Юсуф толкует сны фараона
1Прошло два года, и фараону приснился сон: он стоял на берегу Нила, 2и вот из реки поднялись семь коров – гладких и жирных – и стали пастись в тростниках. 3Вслед за ними вышли из Нила другие семь коров – безобразных и тощих – и встали рядом с теми на берегу реки. 4И безобразные, тощие коровы пожрали семь гладких, жирных коров. Тут фараон проснулся.
5Он заснул вновь, и ему приснился другой сон: семь колосьев – здоровых и полных – росли на одном стебле. 6Вслед за ними выросли ещё семь колосьев – тощих и опалённых восточным ветром. 7Тощие колосья проглотили семь здоровых, полных колосьев. Тут фараон проснулся, это был сон.
8Утром его не оставляла тревога. Он созвал всех чародеев и мудрецов Египта и рассказал им свои сны, но никто не смог их истолковать.
9Тогда главный виночерпий сказал фараону:
– Теперь я вспоминаю, что провинился. 10Однажды фараон разгневался на своих слуг и заключил меня и главного пекаря в доме начальника стражи. 11И мне, и ему в одну и ту же ночь приснился сон, и каждый сон имел своё значение. 12Там с нами был молодой еврей, слуга начальника стражи. Мы рассказали ему наши сны, и он истолковал их нам; каждому он дал своё толкование. 13И как он истолковал, так всё и вышло: меня возвратили на прежнюю службу, а того посадили на кол.
14Фараон послал за Юсуфом, и его спешно привели из темницы. Он подстригся, сменил одежду и предстал перед фараоном. 15Фараон сказал Юсуфу:
– Мне приснился сон, и никто не может его истолковать. Но я слышал о тебе, что ты понимаешь сны и умеешь толковать их.
16Юсуф ответил:
– Не я, но Всевышний даст фараону ответ во благо.
17Фараон сказал Юсуфу:
– Мне снилось, что я стою на берегу Нила, 18и вдруг из реки поднялись семь коров, жирных и гладких, и стали пастись в тростниках. 19Вслед за ними поднялись семь других коров – костлявых, худых и таких безобразных, каких я никогда прежде не видел во всей земле египетской. 20Тощие, безобразные коровы пожрали семь жирных коров, которые вышли первыми. 21Но это не пошло им впрок: они остались такими же безобразными, как и прежде. Тут я проснулся.
22Потом я видел во сне семь колосьев на одном стебле, полных доброго зерна. 23Вслед за ними выросли другие семь колосьев – сухие, тощие и опалённые восточным ветром. 24Тощие колосья проглотили семь полных колосьев. Я рассказал чародеям, но никто не смог дать мне объяснение.
25Юсуф сказал фараону:
– Смысл обоих снов фараона один. Всевышний открыл фараону, что Он собирается сделать. 26Семь хороших коров – это семь лет, и семь хороших колосьев – это семь лет; смысл тот же. 27Семь худых, безобразных коров, которые пришли следом, – это семь лет, и так же – семь тощих колосьев, опалённых восточным ветром, – это семь лет голода.
28Вот что я имел в виду, когда сказал фараону, что Всевышний открыл ему Свои замыслы. 29В земле египетской наступают семь лет великого изобилия, 30а за ними последуют семь лет голода, когда всё изобилие в Египте будет забыто, и голод опустошит землю. 31Прежнее изобилие забудется в этой земле из-за голода, который последует за ним, потому что голод будет жестокий. 32А то, что сон повторился фараону дважды, означает, что Всевышний твёрдо определил это и вскоре исполнит Свой замысел.
33Пусть же фараон найдёт проницательного и мудрого человека и поставит его над землёй Египта. 34Пусть фараон назначит чиновников по всей стране, чтобы они собирали пятую часть урожая в Египте в те семь лет изобилия. 35Пусть в те добрые годы они собирают всё продовольствие, что поступает к ним, и пусть властью фараона запасают зерно и хранят его в городах. 36Это продовольствие будет для страны про запас, чтобы страна не погибла в те семь лет голода, которые потом будут в Египте.
Юсуф назначается главным правителем Египта
37Фараон и все его приближённые одобрили этот план. 38Фараон спросил своих приближённых:
– Найдём ли мы ещё такого, как этот человек, в котором Дух Всевышнего?
39И фараон сказал Юсуфу:
– Раз Всевышний открыл тебе всё это, значит, нет никого мудрее и проницательнее тебя. 40Я ставлю тебя над моим домом, и весь мой народ будет слушаться твоих приказов. Только троном я буду выше тебя.
41Фараон сказал Юсуфу:
– Смотри, я ставлю тебя над всей землёй Египта.
42Он снял с пальца свой перстень и надел на палец Юсуфу, он одел его в одежды из тонкого полотна и повесил ему на шею золотую цепь. 43Он велел возить его в колеснице как второго после себя41:43 Или: «в колеснице второго после себя»; или: «в своей второй колеснице». и кричать перед ним: «Дорогу!»41:43 Или: «Кланяйтесь!» Так он поставил его над всей землёй Египта.
44Фараон сказал Юсуфу:
– Я фараон, но без твоего слова никто во всём Египте не посмеет и пальцем шевельнуть.
45Он дал Юсуфу имя Цафнат-Панеах и отдал ему в жёны Асенефу, дочь Потифера, жреца города Она41:45 То есть Гелиополь; также в ст. 50 и 46:20.. И Юсуф отправился в путь по всей египетской земле41:45 Или: «получил власть над всей землёй египетской»; или: «путешествовал по всей земле египетской»; так же в ст. 46..
46Юсуфу было тридцать лет, когда он поступил на службу к фараону, царю Египта. Юсуф вышел от фараона и отправился в путь по всему Египту. 47В семь лет изобилия земля приносила богатый урожай. 48Юсуф собирал весь урожай тех семи лет изобилия в Египте и складывал его в городах; в каждом городе он складывал урожай с окрестных полей. 49Собранного Юсуфом зерна было так много, как песка в море, и он перестал вести ему счёт, потому что сосчитать его было невозможно.
50Прежде чем пришли годы голода, у Юсуфа родились два сына от Асенефы, дочери Потифера, жреца города Она. 51Юсуф назвал своего первенца Манасса («дать забыть») и сказал: «Это потому, что Всевышний дал мне забыть все мои страдания и дом моего отца». 52Второго сына он назвал Ефраим («быть плодовитым»), сказав: «Это потому, что Всевышний сделал меня плодовитым в земле моего страдания».
53Семь лет изобилия в Египте подошли к концу, 54и начались семь лет голода, как Юсуф и предсказал. Голод был во всех других землях, только в земле Египта была пища.
55Когда весь Египет начал голодать, люди взмолились к фараону о пище, и фараон сказал египтянам:
– Идите к Юсуфу и делайте, как он скажет.
56Когда голод распространился по всей стране, Юсуф открыл склады и стал продавать зерно египтянам, потому что голод в Египте был жестокий.
57И из всех стран приходили в Египет, чтобы купить у Юсуфа зерна, потому что по всему миру был жестокий голод.
1And it came to pass at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh dreamed: and, behold, he stood by the river. 2And, behold, there came up out of the river seven well favoured kine and fatfleshed; and they fed in a meadow. 3And, behold, seven other kine came up after them out of the river, ill favoured and leanfleshed; and stood by the other kine upon the brink of the river. 4And the ill favoured and leanfleshed kine did eat up the seven well favoured and fat kine. And Pharaoh awoke, and, behold, it was a dream. 8And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh.
9¶ Then spake the chief butler unto Pharaoh, saying, I do remember my faults this day: 10Pharaoh was wroth with his servants, and put me in ward in the captain of the guard’s house, both me and the chief baker: 11And we dreamed a dream in one night, I and he; we dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream. 12And there was there with us a young man, an Hebrew, servant to the captain of the guard; and we told him, and he interpreted to us our dreams; to each man according to his dream he did interpret. 13And it came to pass, as he interpreted to us, so it was; me he restored unto mine office, and him he hanged.

17And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, In my dream, behold, I stood upon the bank of the river: 18And, behold, there came up out of the river seven kine, fatfleshed and well favoured; and they fed in a meadow: 19And, behold, seven other kine came up after them, poor and very ill favoured and leanfleshed, such as I never saw in all the land of Egypt for badness: 20And the lean and the ill favoured kine did eat up the first seven fat kine: 21And when they had eaten them up, it could not be known that they had eaten them; but they were still ill favoured, as at the beginning. 25¶ And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do. 26The seven good kine are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years: the dream is one. 27And the seven thin and ill favoured kine that came up after them are seven years; and the seven empty ears blasted with the east wind shall be seven years of famine. 28This is the thing which I have spoken unto Pharaoh: What God is about to do he sheweth unto Pharaoh. 29Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt: 30And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt; and the famine shall consume the land; 31And the plenty shall not be known in the land by reason of that famine following; for it shall be very grievous.41.31 grievous: Heb. heavy 32And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.41.32 established…: or, prepared of God
33Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt. 34Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.41.34 officers: or, overseers 35And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities. 36And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.41.36 perish…: Heb. be not cut off
37¶ And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants. 38And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? 39And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: 40Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.41.40 be ruled: Heb. be armed, or, kiss 41And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. 42And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;41.42 fine…: or, silk 43And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.41.43 Bow…: or, Tender father: Heb. 46¶ And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt. 47And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls. 48And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same. 49And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number. 50And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.41.50 priest: or, prince 51And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.41.51 Manasseh: that is, Forgetting 52And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.41.52 Ephraim: that is, Fruitful
53¶ And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended. 54And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread. 55And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do. 56And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.41.56 all the storehouses: Heb. all wherein was 57And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.
