Ang Pagkabanhaw ni Jesus
(Mat. 28:1-10; Mar. 16:1-8; Juan 20:1-10)
1Sayo pa kaayo sa buntag sa Adlawng Dominggo, miadto ang mga babaye sa lubnganan nga dala ang ilang giandam nga mga pahumot. 2Pag-abot nila didto, nakita nila nga ang bato nga gitabon sa lubnganan naligid na. 3Misulod sila, apan wala nila makita ang patayng lawas ni Ginoong Jesus. 4Samtang naglibog sila sa nahitabo, sa kalit lang may duha ka lalaki nga nagtindog didto sa ilang duol. Ang ilang mga bisti hilabihan gayod kasulaw. 5Nahadlok gayod ang mga babaye, busa miduko na lang sila. Apan miingon ang duha ka lalaki, “Nganong gipangita man ninyo ang buhi dinhi sa mga patay? Wala siya dinhi. Nabanhaw na siya! 6Dili ba miingon man siya kaninyo samtang didto pa siya sa Galilea, 7nga siya nga Anak sa Tawo kinahanglan itugyan ngadto sa mga makasasala ug ilansang sa krus, apan sa ikatulo ka adlaw mabanhaw siya?” 8Ug unya nahinumdoman sa mga babaye ang gisulti ni Jesus. 9Busa mipauli sila ug gisultihan nila ang 11 ka mga apostoles ug ang uban pang mga tinun-an. 10Ang mga babaye nga misulti sa mga apostoles mao sila si Maria nga taga-Magdala, si Juana, si Maria nga inahan ni Santiago, ug ang uban pang mga babaye. 11Apan wala motuo ang mga apostoles, kay sa ilang huna-huna, tumo-tumo lang kini sa mga babaye. 12Apan si Pedro midagan ngadto sa lubnganan. Pag-abot niya didto miduko siya ug milili sa sulod, ug nakita niya nga ang mga panapton nga giputos sa lawas ni Jesus mao na lang ang nahibilin. Busa mipauli siya nga nahibulong sa nahitabo.
Sa Dalan Paingon sa Emaus
(Mar. 16:12-13)
13Nianang adlawa, may duha ka tinun-an ni Jesus nga nagpadulong sa Emaus nga mga 11 ka kilometro gikan sa Jerusalem. 14-15Samtang naglakaw sila, naghisgot sila mahitungod sa mga panghitabo didto sa Jerusalem. Unya miduol si Jesus ug mikuyog kanila. 16Apan wala sila makaila kaniya kay gipugngan sila sa pag-ila kaniya. 17Miingon si Jesus kanila, “Unsa man ang inyong gipanagsultihan samtang naglakaw kamo?” Mihunong ang duha ug diha sa ilang mga dagway makita nga naguol sila. 18Ang usa kanila nga ginganlan ug Cleopas mitubag, “Basin ikaw lang ang nagabisita sa Jerusalem nga wala makahibalo kon unsa ang mga panghitabo didto niining mga adlawa.” 19Nangutana si Jesus kanila, “Ngano, unsa man ang nahitabo?” Mitubag sila, “Bahin kang Jesus nga taga-Nazaret. Gamhanan siya nga propeta atubangan sa Dios ug sa mga tawo tungod sa iyang mga pagpanudlo ug mga buhat. 20Gisumbong siya sa atong kadagkoan sa mga pari ug sa uban pa natong mga tigdumala aron hukman ug kamatayon. Ug gilansang siya sa krus. 21Naglaom kami nga siya mao na ang among gihulat nga mobawi sa atong nasod nga Israel gikan sa kamot sa mga taga-Roma. Apan ikatulo na ka adlaw karon sukad siya gipatay. 22-23Apan ang nakapatingala kanamo mao ang gisulti sa among mga kauban nga mga babaye nga sa ilang pag-adto didto sa gilubngan kang Jesus, ganihang sayo sa buntag, wala na nila makita ang iyang patayng lawas. Nagsulti usab sila nga may nakita silang mga anghel nga nagaingon kanila nga buhi si Jesus. 24Pagkahuman, ang uban sa among mga kauban miadto usab sa lubnganan, ug ang gisulti sa mga babaye mao usab ang ilang nakita. Wala gayod nila makita si Jesus didto.”
25Unya miingon si Jesus kanila, “Pagkabuang-buang gayod ninyo! Nganong wala man ninyo tuohi ang tanang gisulti sa mga propeta? 26Dili ba kinahanglan man nga mag-antos una ang Cristo niining mga butanga sa dili pa siya pasidunggan sa Dios?” 27Ug gipasabot kanila ni Jesus ang tanang gi-ingon sa Kasulatan mahitungod kaniya, gikan sa mga sinulat ni Moises hangtod sa mga sinulat sa mga propeta.
28Pag-abot nila sa baryo nga ilang adtoan, gipatuo sila ni Jesus nga mopadayon siya sa iyang paglakaw. 29Apan namugos sila nga magpabilin siya uban kanila. Miingon sila, “Dinhi ka lang una kanamo tungod kay hapit na mosalop ang adlaw. Dili madugay gabii na.” Busa miuban siya kanila. 30Samtang nanglingkod na sila sa pagpangaon, mikuha si Jesus ug pan ug nagpasalamat sa Dios. Unya, gipikas-pikas niya kini ug gihatag kanila. 31Ug niadtong higayona giablihan ang ilang panan-aw ug nailhan nila nga si Ginoong Jesus diay kadto, apan sa kalit lang nawala siya sa ilang panan-aw. 32Miingon sila, “Mao diay nga pagkanindot gayod sa atong pagbati sa dihang gipatin-awan niya kita sa Kasulatan kaganina samtang naglakaw kita sa dalan.”
33Unya mibalik dayon sila sa Jerusalem ug naabtan nila ang 11 ka mga apostoles ug ang uban pang mga tinun-an nga nagtigom, 34nga nagaingon, “Tinuod gayod nga nabanhaw ang Ginoo! Nagpakita siya kang Simon.” 35Ug misulti usab ang duha ka lalaki kon unsa ang nahitabo kanila didto sa dalan paingon sa Emaus ug kon sa unsang pamaagi nga nailhan nila si Jesus samtang nagpikas-pikas siya sa pan.
Nagpakita si Jesus sa Iyang mga Sumusunod
(Mat. 28:16-20; Mar. 16:14-18; Juan 20:19-23; Bin. 1:6-8)
36Samtang nagsultihanay pa sila, kalit lang nga nagpakita si Jesus nga nagtindog didto sa ilang taliwala ug miingon, “Ang kalinaw maanaa kaninyo.” 37Gikulbaan ug nahadlok gayod sila kay abi nilag kalag ang ilang nakita. 38Apan miingon si Jesus kanila, “Nganong nasamok kamo? Ug nganong nagaduhaduha kamo nga ako kini? 39Tan-awa ninyo ang agi sa mga lansang sa akong mga kamot ug tiil. Hikapa ninyo ako. Dili ako kalag. Ang kalag walay lawas apan ako may lawas ug makita gayod ninyo.” 40[Pagkahuman niya ug sulti niini gipakita niya kanila ang iyang mga kamot ug mga tiil.] 41Sa ilang dakong kalipay ug katingala morag dili sila makatuo sa ilang nakita. Ug nangutana si Jesus kanila, “May pagkaon ba kamo dinhi?” 42Gihatagan nila siya ug usa ka hiwa nga sinugbang isda. 43Gikuha niya kini ug gikaon samtang nagtan-aw sila.
44Pagkahuman miingon siya kanila, “Mao kini ang akong giingon kaninyo samtang nagkauban pa kita, nga ang tanan nga nahisulat mahitungod kanako sa Kasulatan ni Moises, sa mga sinulat sa mga propeta, ug sa mga salmo kinahanglan gayod nga matuman.” 45Unya gilamdagan ni Jesus ang ilang mga huna-huna aron masabtan nila ang Kasulatan. 46Miingon siya kanila, “Miingon ang Kasulatan nga ang Cristo kinahanglan gayod nga mag-antos ug mamatay, apan mabanhaw siya sa ikatulo ka adlaw. 47Ug kinahanglan nga isulti ngadto sa tibuok kalibotan gikan sa Jerusalem nga tungod kaniya pasayloon sa Dios ang maghinulsol sa ilang mga sala. 48Kamo ang mga saksi niining mga butanga. 49Ipadala ko kaninyo ang Espiritu Santo nga gisaad sa akong Amahan. Apan ayaw una kamo pagbiya dinhi sa Jerusalem samtang wala pa ninyo madawat ang gahom nga gikan sa langit.”
Gibayaw si Jesus ngadto sa Langit
(Mar. 16:19-20; Bin. 1:9-11)
50Unya gidala sila ni Jesus sa Betania. Pag-abot nila didto gibayaw niya ang iyang mga kamot ug gipanalanginan sila. 51Samtang gipanalanginan niya sila inanay nga gibayaw siya ngadto sa langit palayo kanila. 52Gisimba nila siya ug mibalik sila sa Jerusalem nga may dakong kalipay. 53Ug kanunay sila didto sa templo sa pagdayeg sa Dios.
Jesus Rises From the Dead
1It was very early in the morning on the first day of the week. The women took the spices they had prepared. Then they went to the tomb. 2They found the stone rolled away from it. 3When they entered the tomb, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4They were wondering about this. Suddenly two men in clothes as bright as lightning stood beside them. 5The women were terrified. They bowed down with their faces to the ground. Then the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6Jesus is not here! He has risen! Remember how he told you he would rise. It was while he was still with you in Galilee. 7He said, ‘The Son of Man must be handed over to sinful people. He must be nailed to a cross. On the third day he will rise from the dead.’ ” 8Then the women remembered Jesus’ words.
9They came back from the tomb. They told all these things to the 11 apostles and to all the others. 10Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them were the ones who told the apostles. 11But the apostles did not believe the women. Their words didn’t make any sense to them. 12But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. He bent over and saw the strips of linen lying by themselves. Then he went away, wondering what had happened.
On the Road to Emmaus
13That same day two of Jesus’ followers were going to a village called Emmaus. It was about seven miles from Jerusalem. 14They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. 15As they talked about those things, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them. 16But God kept them from recognizing him.
17Jesus asked them, “What are you talking about as you walk along?”
They stood still, and their faces were sad. 18One of them was named Cleopas. He said to Jesus, “Are you the only person visiting Jerusalem who doesn’t know? Don’t you know about the things that have happened there in the last few days?”
19“What things?” Jesus asked.
“About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet. He was powerful in what he said and did in the sight of God and all the people. 20The chief priests and our rulers handed Jesus over to be sentenced to death. They nailed him to a cross. 21But we had hoped that he was the one who was going to set Israel free. Also, it is the third day since all this happened. 22Some of our women amazed us too. Early this morning they went to the tomb. 23But they didn’t find his body. So they came and told us what they had seen. They saw angels, who said Jesus was alive. 24Then some of our friends went to the tomb. They saw it was empty, just as the women had said. They didn’t see Jesus’ body there.”
25Jesus said to them, “How foolish you are! How long it takes you to believe all that the prophets said! 26Didn’t the Messiah have to suffer these things and then receive his glory?” 27Jesus explained to them what was said about himself in all the Scriptures. He began with Moses and all the Prophets.
28They approached the village where they were going. Jesus kept walking as if he were going farther. 29But they tried hard to keep him from leaving. They said, “Stay with us. It is nearly evening. The day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.
30He joined them at the table. Then he took bread and gave thanks. He broke it and began to give it to them. 31Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. But then he disappeared from their sight. 32They said to each other, “He explained to us what the Scriptures meant. Weren’t we excited as he talked with us on the road?”
33They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the 11 disciples and those with them. They were all gathered together. 34They were saying, “It’s true! The Lord has risen! He has appeared to Simon!” 35Then the two of them told what had happened to them on the way. They told how they had recognized Jesus when he broke the bread.
Jesus Appears to the Disciples
36The disciples were still talking about this when Jesus himself suddenly stood among them. He said, “May you have peace!”
37They were surprised and terrified. They thought they were seeing a ghost. 38Jesus said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do you have doubts in your minds? 39Look at my hands and my feet. It’s really me! Touch me and see. A ghost does not have a body or bones. But you can see that I do.”
40After he said that, he showed them his hands and feet. 41But they still did not believe it. They were amazed and filled with joy. So Jesus asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42They gave him a piece of cooked fish. 43He took it and ate it in front of them.
44Jesus said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you. Everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms must come true.”
45Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46He told them, “This is what is written. The Messiah will suffer. He will rise from the dead on the third day. 47His followers will preach in his name. They will tell others to turn away from their sins and be forgiven. People from every nation will hear it, beginning at Jerusalem. 48You have seen these things with your own eyes. 49I am going to send you what my Father has promised. But for now, stay in the city. Stay there until you have received power from heaven.”
Jesus Is Taken Up Into Heaven
50Jesus led his disciples out to the area near Bethany. Then he lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51While he was blessing them, he left them. He was taken up into heaven. 52Then they worshiped him. With great joy, they returned to Jerusalem. 53Every day they went to the temple, praising God.
