1Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them. 2If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. 3If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.21.3 by himself: Heb. with his body 4If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master’s, and he shall go out by himself. 5And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:21.5 shall…: Heb. saying shall say 6Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
7¶ And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. 8If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.21.8 please…: Heb. be evil in the eyes of, etc 9And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. 10If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish. 11And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money.
12¶ He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death. 13And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee. 14But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
15¶ And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
16¶ And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
17¶ And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.21.17 curseth: or, revileth

20¶ And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.21.20 punished: Heb. avenged 21Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.
22¶ If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, 24Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
26¶ And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye’s sake. 27And if he smite out his manservant’s tooth, or his maidservant’s tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth’s sake.
28¶ If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit. 29But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death. 30If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him. 31Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him. 32If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
33¶ And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein; 34The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.
35¶ And if one man’s ox hurt another’s, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide. 36Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.
如何对待奴仆
1“你要向百姓颁布下列法令。 2你若买一个希伯来人当奴仆，他必须服侍你六年，到第七年便可以获得自由，不用支付任何赎金。 3倘若买他的时候，他是单身，那么期满的时候，他可以单身离开。如果他跟妻子一同被买，就可以带妻子一起离开。 4倘若主人给他娶了妻，妻子生了儿女，那么期满的时候，他只能单独离开，他的妻儿要归主人。 5倘若奴仆说，‘我爱我的主人和我的妻子儿女，我不愿意离开他们做自由人。’ 6主人就要带他到审判官面前，让他靠着门或门框，用锥子为他穿耳洞。这样，他就要永远服侍主人。 7倘若有人把女儿卖为奴婢，她不可像男仆那样离开。 8倘若买她的主人本想把她留在身边，后来却不喜欢她，就应当让她赎身。主人无权把她转卖给外族人，因为是主人对她不守信用。 9倘若是买来给自己的儿子，就要把她当作自己的女儿一般看待。 10倘若有人娶了奴婢为妻，后来又另娶，他还是要照常供给她饭食和衣服，并履行同房的义务。 11倘若主人不履行以上的三个条件，奴婢就可以随时离开，不用缴付任何赎金。
如何处理人身伤害
12“打人致死的，必须被处死。 13倘若不是故意杀人，而是上帝许可那人死在他手里，他就可以逃往我指定的地方。 14倘若是蓄意杀人，就算他逃到我的祭坛那里，也要把他拉出来处死。 15殴打父母的，必须被处死。 16绑架他人贩卖或自用的，必须被处死。 17咒骂父母的，必须被处死。 18倘若斗殴时一方用拳头或石块致另一方受伤、躺卧在床，但不至于死， 19日后能起床扶着拐杖走路，伤人者便不算有罪，但要赔偿受伤者停工期间的损失，并要负责医好他。
20“倘若有人用棍子打他的仆婢，导致他们当场死亡，他必须受惩罚。 21倘若伤者过了一两天才死去，主人就可免刑，因为死者是他的财产。 22倘若有人彼此斗殴，伤了孕妇，导致早产，但未造成其他伤害，伤人者要按她丈夫所要求的金额，经审判官判定以后，如数赔偿。 23倘若孕妇身体其他部位也受了伤，伤人者就要以命偿命， 24以眼还眼，以牙还牙，以手还手，以脚还脚， 25以烧伤还烧伤，以创伤还创伤，以殴打还殴打。
26“主人若打坏仆婢的一只眼睛，就要因仆婢眼睛受伤而使仆婢得自由。 27同样，倘若他打掉了仆婢的一颗牙齿，也要因此而释放他。
28“倘若有牛抵死了人，要用石头打死那头牛，并且不可吃它的肉，牛的主人可算无罪。 29但倘若牛常常用角伤人，并且已经有人向牛的主人投诉，他却不拴好牛，以致牛抵死了人，就要用石块打死牛，并处死主人。 30若判他以罚款抵命，不论金额多少，他都得照付。 31牛若抵死了别人的儿女，也要照以上的条例办理。 32牛若抵死了别人的仆婢，牛的主人要赔三百三十克银子21:32 三百三十克银子约是当时一个奴仆的身价。给那仆婢的主人，并要用石头打死牛。 33倘若有人打开井盖或挖了井后不把井口盖好，以致有牛或驴掉进井里， 34井的主人就要赔偿牲畜的主人，死牲畜则归井的主人。 35倘若某人的牛抵死了别人的牛，两家的主人就要卖掉活牛，平分所得，同时也要平分那头死掉的牛。 36倘若素知牛好抵，主人却没有拴好它，他就要以牛还牛，死牛则归他。
