1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 6For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
9Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me: 10For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia. 11Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry. 12And Tychicus have I sent to Ephesus. 13The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments. 14Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works: 15Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood our words. 16At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. 17Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 18And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. 2그대는 어떤 형편에서든지 항상 말씀을 전하시오. 끝까지 참고 가르치면서 사람들을 책망하고 꾸짖어 올바로 살도록 권하시오.
3사람들이 바른 교훈을 듣지 않고 오히려 자기 욕심을 따를 것이며 자기들의 귀를 즐겁게 하는 교사들의 말을 들으려고 그들에게 모여들 때가 올 것입니다.
4그들은 진리를 외면하고 쓸데없는 이야기에 귀를 기울일 것입니다.
5그러나 그대는 모든 일에 자제하며 고난을 견디며 전도자의 일을 하며 맡겨진 직무를 완수하시오.
6이미 하나님께 제물로 드려진 나에게 세상을 떠날 때가 가까웠습니다.
7내가 선한 싸움을 싸우고 4:7 또는 ‘나의 달려갈 길을 마치고’모든 일을 다 마치고 믿음을 지켰으니
8이제 남은 것은 의의 면류관을 받는 일뿐입니다. 이것은 의로우신 재판장이신 주님이 재림하시는 날에 나에게 주실 것이며 나에게만 아니라 주님이 다시 오시기를 사모하는 모든 사람들에게 주실 것입니다.

18주님은 모든 악한 일에서 나를 건져내시고 또 하늘 나라에 들어가도록 나를 구원해 주실 것입니다. 그분께 길이길이 영광을 돌립시다. 아멘.
