Ang Tawo nga Singkaw ug Kamot
(Mat. 12:9-14; Luc. 6:1-11)
1Mibalik pag-usab si Jesus sa sinagoga sa mga Judio ug may tawo didto nga singkaw ug kamot. 2Tungod kay ang mga Pariseo nangita ug pamaagi nga ikasumbong nila si Jesus, gibantayan nila kon ayohon niya kadtong tawo sa Adlaw nga Igpapahulay. 3Miingon si Jesus sa tawo nga singkaw ug kamot, “Dali dinhi sa atubangan.” 4Unya nangutana siya sa mga Pariseo, “Unsa ba ang gitugot sa atong Kasugoan sa Adlaw nga Igpapahulay: ang paghimo ug maayo sa mga tawo, o ang paghimo ug daotan? Ang pagluwas sa ilang kinabuhi, o ang pagpatay?” Apan wala gayoy mitubag. 5Nasubo si Jesus tungod sa katig-a sa ilang kasingkasing ug masuk-anon nga mitan-aw kanila. Unya miingon siya sa tawo nga singkaw ug kamot, “Ituy-od ang imong kamot!” Gituy-od niya, ug naayo kini. 6Human niadto migawas ang mga Pariseo ug nakigkita sa mga tinun-an ni Haring Herodes. Nagplano sila kon unsaon nila pagpatay si Jesus.
Daghang mga Tawo sa Daplin sa Linaw
7Si Jesus ug ang iyang mga tinun-an miadto sa daplin sa Linaw sa Galilea. Misunod kanila ang daghang mga tawo nga gikan sa Galilea ug Judea. 8Daghan usab ang gikan sa Jerusalem, sa Idumea, sa tabok sa Jordan ug sa palibot sa Tyre ug Sidon, kay nadungog nila ang iyang gipangbuhat. 9Tungod sa kadaghan sa mga tawo giingnan niya ang iyang mga tinun-an nga mag-andam ug sakayan alang kaniya, aron may masakyan siya kon magduot kaniya ang mga tawo. 10Tungod kay daghan na ang iyang gipang-ayo, ang tanan nga may sakit nagailog sa paghikap kaniya. 11Ug kon makita siya sa mga tawo nga may daotan nga mga espiritu, mohapa sila sa iyang atubangan ug mosinggit, “Ikaw ang Anak sa Dios!” 12Apan gipahimangnoan gayod niya ang mga daotang espiritu nga dili mosugilon kon kinsa siya.
Gipili ni Jesus ang dose ka Apostoles
(Mat. 10:1-4; Luc. 6:12-16)
13Human niadto, mitungas si Jesus sa bukid ug iyang gitawag ang gusto niya nga pilion, ug miduol sila kaniya. 14Ug mipili siya ug dose nga mahimo niyang kauban [nga iya usab gitawag mga apostoles]. Gipadala niya sila aron sa pagwali ug 15gihatagan niyag gahom sa paghingilin sa mga daotang espiritu. 16Mao kini ang dose nga iyang gipili: si Simon (nga iyang ginganlan ug Pedro), 17sila si Santiago ug si Juan nga mga anak ni Zebede (nga ginganlan niya ug Boanerges nga ang buot ipasabot, mga anak sa dalogdog), 18si Andres, si Felipe, si Bartolomeo, si Mateo, si Tomas, si Santiago nga anak ni Alfeo, si Tadeus, si Simon (nga kaniadto rebelde sa gobyerno sa Roma), 19ug si Judas Iscariote nga sa kaulahian mitraidor kaniya.
Si Jesus ug si Satanas
(Mat. 12:22-32; Luc. 11:14-23; 12:10)
20Pagkahuman, mipauli si Jesus sa balay nga iyang ginasak-an. Ug nagtigom pag-usab ang mga tawo didto, busa si Jesus ug ang iyang mga tinun-an wala nay panahon bisan sa pagpangaon. 21Pagkadungog sa iyang pamilya mahitungod sa mga gipangbuhat ni Jesus, miadto sila didto aron kuhaon siya, kay naga-ingon ang mga tawo nga nabuang siya.
22Ang mga magtutudlo sa Kasugoan nga miabot gikan sa Jerusalem miingon, “Gisudlan siya ni Satanas3:22 Satanas: sa Griego, Beelzebul. nga pangulo sa mga daotang espiritu. Busa pinaagi sa gahom ni Satanas ginahinginlan niya ang daotan nga mga espiritu.” 23Gipaduol ni Jesus ang mga tawo kaniya, ug misulti siya kanila pinaagi niini nga mga sambingay, “Dili mahimo nga si Satanas mohingilin sa iyang mga kauban. 24Kon ang mga lumulupyo sa usa ka gingharian magkabahin-bahin, kana nga gingharian dili magpadayon. 25Mao usab ang mahitabo sa usa ka panimalay kon ang mga nagapuyo magkabahin-bahin. 26Busa mao usab kana ang mahitabo kon si Satanas ug ang iyang mga sakop magkabahin-bahin ug mag-unay; ang iyang gingharian dili magpadayon kondili mabungkag hinuon.”
27“Sa pagkatinuod, walay tawo nga makasulod sa balay sa kusgan nga tawo aron pagkuha sa iyang mga kabtangan kon dili una niya gapuson kanang kusgan nga tawo. Kon magapos na niya, makakuha na siya sa mga kabtangan niana nga balay.”
28“Sultihan ko kamo sa tinuod, ang tanan nga matang sa sala ug mga pagsulti ug daotan batok sa Dios mapasaylo, 29apan si bisan kinsa nga mosulti ug daotan batok sa Espiritu Santo dili gayod mapasaylo. Kini nga sala dili gayod mapasaylo bisan kanus-a.” 30Gisulti kini ni Jesus kay naga-ingon ang mga magtutudlo sa Kasugoan nga aduna siyay daotan nga espiritu.
Ang Inahan ug mga Igsoon ni Jesus
(Mat. 12:46-50; Luc. 8:19-21)
31Unya miabot ang inahan ug ang mga igsoon ni Jesus. Samtang nagtindog sila didto sa gawas sa balay gipatawag nila siya. 32Daghan ang mga tawo didto nga naglingkod sa palibot ni Jesus. Ug miingon ang mga tawo kaniya, “Ang imong inahan ug mga igsoon anaa sa gawas ug gipatawag ka nila.” 33Miingon siya, “Nasayod ba kamo kon kinsa ang akong inahan ug mga igsoon?” 34Mitan-aw siya sa mga tawo nga naglingkod sa palibot duol niya ug miingon, “Mao kini sila ang akong inahan ug mga igsoon! 35Si bisan kinsa nga nagahimo sa kabubut-on sa Dios mao ang akong inahan ug mga igsoon.”
Jesus Heals on the Sabbath Day
1Another time Jesus went into the synagogue. A man with a weak and twisted hand was there. 2Some Pharisees were trying to find fault with Jesus. They watched him closely. They wanted to see if he would heal the man on the Sabbath day. 3Jesus spoke to the man with the weak and twisted hand. “Stand up in front of everyone,” he said.
4Then Jesus asked them, “What does the Law say we should do on the Sabbath day? Should we do good? Or should we do evil? Should we save life? Or should we kill?” But no one answered.
5Jesus looked around at them in anger. He was very upset because their hearts were stubborn. Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand had become as good as new. 6Then the Pharisees went out and began to make plans with the Herodians. They wanted to kill Jesus.
Crowds Follow Jesus
7Jesus went off to the Sea of Galilee with his disciples. A large crowd from Galilee followed. 8People heard about all that Jesus was doing. And many came to him. They came from Judea, Jerusalem and Idumea. They came from the lands east of the Jordan River. And they came from the area around Tyre and Sidon. 9Because of the crowd, Jesus told his disciples to get a small boat ready for him. This would keep the people from crowding him. 10Jesus had healed many people. So those who were sick were pushing forward to touch him. 11When people controlled by evil spirits saw him, they fell down in front of him. The spirits shouted, “You are the Son of God!” 12But Jesus ordered them not to tell people about him.
Jesus Appoints the Twelve Disciples
13Jesus went up on a mountainside. He called for certain people to come to him, and they came. 14He appointed 12 of them so that they would be with him. He would also send them out to preach. 15And he gave them authority to drive out demons.
16So Jesus appointed the 12 disciples.
Simon was one of them. Jesus gave him the name Peter.
17There were James, son of Zebedee, and his brother John. Jesus gave them the name Boanerges. Boanerges means Sons of Thunder.
18There were also Andrew,
Philip,
Bartholomew,
Matthew,
Thomas,
and James, son of Alphaeus.
And there were Thaddaeus
and Simon the Zealot.
19Judas Iscariot was one of them too. He was the one who was later going to hand Jesus over to his enemies.
Jesus Is Accused by Teachers of the Law
20Jesus entered a house. Again a crowd gathered. It was so large that Jesus and his disciples were not even able to eat. 21His family heard about this. So they went to take charge of him. They said, “He is out of his mind.”
22Some teachers of the law were there. They had come down from Jerusalem. They said, “He is controlled by Beelzebul! He is driving out demons by the power of the prince of demons.”
23So Jesus called them over to him. He began to speak to them using stories. He said, “How can Satan drive out Satan? 24If a kingdom fights against itself, it can’t stand. 25If a family is divided, it can’t stand. 26And if Satan fights against himself, and his helpers are divided, he can’t stand. That is the end of him. 27In fact, none of you can enter a strong man’s house unless you tie him up first. Then you can steal things from his house. 28What I’m about to tell you is true. Everyone’s sins and evil words against God will be forgiven. 29But whoever speaks evil things against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven. Their guilt will last forever.”
30Jesus said this because the teachers of the law were saying, “He has an evil spirit.”
Jesus’ Mother and Brothers
31Jesus’ mother and brothers came and stood outside. They sent someone in to get him. 32A crowd was sitting around Jesus. They told him, “Your mother and your brothers are outside. They are looking for you.”
33“Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” he asked.
34Then Jesus looked at the people sitting in a circle around him. He said, “Here is my mother! Here are my brothers! 35Anyone who does what God wants is my brother or sister or mother.”
