1主よ、なぜ、遠く離れて立ち、
主を一番必要としているときに、
お隠れになるのですか。
2今来て、貧しい者を邪険に扱う
高慢な者どもに立ち向かってください。
彼らの悪だくみを、その頭上に返してください。
3彼らは、汚れた欲望を自慢し、
主をののしり、
主に忌みきらわれる者どもと意気投合しています。
彼らにとっては、金銭だけが人生の目的なのです。
4この悪者どもは高慢で横柄で、
神は死んだとみなしているようです。
神を求める気持ちなど、毛頭ありません。
5ところが、手がけることは何でも成功し、
敵をなぎ倒していきます。
神の刑罰が待っていることを
考えもしないのです。
6「神も人も大した相手ではない」と
彼らはうそぶきます。
そしてどういうわけか、道を切り開いていくのです。
7彼らの口には、
冒瀆と偽りと欺きとが満ちています。
常に悪だくみを自慢の種にしています。
8薄暗い裏通りで待ち伏せ、
道行く人を殺しています。
9ライオンのように息をひそめてうずくまり、
貧しい者に襲いかかろうとしています。
猟師のように罠をしかけ、えじきにします。
10不運な人は彼らの並はずれた力に圧倒され、
一撃のもとに倒されるのです。
11彼らは自分に言い聞かせます。
「神はこのことを知らない。見てもいない」と。
12ああ主よ、立ち上がってください。
ああ神よ、彼らを御手で倒してください。
どうか、貧しい者を忘れないでください。
13なぜあなたは、
悪者が神を侮るのを放っておかれるのですか。
「神に追及されることはない」と
彼らは高をくくっているのです。
14主よ。あなたは彼らの仕打ちをご存じです。
悪行の数々をじっとごらんになったはずです。
彼らが人々にどれだけ悩みや悲しみを引き起こしたか
ご存じです。
ああ主よ。さあ、罰してください。
貧しい者はあなただけが頼りなのです。
あなたは無力な者を助ける方です。
15悪者どもの腕を折り、
最後の一人まで、追いつめて滅ぼしてください。
16主は永遠から永遠まで王です。
他の神々に従う者は、主の地から一掃されます。
17主よ。
あなたは謙遜な人の望みが何であるかご存じです。
必ずその叫びを聞いて救いの手を差し伸べ、
心に安らぎを与えてくださいます。
18主は、みなしごや虐待されている人たちの
そば近くにいてくださるお方です。
それで彼らは、地上の者たちから、
二度と脅かされることはありません。
