Esther 7:1-10

1So the king and Haman came to banquet with Esther the queen.7.1 to banquet: Heb. to drink 2And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom. 3Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request: 4For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king’s damage.7.4 to be destroyed…: Heb. that they should destroy, and kill, and cause to perish

7¶ And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king. 8Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.7.8 before me: Heb. with me 9And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.7.9 gallows: Heb. tree 10So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king’s wrath pacified.

哈曼被处死

1王带着哈曼去赴以斯帖王后的宴席。 2在这第二次宴会中,王在席间又问以斯帖:“以斯帖王后啊,你要什么?我必赐给你。你有何要求?就是半壁江山,也必为你成就。” 3以斯帖回答说:“我若得到王的恩宠,王若愿意,就请王把我的性命和我本族人的性命赐给我——这是我所求的。 4因为我和我本族的人都被卖了,我们将被铲除、杀光、灭尽。如果只是卖我们为奴为婢,我会闭口不语,因为那样的痛苦不值得来打扰王7:4 因为那样的痛苦不值得来打扰王”或译“但王的损失,敌人无法补偿”。。” 5亚哈随鲁王问以斯帖王后:“谁敢这样做?他在哪里?” 6以斯帖回答说:“敌人和仇家就是这恶人哈曼!”哈曼在王和王后面前十分惊恐。

7王大怒,离席去了御花园。哈曼见王定意要惩罚他,便留下来求以斯帖王后饶命。 8王从御花园回到席上,见哈曼伏在以斯帖所靠的榻上,便说:“他竟敢在宫中当着我的面侮辱王后吗?”王这话一出口,便有人蒙了哈曼的脸。 9服侍王的太监哈波拿说:“哈曼为那救驾有功的末底改做了一个二十三米高的木架,如今正立在哈曼家里。”王说:“把哈曼吊在上面!” 10于是,哈曼被吊在他为末底改预备的木架上,王的怒气这才平息。
