Los territorios de Efraín y Manasés
1El territorio asignado a los descendientes de José comenzaba en el río Jordán,16:1 en el río Jordán. Lit. en el Jordán de Jericó (uno de los antiguos nombres asignados al río Jordán). al este de los manantiales de Jericó; y de allí ascendía hacia la región montañosa de Betel, a través del desierto. 2De Betel, es decir, Luz,16:2 De Betel, es decir, Luz (véase v. 1 de LXX); De Betel hacia Luz (TM). continuaba hacia el territorio de los arquitas hasta Astarot, 3descendía hacia el oeste al territorio de los jafletitas hasta la región de Bet Jorón de Abajo y Guézer, y terminaba en el mar Mediterráneo. 4Así fue como las tribus de Manasés y Efraín, descendientes de José, recibieron como herencia sus territorios.
El territorio de Efraín
5Este es el territorio que recibieron la tribu de Efraín y sus respectivos clanes:
En el lado oriental sus límites se extendían desde Atarot Adar hasta Bet Jorón de Arriba, 6y llegaban hasta el mar Mediterráneo. En Micmetat, que está al norte, hacían una curva hacia el oriente rumbo a Tanat Siló y de allí llegaban a Janoa. 7Descendían de Janoa hacia Atarot y Nará, pasando por Jericó hasta llegar al río Jordán. 8De Tapúaj, la frontera seguía hacia el occidente rumbo al arroyo de Caná y terminaba en el mar Mediterráneo. Este es el territorio que recibió como herencia la tribu de Efraín por sus clanes. 9El territorio también incluía las ciudades y sus respectivas aldeas que se encontraban en el territorio asignado a la tribu de Manasés.
10Los efraimitas no expulsaron a los cananeos que vivían en Guézer; les permitieron vivir entre ellos, como sucede hasta el día de hoy, pero los sometieron a trabajos forzados.
Allotment for Ephraim and Manasseh
1The allotment for Joseph began at the Jordan, east of the springs of Jericho, and went up from there through the desert into the hill country of Bethel. 2It went on from Bethel (that is, Luz),16:2 Septuagint; Hebrew Bethel to Luz crossed over to the territory of the Arkites in Ataroth, 3descended westward to the territory of the Japhletites as far as the region of Lower Beth Horon and on to Gezer, ending at the Mediterranean Sea.
4So Manasseh and Ephraim, the descendants of Joseph, received their inheritance.
5This was the territory of Ephraim, according to its clans:
The boundary of their inheritance went from Ataroth Addar in the east to Upper Beth Horon 6and continued to the Mediterranean Sea. From Mikmethath on the north it curved eastward to Taanath Shiloh, passing by it to Janoah on the east. 7Then it went down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarah, touched Jericho and came out at the Jordan. 8From Tappuah the border went west to the Kanah Ravine and ended at the Mediterranean Sea. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Ephraimites, according to its clans. 9It also included all the towns and their villages that were set aside for the Ephraimites within the inheritance of the Manassites.
10They did not dislodge the Canaanites living in Gezer; to this day the Canaanites live among the people of Ephraim but are required to do forced labor.
