1Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 2After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. 3Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
4¶ O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? የእስራኤል ንስሓ አለመግባት
1“ኑ፤ ወደ እግዚአብሔር እንመለስ፤
እርሱ ሰባብሮናል፤
እርሱም ይጠግነናል፤
እርሱ አቍስሎናል፤
እርሱም ይፈውሰናል።
2ከሁለት ቀን በኋላ ያነቃናል፤
በእርሱም ፊት እንድንኖር፣
በሦስተኛው ቀን ያስነሣናል።
3እግዚአብሔርን እንወቀው፤
የበለጠ እናውቀውም ዘንድ እንትጋ፤
እንደ ንጋት ብርሃን፣
በርግጥ ይገለጣል፤
ምድርን እንደሚያረሰርስ የበልግ ዝናብ፣
እንደ ክረምትም ዝናብ ወደ እኛ ይመጣል።”
4“ኤፍሬም ሆይ፤ ምን ላድርግህ?
ይሁዳ ሆይ፤ ምን ላድርግህ?
ፍቅራችሁ እንደ ማለዳ ጉም፣
እንደሚጠፋም የጧት ጤዛ ነው።
5ስለዚህ በነቢያቴ ቈራረጥኋችሁ፤
በአፌም ቃል ገደልኋችሁ፣
ፍርዴም እንደ መብረቅ በላያችሁ አበራ።
6ከመሥዋዕት ይልቅ ምሕረትን፣
ከሚቃጠልም መሥዋዕት ይልቅ እግዚአብሔርን ማወቅ እሻለሁና።
7እንደ አዳም6፥7 ወይም በአዳም እንደ ሆነው ወይም በሰዎች ቃል ኪዳንን ተላለፉ፤
በዚያም ለእኔ ታማኝ አልነበሩም።
8ገለዓድ በደም የተበከለች፣
የክፉዎች ሰዎች ከተማ ናት።
9ወንበዴዎች ሰውን ለማጥቃት እንደሚያደቡ፣
ካህናትም በቡድን እንዲሁ ያደርጋሉ፤
በሴኬም መንገድ ላይ ሰዎችን ይገድላሉ፤
አሳፋሪም ወንጀል ይፈጽማሉ።
10በእስራኤል ቤት የሚሰቀጥጥ ነገር አይቻለሁ፤
በዚያ ኤፍሬም ዘማዊ ሆነ፤
እስራኤልም ረከሰ።
11“ይሁዳ ሆይ፤ ለአንተም፣
መከር ተመድቦብሃል።
“ሕዝቤን ከምርኮ አገር በመለስሁ ጊዜ፣
