Ang Mensahe ngadto sa mga Bukid sa Israel
1Miingon ang Ginoo, “Tawo, ingna ang mga bukid sa Israel, ‘O mga bukid sa Israel, pamatia ninyo ang mensahe sa Ginoo. 2Mao kini ang giingon sa Ginoo nga Dios: Miingon ang inyong mga kaaway nga maangkon nila ang inyong mga karaang simbahanan diha sa habog nga mga dapit.’
3“Busa, tawo, ingna ang mga bukid sa Israel nga ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon: Gisulong kamo sa mga nasod nga naggikan sa nagkalain-laing direksyon, ug karon gipanag-iyahan na nila kamo. Gibiaybiay nila kamo ug gipakaulawan. 4-5Busa, kamo nga mga bukid, mga bungtod, mga kapatagan, mga agianan sa tubig, mga dapit nga nangagun-ob, ug mga naawaaw nga lungsod nga gilaglag ug gibiaybiay sa mga nasod sa palibot, pamatia ninyo ang akong isulti. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon nga labihan gyud ang akong kasuko niana nga mga nasod labi na gyud ang Edom, kay giilog nila ang akong yuta uban sa tumang kalipay ug pagbiaybiay, kay buot gyud nila nga maangkon ang mga sabsabanan niini.
6-7“Busa, tawo, sultihi ang yuta sa Israel; ingna ang mga bukid, mga bungtod, mga agianan sa tubig, ug mga kapatagan nga ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon, ‘Nagaantos kamo sa pagpakaulaw kaninyo sa mga nasod sa inyong palibot. Busa tungod sa labihan kong kasuko, ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nanumpa nga mag-antos usab sa kaulaw kana nga mga nasora. 8Apan kamo, mga bukid sa Israel, manubo ang mga kahoy diha kaninyo, ug mamunga kini alang sa akong katawhan nga mga Israelinhon, kay hapit na silang mopauli. 9Pamati! Atimanon ko kamo. Daruhon ko ang inyong yuta ug tamnan. 10Padaghanon ko ang inyong mga nagpuyo—ang tibuok katawhan sa Israel. Tukoron pag-usab ang inyong mga lungsod nga nangaguba, ug puy-an kini sa akong katawhan. 11Padaghanon ko ang inyong mga tawo ug ang inyong mga mananap. Papuy-on ko pag-usab ang mga tawo diha kaninyo sama kaniadto, ug pauswagon ko kamo labaw pa kaysa kaniadto. Unya mahibaloan ninyo nga ako mao ang Ginoo. 12Ibalik ko ang akong katawhan nga mga Israelinhon diha kaninyo. Panag-iyahon nila kamo, ug dili na gyud ninyo kuhaon pag-usab ang ilang mga kabataan.’ ”
13Nagpadayon sa pagsulti ang Ginoo nga Dios, “Nagaingon ang mga tawo kaninyo nga ginapamatay36:13 ginapamatay: sa literal, ginapangaon. Mao usab sa bersikulo 14. ninyo ang inyong mga nagpuyo ug gipamuo ang mga kabataan sa inyong nasod. 14Apan sukad karon, dili na ninyo patyon ang inyong mga nagpuyo ug undangon na ang pagpamuo ug kabataan sa inyong nasod. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini. 15Dili ko na tugotan nga bugalbugalan kamo o pakaulawan sa uban nga mga nasod. Ug dili ko na tugotan nga malaglag ang inyong nasod. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini.”
16Miingon pa gyud ang Ginoo kanako, 17“Tawo, sa dihang nagpuyo pa ang mga Israelinhon sa ilang yuta, gihugawan nila kini pinaagi sa ilang mga binuhatan. Sa akong panan-aw, ang ilang gibuhat sama kahugaw sa babaye nga gidugo. 18Busa gipatagamtam ko kanila ang akong kasuko tungod sa ilang pagpamatay diha sa yuta sa Israel, ug tungod sa ilang pagsimba sa mga dios-dios nga nakahugaw niini nga yutaa. 19Gipatibulaag ko sila ngadto sa uban nga mga nasod. Gihimo ko kanila kon unsay angay sa ilang binuhatan. 20Bisan asang nasod sila moadto, ginapakaulawan nila ang akong balaan nga ngalan. Kay nagaingon ang mga tawo, ‘Mga katawhan sila sa Ginoo, apan gipapahawa niya sila sa ilang yuta.’ 21Nabalaka gyud ako sa akong balaan nga ngalan nga gipakaulawan lang sa katawhan sa Israel bisan asang nasod sila moadto. 22Busa ingna ang katawhan sa Israel nga ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon, ‘O katawhan sa Israel, pabalikon ko kamo sa inyong yuta dili tungod kay angayan kamo sa pagdawat niini. Himuon ko kini tungod sa akong balaang ngalan, nga inyong gipakaulawan bisan asang mga nasod kamo moadto. 23Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon nga ipakita ko ang pagkabalaan sa akong dungganon nga ngalan nga inyong gipakaulawan diha sa mga nasod. Unya mahibaloan nianang mga nasora nga ako mao ang Ginoo kon ipakita ko kanila ang akong pagkabalaan pinaagi sa himuon ko kaninyo. 24Kay kuhaon ko kamo gikan sa nagkalain-laing mga nasod ug ibalik sa inyong kaugalingong yuta. 25Wisikan ko kamo ug limpyo nga tubig aron malimpyohan kamo sa tanang kahugaw, ug dili na kamo mosimba pag-usab sa mga dios-dios. 26Hatagan ko kamo ug bag-ong kasingkasing ug bag-ong espiritu. Ang gahi ninyo nga kasingkasing himuon kong matinumanon nga kasingkasing. 27Hatagan ko usab kamo sa akong Espiritu aron masunod ninyo pag-ayo ang akong mga tulumanon ug mga lagda. 28Magapuyo kamo sa yuta nga gihatag ko sa inyong mga katigulangan. Mahimo ko kamo nga katawhan ug ako mahimo nga inyong Dios. 29Limpyohan ko kamo sa tanan ninyong kahugaw. Hatagan ko kamo ug abunda nga trigo, ug dili na kamo mag-antos sa kagutom. 30Pabungahon kog daghan ang mga kahoy ug padaghanon ko ang inyong mga ani aron dili na kamo maulawan ngadto sa uban nga mga nasod tungod sa kagutom. 31Unya mahinumdoman ninyo ang inyong daotan nga mga gawi ug binuhatan, ug kangil-aran ninyo ang inyong kaugalingon tungod sa inyong mga sala ug mangil-ad nga mga buhat. 32Apan gusto kong mahibaloan ninyo nga wala ko kini himoa alang kaninyo. O katawhan sa Israel, angay kamo nga maulaw sa inyong pagbuhat. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini.’ ”
33Nagpadayon sa pagsulti ang Ginoo nga Dios, “Sa higayon nga malimpyohan ko na kamo sa tanan ninyong mga sala, papuy-on ko kamo pag-usab sa inyong mga lungsod, ug tukoron ninyo pag-usab ang mga nangaguba nga mga dapit. 34Ang yuta nga kaniadto awaaw, pagadaruhon na, ug ang tanang makakita niini 35magaingon, ‘Ang yuta nga kaniadto walay pulos, karon nahisama na sa tanaman sa Eden. Ang mga lungsod nga kaniadto nangaguba ug naawaaw, karon may mga paril na ug ginapuy-an na!’ 36Unya ang nahibilin nga mga nasod sa inyong palibot mahibalo nga ako, ang Ginoo, mao ang nagpatukod sa nangaguba ug nagpatanom sa mga naawaaw nga mga yuta. Ako, ang Ginoo, ang nagaingon niini. Ug himuon ko gyud kini.”
37-38Nagpadayon pa gyud sa pag-ingon ang Ginoo nga Dios, “Dunggon ko usab ang pagpakilooy sa katawhan sa Israel, ug mao kini ang himuon ko kanila: Himuon ko silang sama kadaghan sa panon sa mga karnero nga ginahalad sa Jerusalem panahon sa pista. Busa ang nangaguba nga mga lungsod mapuno na pag-usab sa daghang mga tawo. Unya mahibaloan nila nga ako mao ang Ginoo.”
Hope for the Mountains of Israel
1“Son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say, ‘Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord. 2This is what the Sovereign Lord says: The enemy said of you, “Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession.” ’ 3Therefore prophesy and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because they ravaged and crushed you from every side so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations and the object of people’s malicious talk and slander, 4therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign Lord: This is what the Sovereign Lord says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and the deserted towns that have been plundered and ridiculed by the rest of the nations around you— 5this is what the Sovereign Lord says: In my burning zeal I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, for with glee and with malice in their hearts they made my land their own possession so that they might plunder its pastureland.’ 6Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I speak in my jealous wrath because you have suffered the scorn of the nations. 7Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I swear with uplifted hand that the nations around you will also suffer scorn.
8“ ‘But you, mountains of Israel, will produce branches and fruit for my people Israel, for they will soon come home. 9I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor; you will be plowed and sown, 10and I will cause many people to live on you—yes, all of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. 11I will increase the number of people and animals living on you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the Lord. 12I will cause people, my people Israel, to live on you. They will possess you, and you will be their inheritance; you will never again deprive them of their children.
13“ ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Because some say to you, “You devour people and deprive your nation of its children,” 14therefore you will no longer devour people or make your nation childless, declares the Sovereign Lord. 15No longer will I make you hear the taunts of the nations, and no longer will you suffer the scorn of the peoples or cause your nation to fall, declares the Sovereign Lord.’ ”
Israel’s Restoration Assured
16Again the word of the Lord came to me: 17“Son of man, when the people of Israel were living in their own land, they defiled it by their conduct and their actions. Their conduct was like a woman’s monthly uncleanness in my sight. 18So I poured out my wrath on them because they had shed blood in the land and because they had defiled it with their idols. 19I dispersed them among the nations, and they were scattered through the countries; I judged them according to their conduct and their actions. 20And wherever they went among the nations they profaned my holy name, for it was said of them, ‘These are the Lord’s people, and yet they had to leave his land.’ 21I had concern for my holy name, which the people of Israel profaned among the nations where they had gone.
22“Therefore say to the Israelites, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: It is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone. 23I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Sovereign Lord, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes.
24“ ‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. 25I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 28Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people, and I will be your God. 29I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you. 30I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine. 31Then you will remember your evil ways and wicked deeds, and you will loathe yourselves for your sins and detestable practices. 32I want you to know that I am not doing this for your sake, declares the Sovereign Lord. Be ashamed and disgraced for your conduct, people of Israel!
33“ ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt. 34The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it. 35They will say, “This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited.” 36Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the Lord have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.’
37“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Once again I will yield to Israel’s plea and do this for them: I will make their people as numerous as sheep, 38as numerous as the flocks for offerings at Jerusalem during her appointed festivals. So will the ruined cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”
