1The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
4¶ And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. 5And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. 6But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
7¶ For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them. 8For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. 9And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
10I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.61.10 decketh: Heb. decketh as a priest 11For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
O ano do favor do Senhor
1O Espírito do Senhor Deus está sobre mim, porque o Senhor me ungiu para levar boas novas aos pobres. Enviou-me para levar conforto aos que têm o coração ferido, para anunciar a liberdade aos cativos, abrir os olhos aos cegos e as prisões aos presos. 2Enviou-me a anunciar o tempo do favor do Senhor e da sua ira para com os seus inimigos; para consolar todos os que choram. 3A todos os que vivem tristes em Sião dar-lhes-á alegria em lugar de cinzas, gozo em vez de lamentações, louvor em vez de angústia. O Senhor os plantou como carvalhos de justiça, como a plantação do Senhor, para sua própria glória.
4Eles reconstruirão as antigas ruínas, repararão as cidades desde há muito destruídas, fazendo-as reviver, ainda que tenham estado mortas durante muito tempo. 5Estrangeiros virão servir-vos; apascentarão os rebanhos, lavrarão os campos, tratarão das vinhas. 6Quanto a vocês, serão sacerdotes do Senhor, ministros do nosso Deus. Serão alimentados com a riqueza das nações e terão muita honra em todos esses tesouros.
7Em vez de vergonha e desonra, terão uma porção dobrada de prosperidade e uma alegria sem limites.
8Porque eu, o Senhor, amo a justiça e odeio a maldade, o roubo. Recompensarei certamente com generosidade o meu povo, por tudo o que sofreu, e farei com ele uma aliança eterna. 9Os seus descendentes serão conhecidos e honrados entre as nações. Toda a gente se dará conta de que são um povo que o Senhor abençoou.”
10Deixem que vos diga como o Senhor me fez feliz, como a minha alma se alegra em Deus! Porque me vestiu com o fato da salvação e me cobriu com a roupa da justiça! Sou como um noivo no seu fato de casamento e como uma noiva adornada com todas as suas joias. 11O Senhor Deus mostrará às nações do mundo a sua justiça e todos o louvarão. A sua retidão será como uma planta cheia de rebentos e de flores em botão; como um jardim no princípio da primavera, cheio de novas plantas desabrochando por toda a parte.
