11Mitsraïm fut l’ancêtre des Loudim, des Anamim, des Lehabim, des Naphtouim, 12des Patrousim, des Kaslouhim – dont sont issus les Philistins1.12 Les Philistins, peuple indo-européen, ont tout d’abord émigré en Crète (voir Jr 47.4 ; Am 9.7) puis ont envahi l’Egypte au début du xiie siècle av. J.-C. Chassés de cette région, ils se sont installés sur la côte de Canaan pour étendre plus tard leur influence sur presque tout le pays. – et des Crétois.
13Canaan eut pour fils Sidon, son aîné, et Heth. 14De lui descendent les Yebousiens, les Amoréens, les Guirgasiens, 15les Héviens, les Arqiens, les Siniens, 16les Arvadiens, les Tsemariens et les Hamathiens.

43Voici les rois qui ont régné dans le pays d’Edom, avant qu’il y ait un roi en Israël : Béla, fils de Béor ; sa ville s’appelait Dinhaba. 44Après sa mort, Yobab, fils de Zérah, de Botsra, régna à sa place. 45Yobab mourut et Housham, du pays des Témanites, régna à sa place. 46Après la mort de Housham, Hadad, fils de Bedad, régna à sa place. Il battit les Madianites dans la campagne de Moab ; il venait de la ville d’Avith. 47Après la mort de Hadad, Samla, de Masréqa, régna à sa place. 48Puis après la mort de Samla, Saül, de Rehoboth sur le fleuve, régna à sa place. 49Après la mort de Saül, Baal-Hanân, fils d’Akbor, régna à sa place. 50Après la mort de Baal-Hanân, Hadad régna à sa place. The Sons of Shem
17The sons of Shem were
Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram.
The sons of Aram were
Uz, Hul, Gether and Meshek.
18Arphaxad was the father of Shelah.
Shelah was the father of Eber.
19Eber was the father of two sons.
One was named Peleg. That’s because the earth was divided up in his time. His brother was named Joktan.
20Joktan was the father of
Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth and Jerah. 21He was also the father of Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 22Obal, Abimael, Sheba, 23Ophir, Havilah and Jobab. All of them were sons of Joktan.

44When Bela died, Jobab became the next king. Jobab was the son of Zerah from Bozrah.
45When Jobab died, Husham became the next king. Husham was from the land of the people of Teman.
46When Husham died, Hadad became the next king. Hadad was the son of Bedad. Hadad had won the battle over Midian in the country of Moab. Hadad’s city was called Avith.
47When Hadad died, Samlah became the next king. Samlah was from Masrekah.
48When Samlah died, Shaul became the next king. Shaul was from the town of Rehoboth. It was by a river.
49When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan became the next king. Baal-Hanan was the son of Akbor.
50When Baal-Hanan died, Hadad became the next king. Hadad’s city was called Pau. His wife’s name was Mehetabel. She was the daughter of Matred. Matred was the daughter of Me-Zahab. 51Hadad also died.
The chiefs of Edom were
Timna, Alvah, Jetheth, 52Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, 53Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, 54Magdiel and Iram.
