1En sang af David.
Jorden og alt, hvad der er på den, tilhører Herren,
hele verden og alle, som bor i den.
2Han grundlagde jorden på verdenshavene,
dens fundament lagde han på havets dyb.
3Hvem kan stige op på Herrens bjerg?
Hvem har lov at gå ind i hans helligdom?
4De, som har rene motiver og gør det gode,
som ikke tilbeder afguder eller sværger falsk.
5Sådanne mennesker bliver velsignet af Gud
og nyder godt af hans trofasthed og godhed.
6Kun de må komme ind i Herrens nærhed
og tilbede Jakobs Gud.
7Luk de ældgamle døre vidt op,
gør plads i byens indgangsport,
så den almægtige Konge kan komme ind.
8Hvem er den almægtige Konge?
Det er Herren, som er stærk og mægtig.
Det er Herren, som vinder enhver kamp.

A psalm of David.
1The earth belongs to the Lord. And so does everything in it.
The world belongs to him. And so do all those who live in it.
2He set it firmly on the oceans.
He made it secure on the waters.
3Who can go up to the temple on the mountain of the Lord?
Who can stand in his holy place?
4Anyone who has clean hands and a pure heart.
Anyone who does not trust in the statue of a god.
Anyone who doesn’t use the name of that god when he makes a promise.
5People like that will receive the Lord’s blessing.
When God their Savior hands down his sentence, it will be in their favor.
6The people who look to God are like that.
God of Jacob, they look to you.
7Open wide, you gates.
Open up, you ancient doors.
Then the King of glory will come in.
8Who is the King of glory?
The Lord, who is strong and mighty.
The Lord, who is mighty in battle.
