Mʼndandanda wa Ayuda amene Anabwerera

1Awa ndi anthu a mʼchigawo cha Yuda amene anabwerako ku ukapolo, amene Nebukadinezara mfumu ya ku Babuloni anawagwira ukapolo ndi kupita nawo ku Babuloni (iwo anabwerera ku Yerusalemu ndi ku Yuda, aliyense ku mzinda wake. 2Iwo anabwerera pamodzi ndi Zerubabeli, Yesuwa, Nehemiya, Seruya, Reelaya, Mordekai, Bilisani, Misipara, Bigivai, Rehumu ndi Baana).

59Anthu ali mʼmunsiwa anabwera kuchokera ku mizinda ya Teli-Mela, Teli-Harisa, Kerubi, Adoni ndi Imeri, ngakhale samatha kutsimikiza kuti mafuko awo analidi Aisraeli enieni kapena ayi:

60Zidzukulu za Delaya, zidzukulu za Tobiya, ndi zidzukulu za Nekoda. Onse pamodzi anali 652.

61Ndi ena pakati pa ansembe anali awa:

Zidzukulu za   Hobiya, Hakozi, ndi Barizilai (Zidzukulu za Hobiya, zidzukulu za Hakozi ndi zidzukulu za Barizilai. Barizilai ameneyu ndi uja anakwatira mmodzi mwa ana aakazi a Barizilai Mgiliyadi ndipo ankadziwika ndi dzina la bambo wawoyo.)

62Amenewa anafufuza mayina awo mʼbuku lofotokoza mbiri ya mafuko awo, koma mayinawo sanawapezemo, choncho anawachotsa pa unsembe ngati anthu odetsedwa pa zachipembedzo. 63Bwanamkubwa anawawuza anthuwo kuti asamadye nawo mpaka atapezeka wansembe wodziwa kuwombeza ndi Urimu ndi Tumimu.

64Chiwerengero cha anthu onse pamodzi chinali 42,360, 65kuwonjezera pamenepo, panalinso antchito awo aamuna ndi aakazi okwanira 7,337. Analinso ndi amuna ndi akazi oyimba nyimbo okwanira 200. 66Anali ndi akavalo 736, nyulu 245, 67ngamira 435 ndi abulu 6,720.

68Atafika ku Nyumba ya Yehova mu Yerusalemu, ena mwa atsogoleri a mabanja anapereka zopereka zaufulu zothandizira kumanganso Nyumba ya Mulungu pamalo pake pakale. 69Anapereka kwa msungichuma wa ntchitoyo molingana ndi mmene aliyense chuma chake chinalili: golide wa makilogalamu 500, siliva makilogalamu 2,800 ndi zovala za ansembe zokwanira 100.

70Ansembe, Alevi, oyimba nyimbo, alonda ndi antchito a ku Nyumba ya Yehova pamodzi ndi Aisraeli ena onse ankakhala mʼmidzi ya makolo awo.

The List of the Exiles Who Returned

1Now these are the people of the province who came up from the captivity of the exiles, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken captive to Babylon (they returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to their own town, 2in company with Zerubbabel, Joshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum and Baanah):

59The following came up from the towns of Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Kerub, Addon and Immer, but they could not show that their families were descended from Israel:

61And from among the priests:

The descendants ofHobaiah, Hakkoz and Barzillai (a man who had married a daughter of Barzillai the Gileadite and was called by that name).

62These searched for their family records, but they could not find them and so were excluded from the priesthood as unclean. 63The governor ordered them not to eat any of the most sacred food until there was a priest ministering with the Urim and Thummim.

64The whole company numbered 42,360, 65besides their 7,337 male and female slaves; and they also had 200 male and female singers. 66They had 736 horses, 245 mules, 67435 camels and 6,720 donkeys.

68When they arrived at the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, some of the heads of the families gave freewill offerings toward the rebuilding of the house of God on its site. 69According to their ability they gave to the treasury for this work 61,000 darics2:69 That is, about 1,100 pounds or about 500 kilograms of gold, 5,000 minas2:69 That is, about 3 tons or about 2.8 metric tons of silver and 100 priestly garments.

70The priests, the Levites, the musicians, the gatekeepers and the temple servants settled in their own towns, along with some of the other people, and the rest of the Israelites settled in their towns.
