1Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom. 2Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite; 3And Bashemath Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebajoth.36.3 Bashemath: or, Mahalath 4And Adah bare to Esau Eliphaz; and Bashemath bare Reuel; 5And Aholibamah bare Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah: these are the sons of Esau, which were born unto him in the land of Canaan. 6And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.36.6 persons: Heb. souls 7For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle. 8Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.
9¶ And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:36.9 the Edomites: Heb. Edom 10These are the names of Esau’s sons; Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Bashemath the wife of Esau. 11And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.36.11 Zepho: or, Zephi 12And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau’s son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau’s wife. 13And these are the sons of Reuel; Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sons of Bashemath Esau’s wife.
14¶ And these were the sons of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon, Esau’s wife: and she bare to Esau Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.
15¶ These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz, 16Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.
17¶ And these are the sons of Reuel Esau’s son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah: these are the dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Bashemath Esau’s wife.
18¶ And these are the sons of Aholibamah Esau’s wife; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah: these were the dukes that came of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau’s wife. 19These are the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these are their dukes.
20¶ These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, 21And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the dukes of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom. 22And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna.36.22 Hemam: or, Homam 23And the children of Shobal were these; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.36.23 Alvan: or, Alian36.23 Shepho: or, Shephi 24And these are the children of Zibeon; both Ajah, and Anah: this was that Anah that found the mules in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father. 25And the children of Anah were these; Dishon, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah. 26And these are the children of Dishon; Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.36.26 Hemdan: or, Amram 27The children of Ezer are these; Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.36.27 Akan: or, Jakan 28The children of Dishan are these; Uz, and Aran. 29These are the dukes that came of the Horites; duke Lotan, duke Shobal, duke Zibeon, duke Anah, 30Duke Dishon, duke Ezer, duke Dishan: these are the dukes that came of Hori, among their dukes in the land of Seir.
31¶ And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel. 32And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah. 33And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead. 34And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his stead. 35And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith. 36And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead. 37And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead. 38And Saul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead. 39And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.36.39 Hadar, Pau: or, Hadad, Pai: after his death was an Aristocracy 40And these are the names of the dukes that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names; duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,36.40 Alvah: or, Aliah 41Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon, 42Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar, 43Duke Magdiel, duke Iram: these be the dukes of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession: he is Esau the father of the Edomites.36.43 the Edomites: Heb. 1ኤዶም የተባለው የዔሳው ትውልድ ይህ ነው፦
2ዔሳው ከከነዓን ሴቶች አገባ፤ እነርሱም፦ የኬጢያዊው የዔሎን ልጅ ዓዳን፣ የኤዊያዊው የፅብዖን ልጅ ዓና የወለዳት አህሊባማ፣ 3እንዲሁም የነባዮት እኅት የሆነችው የእስማኤል ልጅ ቤሴሞት ነበሩ።
4ዓዳ ለዔሳው ኤልፋዝን ወለደችለት፤ ቤሴሞት ደግሞ ራጉኤልን ወለደችለት። 5እንደዚሁም አህሊባማ የዑስን፣ የዕላምንና ቆሬን ወለደችለት፤ እነዚህ ዔሳው በከነዓን አገር የወለዳቸው ልጆች ናቸው።
6ዔሳው ሚስቶቹን፣ ወንዶችና ሴቶች ልጆቹን፣ ቤተ ሰቦቹን በሙሉ እንደዚሁም የቀንድ ከብቶቹንና ሌሎቹንም እንስሳት ሁሉ በከነዓን ምድር ያፈራውን ሀብት እንዳለ ይዞ ከወንድሙ ከያዕቆብ ራቅ ወዳለ ቦታ ሄደ። 7ብዙ ሀብት ስለ ነበራቸው አብረው መኖር አልቻሉም፤ የነበሩበትም ስፍራ ከከብቶቻቸው ብዛት የተነሣ ሊበቃቸው አልቻለም። 8ስለዚህ ኤዶም የተባለው ዔሳው መኖሪያውን በተራራማው አገር በሴይር አደረገ።
9በሴይር ተራራማ አገር የሚኖሩ የኤዶማውያን አባት፣ የዔሳው ዝርያዎች እነዚህ ናቸው፤
10የዔሳው ልጆች ስም፦
የዔሳው ሚስት የዓዳ ልጅ ኤልፋዝና የዔሳው ሚስት የቤሴሞት ልጅ ራጉኤል፤
11የኤልፋዝ ልጆች፦
ቴማን፣ ኦማር፣ ስፎ፣ ጎቶምና ቄኔዝ፤ 12የዔሳው ልጅ ኤልፋዝ ትምናዕ የምትባል ቁባት ነበረችው፤ እርሷም አማሌቅን ወለደችለት፤ የዔሳው ሚስት የዓዳ የልጅ ልጆች እነዚህ ናቸው።
13የራጉኤል ልጆች፦
ናሖት፣ ዛራ፣ ሣማና ሚዛህ፤ እነዚህ ደግሞ የዔሳው ሚስት የቤሴሞት የልጅ ልጆች ናቸው።
14የፅብዖን የልጅ ልጅ፣ የዓና ልጅ የዔሳው ሚስት አህሊባማ ለዔሳው የወለደቻቸው ልጆች፦
የዑስ፣ የዕላማና ቆሬ።
15ከዔሳው ዝርያዎች እነዚህ የነገድ አለቆች ነበሩ፤
የዔሳው የበኵር ልጅ የኤልፋዝ ልጆች፦
አለቃ ቴማን፣ አለቃ ኦማር፣ አለቃ ስፎ፣ አለቃ ቄኔዝ፣ 16አለቃ ቆሬ፣36፥16 ከማሶሬቲኩ ጽሑፍ ጋር ተመሳሳይ ሲሆን በኦሪተ ሳምራውያን ግን (በተጨማሪ ዘፍ 36፥11 እና 1ዜና 1፥36 ይመ) ውስጥ “ቆሬ” የሚለው ቃል የለም። አለቃ ጎቶምና አለቃ አማሌቅ፤ እነዚህ በኤዶም ምድር ከኤልፋዝ የተገኙ የነገድ አለቆች፣ የዓዳ የልጅ ልጆች ነበሩ።
17የዔሳው ልጅ ራጉኤል ልጆች፦
አለቃ ናሖት፣ አለቃ ዛራ፣ አለቃ ሣማና አለቃ ሚዛህ፤ እነዚህ በኤዶም ምድር ከራጉኤል የተገኙ የነገድ አለቆች፣ የዔሳው ሚስት የቤሴሞት የልጅ ልጅ ነበሩ።
18የዔሳው ሚስት የአህሊባም ልጆች፦
አለቃ የዑስ፣ አለቃ የዕላማና፣ አለቃ ቆሬ፤ እነዚህ ከዓና ልጅ፣ ከዔሳው ሚስት ከአህሊባማ የተገኙ የነገድ አለቆች ነበሩ።
19እነዚህም ኤዶም የተባለው የዔሳው ልጆችና የነገድ አለቆቻቸው ነበሩ።
20በዚያች ምድር ይኖሩ የነበሩ የሖሪው የሴይር ልጆች እነዚህ ነበሩ፦
ሎጣን፣ ሦባል፣ ፅብዖን፣ ዓና፣ 21ዲሶን፣ ኤጽርና ዲሳን፤ እነዚህ በኤዶም የነበረው የሴይር ልጆች፣ የሖሪውያን የነገድ አለቆች ነበሩ።
22የሎጣን ልጆች፦
ሖሪና ሔማም36፥22 ሔማም የሚለው የዕብራይስጥ ቃል ሖማም ለሚለው ቃል አማራጭ ትርጕም ነው (1ዜና 1፥39 ይመ)።፤ የሎጣንም እኅት ቲምናዕ ትባል ነበር።
23የሦባል ልጆች፦
ዓልዋን፣ ማኔሐት፣ ዔባል፣ ስፎና አውናም፤
24የፅብዖን ልጆች፦
አያና ዓና፤ ይህ ዓና የአባቱን የፅብዖንን አህዮች ሲጠብቅ፣ የፍል ውሃ ምንጮችን36፥24 ከቩልጌት ጋር ተመሳሳይ ሲሆን ሱርስቱ ግን የተገኘ ውሃ ይለዋል፤ በዕብራይስጥ የዚህ ቃል ትርጕም አይታወቅም። በምድረ በዳ ያገኘ ሰው ነው።
25የዓና ልጆች፦
ዲሶንና የዓና ሴት ልጅ አህሊባማ፤
26የዲሶን36፥26 በዕብራይስጥ ዲሳን፣ የዲሶን አማራጭ ትርጕም ነው። ልጆች፦
ሔምዳን፣ ኤስባን፣ ይትራንና ክራን፤
27የኤጽር ልጆች፦
ቢልሐን፣ ዛዕዋንና ዓቃን፤
28የዲሳን ልጆች፦
ዑፅና አራን።
29የሖሪውያን የነገድ አለቆች እነዚህ ነበሩ፦
ሎጣን፣ ሦባል፣ ፅብዖን፣ ዓና፣ 30ዲሶን፣ ኤጽርና ዲሳን፤ እነዚህ በሴይር ምድር እንደየነገዳቸው የሖሪውያን የነገድ አለቆች ነበሩ።
የኤዶም ነገሥታት
36፥31-43 ተጓ ምብ – 1ዜና 1፥43-54
31ንጉሥ በእስራኤል ከመንገሡ በፊት፣36፥31 ወይም እስራኤላዊ መንግሥት በእነርሱ ላይ ከመንገሡ በፊት በኤዶም የነገሡ ነገሥታት እነዚህ ነበሩ፦
32የቢዖር ልጅ ባላቅ በኤዶም ነበር፤ የከተማውም ስም ዲንሃባ ይባል ነበር።
33ባላቅ ሲሞት፣ የባሶራው የዛራ ልጅ ኢዮባብ በምትኩ ነገሠ።
34ኢዮባብ ሲሞት፣ የቴማኒው ሑሳም በምትኩ ነገሠ።
35ሑሳም ሲሞት፣ የምድያምን ሰዎች በሞዓብ ምድር ድል ያደረጋቸው የባዳድ ልጅ ሃዳድ በምትኩ ነገሠ፤ የከተማውም ስም ዓዊት ይባል ነበር።
36ሃዳድ ሲሞት፣ የመሥሬቃው ሠምላ በምትኩ ነገሠ።
37ሠምላ ሲሞት፣ በወንዙ36፥37 የኤፍራጥስ ወንዝ ሊሆን ይችላል። አጠገብ ያለው የርሆቦቱ ሳኦል በምትኩ ነገሠ።
38ሳኦል ሲሞት፣ የዓክቦር ልጅ በኣልሐናን በምትኩ ነገሠ።
39የዓክቦር ልጅ በኣልሐናን ሲሞት፣ ሃዳር በምትኩ ነገሠ፤ የከተማውም ስም ፋዑ ይባል ነበር፤ የሚስቱም ስም መሄጣብኤል ሲሆን፣ እርሷም የሜዛሃብ ልጅ መጥሬድ የወለደቻት ነበረች።
40ከዔሳው የተገኙት የነገድ አለቆች ስም፣ እንደየነገዳቸውና እንደየአገራቸው ይህ ነው፦
ቲምናዕ፣ ዓልዋ፣ የቴት፣
41አህሊባማ፣ ኤላ፣ ፊኖን፣
42ቄኔዝ፣ ቴማን፣ ሚብሳር፣
43መግዲኤልና ዒራም።
እነዚህ፣ በያዙት ምድር እንደየይዞታቸው ከኤዶም የተገኙ የነገድ አለቆች ነበሩ።
ይህም ዔሳው፣ የኤዶማውያን አባት ነው።
