1And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink. 2Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? 3And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? 4And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me. 5And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. 6Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. 7And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?17.7 Massah: that is, Temptation17.7 Meribah: that is, Chiding, or, Strife
8¶ Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim. 9And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.17.9 Joshua: called Jesus 10So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12But Moses’ hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. 13And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. 14And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. 15And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi:17.15 Jehovah-nissi: that is, The LORD my banner 16For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.17.16 Because…: or, Because the hand of Amalek is against the throne of the LORD, therefore, etc17.16 the LORD hath…: Heb. the hand upon the throne of the LORD

1Sumala sa sugo sa Ginoo, mibiya sa kamingawan sa Sin ang tibuok katilingban sa Israel ug nagpadayon sa paglakaw. Nagbalhin-balhin sila ug dapit hangtod nga nakaabot sila sa Refidim ug nagkampo didto. Apan walay tubig nga mainom didto. 2Busa nakiglalis17:2 nakiglalis: o, nakiggira. ang mga tawo kang Moises ug miingon, “Hatagi kamig tubig nga mainom.” Mitubag si Moises, “Nganong nagapakiglalis man kamo kanako? Nganong ginasulayan ninyo ang Ginoo?” 3Apan gipang-uhaw pag-ayo ang mga tawo didto, busa nagsige silag bagulbol kang Moises. Miingon sila, “Nganong gipagawas mo pa kami gikan sa Ehipto kon mangamatay man lang kami dinhi sa kauhaw lakip ang among mga anak ug kahayopan?” 4Busa nagpakitabang si Moises sa Ginoo, “Ginoo, unsa may akong himuon niining mga tawhana? Halos batohon na nila ako sa ilang kasuko!” 5Mitubag ang Ginoo kang Moises, “Kuhaa kadtong imong baston nga gihapak mo sa Suba sa Nilo, ug pag-una sa mga tawo uban sa pipila ka mga tigdumala sa Israel. 6Maghulat ako kanimo didto sa bato sa Horeb.17:6 Horeb: o, Bukid sa Sinai. Bunali ang bato, ug mogawas ang tubig aron makainom ang mga tawo.” Busa gihimo kini ni Moises atubangan sa mga tigdumala sa Israel. 7Ginganlan ni Moises kadtong lugara nga Masa17:7 Masa: Ang buot ipasabot sa Hebreo, pagsulay. ug Meriba,17:7 Meriba: Ang buot ipasabot sa Hebreo, paglalis o, pag-away. tungod kay nakiglalis ang mga Israelinhon kaniya didto ug gisulayan nila ang Ginoo pinaagi sa pag-ingon, “Nagauban ba ang Ginoo kanato o wala?”
Napildi ang mga Amalekanhon
8Sa didto pa ang mga Israelinhon sa Refidim, gisulong sila sa mga Amalekanhon. 9Miingon si Moises kang Josue, “Pagpili ug mga tawo nga makiggira sa mga Amalekanhon. Mobarog ako ugma ibabaw sa bungtod nga dala kadtong baston nga gisugo sa Dios nga kanunay kong dal-on.”
10Busa nakiggira sila si Josue sa mga Amalekanhon sumala sa gisugo ni Moises samtang si Moises, Aaron, ug Hur mitungas sa bungtod. 11Kon ibayaw ni Moises ang iyang kamot, modaog ang mga Israelinhon. Apan kon ipaubos niya ang iyang kamot, modaog ang mga Amalekanhon. 12Apan sa kadugayan, nanghawoy na ang mga kamot ni Moises. Busa mikuhag bato si Aaron ug Hur ug gipalingkoran kini kang Moises. Unya gibayaw ni Aaron ang usa ka kamot ni Moises ug mao usab ang gihimo ni Hur sa pikas kamot hangtod sa pagsalop sa adlaw. 13Busa napildi nila ni Josue ang mga Amalekanhon.
14Unya miingon ang Ginoo kang Moises, “Isulat kini sa libro aron dili malimtan ug ipahibalo kini kang Josue: Puohon ko gayod sa hingpit ang mga Amalekanhon.”
15Naghimo si Moises ug halaran ug gitawag kini nga, “Ang Ginoo mao ang akong Bandera sa Pagdaog.” 16Miingon siya, “Tungod kay gikumoan sa mga Amalekanhon ang trono sa Ginoo, padayon nga makiggira ang Ginoo batok kanila hangtod sa hangtod.”
