1Miingon ang Ginoo kanako, 2“Tawo, sa unsa nga paagi nga ang sanga sa ubas mas maayo pa kaysa bisan unsang sanga sa kahoy? 3Makahimo ba ug bisag unsa gikan sa mga sanga niini? Mahimo ba kini nga himuon nga sab-itanan? 4Siyempre dili gyud! Pwede lang kini nga isugnod; apan bisan pa gani dali ra kaayo kini nga maupos. 5Busa kon wala kini pulos sa wala pa masunog, labaw na kon nasunog na kini!
6“Karon, ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon nga ang mga nagpuyo sa Jerusalem nahisama sa ubas nga nagatubo uban sa mga kahoy sa lasang. Tungod kay managsama sila nga walay pulos, sunogon ko sila. 7Silotan ko gyud sila. Ug bisan makaikyas pa sila sa kalayo, lamyon gihapon sila sa lain pang kalayo. Unya mahibaloan nila nga ako mao ang Ginoo. 8Himuon ko nga mingaw nga dapit ang ilang nasod tungod kay nagluib sila kanako. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini.”
