Манасса – царь Иудеи
(2 Лет. 33:1-10, 18-20)
1Манассе было двенадцать лет, когда он стал царём, и правил он в Иерусалиме пятьдесят пять лет. Его мать звали Хефцибах. 2Он делал зло в глазах Вечного, следуя омерзительным обычаям народов, которых Вечный прогнал от исроильтян. 3Он отстроил капища на возвышенностях, которые разрушил его отец Езекия, воздвиг жертвенники Баалу и сделал столб Ашеры по примеру Ахава, царя Исроила. Он поклонялся всем звёздам на небе и служил им. 4Он построил жертвенники в храме Вечного, о котором Вечный сказал: «В Иерусалиме Я буду пребывать». 5В обоих дворах храма Вечного он построил жертвенники всем звёздам на небе. 6Он принёс сына в огненную жертву, гадал, и ворожил, и общался с вызывателями умерших и чародеями. Он сделал много зла в глазах Вечного, вызывая Его гнев.
7Он взял резного идола Ашеры, которого сделал, и поставил его в храме, о котором Вечный говорил Довуду и его сыну Сулаймону: «В этом храме и в Иерусалиме, который Я избрал среди всех родов Исроила, Я буду пребывать вовеки. 8Я не дам впредь ногам исроильтян выйти из той земли, которую Я дал их предкам, если только они будут исполнять всё, что Я повелел им, и соблюдать Закон, который дал им Мой раб Мусо».
9Но народ не послушал. Манасса сбил их с пути, и они стали делать больше зла, чем те народы, которых Вечный истребил перед исроильтянами. 10Вечный говорил через Своих рабов пророков:
11– Манасса, царь Иудеи, совершил омерзительные грехи. Он сделал больше зла, чем аморреи, которые были перед ним, и ввёл Иудею в грех своими идолами. 12Поэтому так говорит Вечный, Бог Исроила: «Я наведу на Иерусалим и Иудею такую беду, что у того, кто услышит о ней, зазвенит в ушах. 13Я накажу Иерусалим так же сурово, как Сомарию и дом Ахава21:13 Букв.: «Я протяну над Иерусалимом мерную нить Сомарии и свинцовый отвес дома Ахава». Мерная нить и свинцовый отвес, обычно используемые в строительстве, здесь становятся символами разрушения.. Я вытру Иерусалим, как вытирают блюдо, – вытирают и переворачивают. 14Я покину оставшихся от Моего наследия людей и отдам их в руки врагов. Все их враги будут обирать их и грабить, 15потому что они делали зло в Моих глазах и вызывали Мой гнев с того дня, как их предки вышли из Египта, по сегодняшний день».
16Манасса пролил столько безвинной крови, что наполнил Иерусалим от края до края, – и это не считая греха, к которому он склонил Иудею, чтобы они делали зло в глазах Вечного.
17Прочие события царствования Манассы и всё, что он сделал, и грех, который он совершил, записаны в «Книге летописей царей Иудеи». 18Манасса упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен в саду своего дворца, в саду Уззы. И царём вместо него стал его сын Амон.
Амон – царь Иудеи
(2 Лет. 33:21-25)
19Амону было двадцать два года, когда он стал царём, и правил он в Иерусалиме два года. Его мать звали Мешуллемет, она была дочерью Харуца, родом из Иотбы. 20Амон делал зло в глазах Вечного, как и его отец Манасса. 21Он ходил всеми путями отца, служил идолам, которым служил отец, и поклонялся им. 22Он оставил Вечного, Бога его предков, и не ходил путём Вечного.
23Приближённые Амона составили против него заговор и убили царя в его дворце. 24Но народ страны перебил всех, кто был в заговоре против царя Амона, и сделал царём вместо него его сына Иосию.
25Прочие события царствования Амона и то, что он сделал, записано в «Книге летописей царей Иудеи». 26Его похоронили в его гробнице в саду Уззы. И царём вместо него стал его сын Иосия.
1Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hephzi-bah. 2And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel. 3For he built up again the high places which Hezekiah his father had destroyed; and he reared up altars for Baal, and made a grove, as did Ahab king of Israel; and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them. 4And he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD said, In Jerusalem will I put my name. 5And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD. 6And he made his son pass through the fire, and observed times, and used enchantments, and dealt with familiar spirits and wizards: he wrought much wickedness in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. 7And he set a graven image of the grove that he had made in the house, of which the LORD said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever: 8Neither will I make the feet of Israel move any more out of the land which I gave their fathers; only if they will observe to do according to all that I have commanded them, and according to all the law that my servant Moses commanded them. 9But they hearkened not: and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than did the nations whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.
10¶ And the LORD spake by his servants the prophets, saying, 11Because Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations, and hath done wickedly above all that the Amorites did, which were before him, and hath made Judah also to sin with his idols: 12Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle. 13And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down.21.13 wiping…: Heb. he wipeth and turneth it upon the face thereof 14And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies; 15Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day. 16Moreover Manasseh shed innocent blood very much, till he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another; beside his sin wherewith he made Judah to sin, in doing that which was evil in the sight of the LORD.21.16 from…: Heb. from mouth to mouth
17¶ Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 18And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
19¶ Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah. 20And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did. 21And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them: 22And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD.
23¶ And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house. 24And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead. 25Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 26And he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.21.26 Josiah: Gr.
