but hallow ye the sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. 23But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction. 24And it shall come to pass, if ye diligently hearken unto me, saith the LORD, to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath day, but hallow the sabbath day, to do no work therein; 25Then shall there enter into the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and this city shall remain for ever. 26And they shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the places about Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the plain, and from the mountains, and from the south, bringing burnt offerings, and sacrifices, and meat offerings, and incense, and bringing sacrifices of praise, unto the house of the LORD. 27But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath day, and not to bear a burden, even entering in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath day; then will I kindle a fire in the gates thereof, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.

1Miingon ang Ginoo, “Katawhan sa Juda, ang inyong mga sala gikulit diha sa inyong gahi nga mga kasingkasing, ug sa mga sungay-sungay sa mga eskina sa inyong mga halaran. 2Mao usab ang inyong mga kabataan, nagasimba sila sa inyong mga halaran ug sa mga poste nga simbolo sa diosa nga si Ashera didto sa labong nga mga kahoy ug sa taas nga mga bungtod, 3apil sa mga bukid sa kaumahan. Busa ipailog ko sa inyong mga kaaway ang inyong mga bahandi ug mga kabtangan, apil na ang inyong mga simbahanan diha sa habog nga mga dapit, tungod sa sala nga nahimo sa inyong tibuok nasod. 4Mawala kaninyo ang yuta nga gihatag ko kaninyo. Ipaulipon ko kamo sa inyong mga kaaway didto sa yuta nga wala kamo masuheto, tungod kay gipasilaob ninyo ang akong kasuko ug daw kalayo kini nga dili mapalong.”
5Miingon pa gayod ang Ginoo, “Panghimaraoton ko ang tawo nga mobiya kanako ug mosalig sa tawo nga molig-on kaniya. 6Mahisama siya sa tanom sa kamingawan nga dili molambo. Magapuyo siya sa mamala ug asinon nga yuta diin walay nagapuyo. 7Apan bulahan ang tawo nga nagasalig ug nagalaom kanako. 8Mahisama siya sa kahoy nga gitanom sa daplin sa sapa kansang mga gamot nakaabot sa tubig. Kini nga kahoy dili mahadlok ni mabalaka kon moabot ang ting-init o taas nga hulaw. Ang iyang mga dahon kanunayng lunhaw, ug walay puas ang iyang pagpamunga.
9“Labihan gayod ka malimbongon ang kasingkasing sa tawo ug walay makatupong niini. Kinsay makatugkad niini? 10Ako, ang Ginoo, nagasusi sa kasingkasing ug hunahuna sa tawo. Ihatag ko sa matag usa ang angay sa iyang batasan ug binuhatan. 11Ang tawo nga nakaangkon ug bahandi sa dinaotan nga paagi sama sa langgam nga naglomlom sa itlog nga dili iya. Sa tunga-tunga sa iyang pagkinabuhi, mahanaw kaniya ang iyang bahandi, ug mogawas nga buang-buang diay siya.”
12O Ginoo, ang imong templo mao ang imong matahom nga trono sukad pa kaniadto. 13Ikaw Ginoo, ang paglaom sa Israel. Maulawan gayod ang tanang mibiya kanimo. Ilubong gayod sila sa yuta kay gisalikway ka nila, ang tuboran nga nagahatag ug kinabuhi.
14O Ginoo, ayoha ako ug maulian ako. Luwasa ako ug makalingkawas ako. Kay ikaw ang akong ginadayeg. 15Miingon ang mga tawo kanako, “Asa na kadtong giingon sa Ginoo? Nganong wala pa man kini mahitabo?” 16O Ginoo, wala ako magpasagad sa akong buluhaton isip magbalantay sa imong katawhan. Wala gayod ako magtinguha nga padad-an mo silag katalagman. Nasayod ka sa akong gipanulti. 17Ayaw akog hadloka, kay ikaw ang akong dalangpanan sa panahon sa kalaglagan. 18Pakaulawi ug hadloka ang nagatinguha ug daotan kanako, apan ayaw kini buhata kanako. Padad-i silag katalagman aron mangalaglag silang tanan.
Ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay
19Miingon ang Ginoo kanako, “Lakaw ug tindog didto sa Pultahan sa Katawhan diin mag-agian ang mga hari sa Juda, ug didto usab dayon sa uban pang mga pultahan sa Jerusalem. 20Unya ingna ang mga tawo, ‘Paminawa ninyo ang mensahe sa Ginoo, kamong mga hari ug katawhan sa Juda, apil na kamong nagapuyo sa Jerusalem nga mag-agian niini nga pultahan. 21Kini ang giingon sa Ginoo: Pagmatngon kamo kon may bili kaninyo ang inyong kinabuhi. Ayaw kamo pagtrabaho o pagdala sa inyong mga baligya sa pultahan sa Jerusalem panahon sa Adlaw nga Igpapahulay. 22Oo, ayaw gayod kamo pagtrabaho o pagdalag mga butang gikan sa inyong mga balay niining adlawa. Igahin ninyo kini alang kanako sama sa gimando ko sa inyong mga katigulangan. 23Apan wala gayod sila maminaw kanako. Mga gahi silag ulo! Dili sila magpadisiplina. 24Apan kon motuman lang kamo kanako, nga dili motrabaho o modala sa inyong mga baligya diha sa mga pultahan sa Jerusalem sa Adlaw nga Igpapahulay, ug igahin ninyo kining adlawa alang kanako, 25panalanginan ko kamo. Padayon kamo nga makabaton ug hari gikan sa kaliwatan ni David. Magsakay ang hari ug ang iyang mga opisyal sa mga karwahe ug mga kabayo ug mosulod sa mga pultahan sa lungsod uban sa katawhan sa Jerusalem ug sa ubang bahin sa Juda. Ug kining siyudad sa Jerusalem pagapuy-an hangtod sa hangtod. 26Mangadto sa templo sa Ginoo ang mga tawo nga naggikan sa mga dapit libot sa Jerusalem ug sa mga lungsod sa Juda ug Benjamin, ug gikan sa kabungtoran sa kasadpan,17:26 kabungtoran sa kasadpan: sa Hebreo, Shefela. sa mga bukid, ug sa Negev. Magdala silag mga halad nga sinunog ug uban pang mga halad, sama sa halad sa pagpasidungog sa Ginoo, halad sa pagpasalamat sa Ginoo, ug mga insenso. 27Apan kon dili kamo motuman kanako, ug dili ninyo igahin alang kanako ang Adlaw nga Igpapahulay, ug managdala kamo sa inyong mga baligya diha sa mga pultahan sa Jerusalem nianang adlawa, sunogon ko ang mga pultahan sa Jerusalem, apil ang lig-ong mga bahin niini, ug wala gayoy makapalong sa kalayo.’ ”
