6Midugang pag-ingon si Jeremias, “Gisultihan ako sa Ginoo nga 7si Hanamel nga anak ni Shalum nga akong uyoan moanhi kanako ug moingon, ‘Palita ang akong uma sa Anatot, tungod kay ingon nga pinakaduol ko nga paryente, katungod mo ug katungdanan ang pagpalit niini.’
8“Ug sumala sa giingon sa Ginoo, mianhi kanako dinhi sa hawanan sa mga guwardya si Hanamel nga akong ig-agaw. Miingon siya, ‘Palihog, palita ang akong uma sa Anatot, sa kayutaan sa tribo ni Benjamin. May katungod ka ug katungdanan sa paglukat ug pagpanag-iya niini, busa palita kini alang sa imong kaugalingon.’
“Nakaamgo ako nga ang Ginoo gayod ang nagsulti niadto, 9busa gipalit ko ang uma sa Anatot gikan kang Hanamel sa kantidad nga 17 ka buok nga pilak. 10Gipirmahan ko ug giselyohan ang papeles sa pagpalit atubangan sa mga saksi. Unya gitimbang ko dayon ang pilak ug gibayad kang Hanamel. 11Unya gikuha ko ang papeles nga senilyohan ug ang kopya niini nga wala selyohi, diin nasulat ang mga kasabotan sa pagpalit. 12Gihatag ko kini kang Baruc nga anak ni Neria ug apo ni Masea, sa atubangan ni Hanamel nga akong ig-agaw ug sa mga saksi nga namirma sa papeles, ug sa atubangan sa mga Judio nga nanglingkod didto sa hawanan sa mga guwardya.
13“Ug sa atubangan nila giingnan ko si Baruc, 14‘Mao kini ang gisulti sa Ginoo nga Makagagahom, ang Dios sa Israel: Kuhaa ang papeles nga senilyohan ug ang wala selyohi, ug isulod kini sa usa ka kolon aron molungtad kini sulod sa dugayng panahon. 15Kay moabot ang adlaw nga ang mga tawo mamalit na usab ug mga balay, mga uma, ug tamnanan ug ubas niining dapita. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Makagagahom, ang Dios sa Israel, ang nagaingon niini.’ ”
16Pagkahuman ko ug hatag sa papeles kang Baruc nga anak ni Neria, nagaampo dayon ako, 17“O Ginoong Dios, gihimo mo ang langit ug ang kalibotan pinaagi sa imong dakong gahom. Wala gayoy butang nga dili mo mahimo. 18Gipakita mo ang imong gugma sa liboan ka katawhan, apan gisilotan mo ang mga anak tungod sa sala sa ilang mga ginikanan. Ikaw ang Dios nga labing gamhanan; Ginoo nga Makagagahom ang imong ngalan. 19Maayo kaayo ang imong mga plano ug kahibulongan ang imong mga binuhatan. Makita mo ang tanang gihimo sa mga tawo, ug gantihan mo sila sumala sa ilang gawi ug mga binuhatan. 20Naghimo kag mga milagro ug kahibulongang mga butang didto sa Ehipto ug ginabuhat mo kini hangtod karon dinhi sa Israel ug sa ubang mga nasod. Ug pinaagi niini nahimo kang bantogan hangtod karon. 21Pinaagi sa milagro ug kahibulongang mga butang, ug sa imong gahom nga nakapalisang sa mga Ehiptohanon, gipagawas mo gikan sa Ehipto ang imong katawhan nga mga Israelinhon. 22Gihatag mo kanila kining maayo ug mabungahon nga yuta32:22 maayo… yuta: sa Hebreo, yuta nga nagaagas ang gatas ug dugos. nga imong gisaad nga ihatag sa ilang mga katigulangan. 23Gipanag-iyahan nila kini, apan wala sila motuman sa imong mga balaod ug sa tanan mong gipabuhat kanila. Busa gipadad-an mo sila niining mga katalagman. 24Ug karon nagtapok ug yuta ang mga taga-Babilonia sa kilid sa paril sa Jerusalem aron makasaka sila niini ug mailog ang siyudad. Ug tungod sa gira, kagutom, ug balatian, mailog sa mga taga-Babilonia ang siyudad sumala sa imong giingon. 25Apan luyo niini, O Ginoong Dios, gisugo mo ako sa pagpalit ug uma ug bayran kini ug pilak atubangan niining mga saksi, bisan dali nalang kini mailog sa mga taga-Babilonia.”
26Unya miingon ang Ginoo kang Jeremias, 27“Ako ang Ginoo, ang Dios sa tanang katawhan. May butang ba nga dili ko mahimo? 28Busa itugyan ko kini nga siyudad sa kamot sa mga taga-Babilonia ug sa hari nila nga si Nebucadnezar, ug mailog nila kini. 29Sudlon kini ug sunogon sa mga sundalo sa Babilonia nga anaa na sa gawas niining siyudad, apil ang mga balay diin nagasunog ang mga tawo ug insenso alang kang Baal didto sa atop ug nagahalad ug halad nga ilimnon alang sa ubang mga dios, nga nakapasuko gayod kanako.
30“Ako, ang Ginoo, nagaingon nga sukad pa kaniadto, walay laing gihimo ang katawhan sa Israel ug Juda kondili ang pagpakasala. Gipalagot nila ako pinaagi sa ilang mga binuhatan. 31Gikan pa sa pagkatukod niini nga siyudad hangtod karon, gipalagot na ako sa mga lumulupyo niini. Busa laglagon ko gayod kini. 32Gipalagot ako sa katawhan sa Israel ug Juda tungod sa daotan nilang mga binuhatan. Sila gayong tanan—ang ilang mga hari ug mga opisyal, ang ilang mga pari ug mga propeta, ug ang tanang lumulupyo sa Jerusalem ug sa ubang bahin sa Juda. 33Mitalikod sila kanako luyo sa akong pagsigeg tudlo kanila. Dili sila mamati ug dili gustong tudloan. 34Gipanamastamasan nila ang akong templo diin ginapasidunggan ang akong ngalan pinaagi sa pagbutang didto sa mangil-ad nga mga dios-dios. 35Nagpatukod silag mga simbahanan alang kang Baal didto sa Kapatagan sa Ben Hinnom aron paghalad sa ilang mga anak kang Molec. Wala gayod ako magsugo niini kanila. Wala gani ako maghunahuna nga buhaton nila kining mangil-ad nga mga butang nga nahimong hinungdan sa pagpakasala sa katawhan sa Juda.
36“Jeremias, tinuod gayod ang imong32:36 imong: Mao kini sa Septuagint; apan sa Hebreo, inyong. gisulti nga pinaagi sa gira, kagutom, ug balatian mahulog kini nga siyudad sa mga kamot sa hari sa Babilonia. Apan karon moingon ako, ang Ginoo, ang Dios sa Israel, nga 37tigomon ko ang akong katawhan gikan sa tanang dapit diin ko sila gipatibulaag tungod sa labihan kong kasuko kanila. Dad-on ko sila pag-usab niini nga dapit ug magakinabuhi sila nga malinawon. 38Mahimo ko silang katawhan ug ako mahimong ilang Dios. 39Hatagan ko silag usa ka tinguha ug katuyoan sa pagkinabuhi, aron motahod sila kanako sa kanunay alang sa ilang kaugalingong kaayohan ug sa kaayohan sa ilang mga kaliwat. 40Maghimo akog walay kataposang kasabotan, nga dili ako moundang sa paghimog maayo ngadto kanila. Hatagan ko silag tinguha sa pagtahod kanako, aron dili sila mobiya kanako. 41Magakalipay ako sa paghimog maayo ngadto kanila, ug sa tibuok kong kasingkasing papuy-on ko sila ug pauswagon niini nga yuta.”
42Miingon pa gayod ang Ginoo, “Maingon nga gipahamtang ko ang grabing katalagman niini nga katawhan, ihatag ko usab kanila ang mga kaayohan nga akong gisaad kanila. 43Mamalit na usab unya silag mga uma niini nga yuta nga karon inyong giingon nga awaaw ug dili puy-an sa tawo man o mananap, kay gitugyan kini ngadto sa mga taga-Babilonia.
44“Oo, bayran sa mga tawo ug pilak ang mga uma. Maghimo silag mga kasabotan. Pirmahan ug selyohan kini uban sa mga saksi. Mahitabo kini sa kayutaan ni Benjamin, sa mga baryo sa palibot sa Jerusalem, sa mga lungsod sa Juda, sa mga lungsod sa kabukiran, sa mga lungsod sa kasadpan,32:44 kasadpan: sa Hebreo, sa Shefela. ug sa mga lungsod sa Negev. Pabalikon ko ang akong mga katawhan ug pauswagon ko sila pag-usab. Ako, ang Ginoo, ang nagaingon niini.”
1The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar. 2For then the king of Babylon’s army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah’s house. 3For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it; 4And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes; 5And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.
6¶ And Jeremiah said, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 7Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that is in Anathoth: for the right of redemption is thine to buy it. 8So Hanameel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD. 9And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s son, that was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.32.9 seventeen…: or, seven shekels and ten pieces of silver 10And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed it, and took witnesses, and weighed him the money in the balances.32.10 subscribed…: Heb. wrote in the book 11So I took the evidence of the purchase, both that which was sealed according to the law and custom, and that which was open: 12And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle’s son, and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.
13¶ And I charged Baruch before them, saying, 14Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Take these evidences, this evidence of the purchase, both which is sealed, and this evidence which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may continue many days. 15For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
16¶ Now when I had delivered the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed unto the LORD, saying, 17Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:32.17 too…: or, hid from thee 18Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name, 19Great in counsel, and mighty in work: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men: to give every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:32.19 work: Heb. doing 20Which hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day; 21And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with great terror; 22And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey; 23And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them: 24Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.32.24 mounts: or, engines of shot 25And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.32.25 for the: or, though the
26¶ Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying, 27Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? 28Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it: 29And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger. 30For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have only done evil before me from their youth: for the children of Israel have only provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the LORD. 31For this city hath been to me as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face,32.31 a provocation…: Heb. for my anger 32Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 33And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.32.33 back: Heb. neck 34But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it. 35And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
36¶ And now therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence; 37Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: 38And they shall be my people, and I will be their God: 39And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:32.39 for ever: Heb. all days 40And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.32.40 from them: Heb. from after them 41Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.32.41 assuredly: Heb. in truth, or, stability 42For thus saith the LORD; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them. 43And fields shall be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast; it is given into the hand of the Chaldeans. 44Men shall buy fields for money, and subscribe evidences, and seal them, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places about Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south: for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the LORD.
