1Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel;4.1 the children…: Heb. the sons of the transportation 2Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither. 3But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us. 4Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building, 5And hired counsellors against them, to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.

1کاتێک دوژمنەکانی یەهودا و بنیامین بیستیانەوە ئەوانەی لە ڕاپێچکراوی گەڕابوونەوە پەرستگایەکیان بۆ یەزدانی پەروەردگاری ئیسرائیل بنیاد دەنایەوە، 2هاتن بۆ لای زروبابل و گەورەی بنەماڵەکان و پێیان گوتن: «با لەگەڵتان بنیاد بنێین، چونکە ئێمەش وەک ئێوەین و داوا لە خوداکەتان دەکەین، لە ماوەی پاشایەتی ئێسەرحەدۆنی پاشای ئاشورەوە ئێمەی بۆ ئێرە هێناوە، قوربانیمان سەربڕیوە.»
3بەڵام زروبابل و یەشوع و پاشماوەی گەورەی بنەماڵەکانی ئیسرائیل وەڵامیان دانەوە: «بۆتان نییە لەگەڵ ئێمە پەرستگای خودامان بنیاد بنێنەوە، بەڵکو ئێمە بە تەنها بۆ یەزدانی پەروەردگاری ئیسرائیلی بنیادی دەنێین، بەو شێوەیەی کۆرشی پاشا، پاشای فارس فەرمانی پێ کردووین.»
4جا گەلانی خاکەکە دەستی گەلی یەهودایان شل دەکردەوە و لە بیناکردنەکە دەیانترساندن، 5چەند ڕاوێژکارێکیان بۆ پووچەڵکردنەوەی پلانەکەیان بە کرێ گرت، بە درێژایی سەردەمی کۆرشی پاشای فارس هەتا پاشایەتی داریوشی پاشای فارس.4:5 مێژووی بنیادنانەوەی پەرستگاکە لە 4:24 دەستپێدەکات.

6لە سەرەتای پاشایەتی ئەحەشوێرۆش، سکاڵانامەیەکیان لە دژی دانیشتووانی یەهودا و ئۆرشەلیم نووسی.
7هەروەها لە سەردەمی پاشایەتی ئەرتەحشەستەی پاشای فارس، بیشلام و میترەدات و تاڤئێل و سەرجەم یاوەرەکانیان نامەیەکیان بۆ ئەرتەحشەستەی نووسی، نامەکەش بە پیت و زمانی ئارامی نووسرا.4:7 دەقی 4:8 هەتا 6:18 بە زمانی ئارامی نووسراوە.
8ڕەحومی فەرماندە و شیمشەیی خامەی نهێنی4:8 ڕازپۆش. نامەیەکیان لە دژی ئۆرشەلیم بۆ ئەرتەحشەستەی پاشا بەم شێوە نووسی:
9ڕەحومی فەرماندە و شیمشەیی خامەی نهێنی و سەرجەم یاوەرەکانیان، کە لە دادوەر و کاربەدەست و بەرپرسانی گەلی فارس و ئەرەک و بابل و ئیلامییەکانی شوش 10و سەرجەم ئەو نەتەوانە پێکهاتبوون کە ئەشوربەنیپەلی گەورە و بەڕێز ڕاپێچی کردن، لە شاری سامیرە و چەند شوێنێکی دیکە لە هەرێمی ئەوبەری فورات نیشتەجێی کردن.
11ئەمەش وێنەی ئەو نامەیەیە کە بۆیان نارد.

خزمەتکارانت، پیاوانی هەرێمی ئەوبەری فورات:
12با پاشا بزانێت کە ئەو جولەکانەی لەلای تۆوە سەرکەوتن بۆ لامان، هاتوون بۆ ئۆرشەلیم و ئەو شارە یاخی و خراپە بنیاد دەنێنەوە، شووراکانیش تەواو دەکەن و بناغەکان چاک دەکەنەوە.
13با ئێستا لەلای پاشا زانراو بێت کە ئەگەر ئەم شارە بنیاد بنرێتەوە و شووراکانی تەواو بکرێن، چیتر سەرانە و گومرگ و باج نادرێت، لە کۆتاییشدا زیان لە پاشاکان دەکەوێت. 14ئێستاش لەبەر ئەوەی ئێمە نمەکی کۆشکی پاشا دەکەین و شیاویش نییە زیانی پاشا ببینین، لەبەر ئەوە بۆ ئاگادارکردنەوەی پاشا ئەم نامەیە دەنێرین، 15بۆ ئەوەی لێکۆڵینەوەیەک لە ئەرشیفی شاهانەی باوباپیرانتدا بکرێت. ئینجا لە ئەرشیفی شاهانە دەبینیتەوە و دەزانیت کە ئەم شارە شارێکی یاخییە و زیانبەخشە بە پاشاکان و هەرێمەکان، لە دێرزەمانەوە یاخیبوونیان لەناویدا بەرپا کردووە، لەبەر ئەوە ئەم شارە کاول کرا. 16ئێمەش پاشا ئاگادار دەکەینەوە کە ئەگەر ئەم شارە بنیاد بنرێت و شووراکانی تەواو بکرێن، ئیتر لە هەرێمی ئەوبەری فوراتەوە بەشت نابێت.
17پاشا ئەم وەڵامەی نارد:
بۆ ڕەحومی فەرماندە و شیمشەیی خامەی نهێنی و سەرجەم یاوەرەکانیان کە لە سامیرە و شوێنەکانی دیکەی هەرێمی ئەوبەری فورات نیشتەجێن:

18ئەو نامەیەی بۆتان ناردین بە ڕوونی لەبەردەممدا خوێنرایەوە و وەرگێڕدرا. 19فەرمانێکم دەرکرد و لێکۆڵینەوەیەک کرا، دەرکەوت کە ئەم شارە لە دێرزەمانەوە لە دژی پاشایان وەستاوەتەوە و یاخیبوون و سەرپێچیکردنی تێدا بەرپا کراوە. 20ئۆرشەلیم پاشای بە توانای هەبووە و دەسەڵاتیان بەسەر هەموو هەرێمی ئەوبەری فوراتدا ڕۆیشتووە، سەرانە و گومرگ و باجیان پێدراوە. 21ئێستاش فەرمانێک بۆ دەست لە کار هەڵگرتنی ئەم پیاوانە دەربکەن، ئیتر هەتا فەرمان لە منەوە دەرنەچێت ئەو شارە بنیاد نانرێتەوە. 22وریابن لەم کارە کەمتەرخەمی نەکەن، نەوەک زیان بە بەرژەوەندی پاشاکان بگات.
23کاتێک نامەکەی ئەرتەحشەستەی پاشا لەبەردەم ڕەحوم و شیمشەیی خامەی نهێنی و یاوەرەکانیاندا خوێنرایەوە، بە پەلە چوون بۆ ئۆرشەلیم بۆ لای جولەکەکان و بە زەبری هێز لە کارەکە ڕایانگرتن.
