1Miingon ang Ginoo kanako, 2“Tawo, pahibaloa ang Jerusalem sa iyang mangil-ad nga mga buhat. 3Ingna siya nga ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios nagaingon, kaniya: Usa ikaw ka Canaanhon! Ang imo nga amahan usa ka Amorihanon, ug ang imo nga inahan usa ka Hitihanon. 4Ug sa imo nga pagkahimugso walay nagputol sa imo nga pusod, walay naghugas kanimo, o naghaplas kanimog asin, o nagputos kanimo ug lampin. 5Wala gyoy nagpakabana sa paghimo niini nga mga butanga diha kanimo; wala gyud nalooy kanimo. Gilabay ka lang hinuon didto sa uma, ug gikasilagan sukad sa adlaw sa imo nga pagkahimugso.
6“ ‘Unya sa diha nga miagi ako duol kanimo, nakita ko ikaw nga naglunang sa kaugalingon mo nga dugo. Giingnan ko ikaw nga mabuhi ka gyud. 7Gipadako ko ikaw sama sa usa ka tanom sa uma. Midako ka ug nahimo nga dalaga. Naporma ang imo nga mga dughan ug mitaas ang imo nga buhok, apan hubo ka lang gihapon.
8“ ‘Sa pag-agi ko pag-usab duol kanimo, nakita ko nga mahimo ka nang pangasaw-on. Busa gitabonan ko sa akong kupo ang imo nga pagkahubo. Nanumpa ako nga mahalon ko ikaw. Naghimo ako ug kasabotan kanimo, ug ikaw naako. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini.
9“ ‘Unya gihugasan ko ang mga dugo sa imo nga lawas, ug gihaplasan ko ikaw ug lana. 10Unya gipasaninaan ko ikaw ug mahalong sanina nga linen ug seda nga binordahan, ug gisul-oban ug panit nga sandalyas. 11Unya gidayandayanan ko ikaw ug mga alahas: mga pulseras ug kuwintas. 12Gidayandayanan ko usab ug singsing ang imo nga ilong, giaritesan ang imo nga mga dalunggan, ug gikoronahan ang imo nga ulo. 13Gipanindot ko ikaw pinaagi sa plata ug bulawan. Ang imo nga sanina linen ug seda nga binordahan. Ang imo nga pagkaon gikan sa maayo nga klase sa harina, dugos, ug lana sa olibo. Labihan ka kanindot, ug daw usa ikaw ka rayna. 14Nahimo kang bantogan sa mga nasod tungod sa labihang kanindot nga akong gihatag kanimo. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini.
15“ ‘Apan nagsalig ka sa imo nga katahom, ug gigamit mo ang imo nga pagkabantogan aron sa pagpamiga. Girepresenta mo ang imo nga kaugalingon sa kang bisan kinsa nga lalaki nga molabay, ug nagpahimulos sila pag-ayo kanimo. 16Gigamit mo ang uban mo nga mga sanina sa pagpanindot sa mga simbahanan diha sa habog nga mga dapit, diin ginahimo mo ang imo nga pagpamiga. Dili gyud unta kana angay nga mahitabo. 17Gigamit mo ang gihatag ko nga mga plata ug mga bulawan nga mga alahas sa paghimog mga dios-dios nga lalaki, ug gisimba mo kini. Sama ra nga ikaw nanglaki! 18Gisaninaan mo kini nga mga dios-dios sa imo nga mga sanina nga binordahan, ug gihalad mo kanila ang akong lana ug insenso. 19Gihalad mo usab kanila ang pagkaon nga gihatag ko kanimo gikan sa maayo nga klase sa harina, dugos, ug lana sa olibo. Gihalad mo kini ingon nga halad nga mahumot. Oo, nahitabo kini. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini.
20“ ‘Gikuha mo usab ang imo nga mga anak nga lalaki ug babaye, nga imo nga mga anak kanako, ug gihalad mo ingon nga pagkaon sa mga dios-dios. Dili pa ba igo ang imo nga pagpamiga? 21Gipamatay mo pa ang akong mga anak ug gihalad ngadto sa mga dios-dios. 22Sa imo nga mangil-ad nga mga buhat ug pagpamiga wala mo gyud hinumdomi kon giunsa ko ikaw pag-atiman sa dihang ikaw batan-on pa, niadtong hubo ka ug naglunang sa imo nga kaugalingong dugo.
23“ ‘Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon nga alaot ka gyud! Gawas sa daotan nimo nga gihimo, 24nagpatindog ka pa gyud ug mga simbahan alang sa imo nga mga dios-dios diha sa mga plasa 25ug sa matag kanto sa kadalanan. Ug didto gihugaw-hugawan mo ang imo nga katahom, ug gihanyag mo ang imo nga kaugalingon sa kang bisan kinsang lalaki nga molabay. Nagkagrabe pa gyud ang imo nga pagpamiga. 26Namiga ka pa sa mga Ehiptohanon nga imo nga silingan nga makihilawason. Nakapasuko gyud kanako ang imo nga padayon nga pagpamiga. 27Busa gisilotan ko ikaw ug gipagamyan ang imo nga teritoryo. Gitugyan ko ikaw ngadto sa imo nga hakog nga mga kaaway nga mga Filistihanon, ug bisan sila natingala sa imo nga daotan nga pagbuhat.
28“ ‘Namiga ka usab sa mga taga-Assyria, kay wala ka pa man gyud matagbaw. Ug human niana, wala ka pa gihapon matagbaw. 29Gidugangan pa gyud nimo ang imo nga pagpamiga kay nakipagkuyog ka usab sa mga taga-Babylon, ang dapit sa mga negosyante, apan wala ka gihapon matagbaw.
30“ ‘Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon nga pagkahuyang mo nga nahimo mo kini nga mga butanga. Sama ka sa usa ka babaye nga baga ug nawong nga nagabaligya sa iyang dungog. 31Nagpatindog kag mga simbahan alang sa imo nga mga dios-dios diha sa mga kanto sa kadalanan ug sa mga plasa. Mas labaw ka pa kadaotan sa mga babaye nga nagabaligya sa ilang dungog tungod kay wala ka magpabayad sa nakighilawas kanimo. 32Usa ikaw ka babaye nga mananapaw! Mas gusto mo pang makighilawas sa laing lalaki kaysa imo nga bana. 33Ang mga babaye nga nagabaligya sa ilang dungog nagapabayad, apan ikaw mao pa hinuon ang nagahatag ug mga gasa sa imo nga mga laki aron sa pag-aghat kanila nga moduol kanimo aron makighilawas. 34Lahi ka kaysa uban nga mga babaye nga nagabaligya ug dungog. Walay manghagad sa pagpakighilawas kanimo; ikaw mismo ang nagapanghagad. Dili ka modawat ug bayad; ikaw pa hinuon ang nagabayad.
35“ ‘Busa, daotan nga babaye, pamatia kini nga akong mensahe. 36Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon: Gipakita mo ang imo nga pagkahubo ug gihatag mo ang imo nga lawas sa imo nga mga laki tungod sa imo nga pagkabigaon. Gisimba mo ang imo nga mangil-ad nga mga dios-dios, ug gipamatay mo ang imo nga mga anak ingon nga halad ngadto kanila. 37Tungod niini, tigomon ko ang tanan mo nga mga laki nga imo nga gikawilihan—ang imo nga gihigugma lakip ang imo nga gikapungtan. Tigomon ko sila aron sa pagkontra kanimo, ug huboan ko ikaw sa ilang atubangan aron makita nila ang imo nga pagkahubo. 38Silotan ko ikaw sa imo nga pagpanapaw ug pagpamatay. Ug sa akong labihan nga kasuko ug pangabugho, patyon ko ikaw. 39Itugyan ko ikaw ngadto sa imo nga mga laki, ug gub-on nila ang imo nga mga simbahanan sa imo nga mga dios-dios. Huboan ka nila ug kuhaon ang matahom mo nga mga alahas, ug biyaan ka nilang hubo. 40Ipasulong ka nila sa tapok sa mga tawo nga maoy mobato kanimo ug motadtad kanimo sa ilang espada. 41Sunogon nila ang imo nga mga balay ug silotan ka nila atubangan sa daghang mga babaye. Undangon ko ang imo nga pagpamiga ug ang imo nga pagbayad sa imo nga mga laki. 42Unya mahuwasan na ako sa akong labihang kasuko kanimo, ug mawala na ang akong pagpangabugho. Mokalma na ako ug dili na masuko.
43“ ‘Gikalimtan mo kon giunsa ko ikaw pag-atiman sa dihang batan-on ka pa. Gipasuko mo hinuon ako sa imo nga gipanghimo. Busa ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, nagaingon nga silotan ko gyud ikaw sumala sa imo nga mga gihimo. Dili ba naghimo ka ug law-ay nga mga buhat dugang sa tanan mo nga mangil-ad nga mga binuhatan?
44“ ‘May mga tawo nga nagasulti niini nga panultihon kanimo: “Kon unsa ang inahan mao usab ang anak.” 45Sama gyud ikaw sa imo nga inahan nga nagtamay sa iyang bana ug sa iyang mga anak. Ug sama ka usab sa imo nga mga igsoong babaye nga nagtamay sa ilang mga bana ug mga anak. Ang imo nga inahan usa ka Hitihanon ug ang imo nga amahan usa ka Amorihanon. 46Ang magulang mo nga babaye mao ang Samaria nga anaa nagapuyo sa amihan uban sa iyang mga anak nga babaye.16:46 iyang mga anak nga babaye: Ang buot ipasabot, ang iyang mga nagpuyo, o, ang mga baryo sa iyang palibot. Mao usab sa bersikulo 48, 49, 53, 55. Ang imo nga manghod nga babaye mao ang Sodoma nga anaa nagapuyo sa habagatan uban sa iyang mga anak nga babaye. 47Gisunod mo ang ilang mga buhat ug ang ilang mangil-ad nga mga buhat. Ug sa mubo lang nga mga panahon milabaw ka pa kadaotan kay kanila. 48Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios nga buhi, nagasulti sa tinuod nga ang Sodoma nga imo nga igsoon ug ang iyang mga anak nga babaye wala makahimo ug sama sa gihimo nimo ug sa imo nga mga anak nga babaye. 49Ang sala sa Sodoma nga imo nga igsoon mao ang pagkamapahitas-on. Siya ug ang iyang mga anak nga babaye abunda sa pagkaon ug hayahay ang panginabuhi, apan wala gyud niya tabangi ang mga pubri ug timawa. 50Sa ilang pagkamapahitas-on naghimo silag mangil-ad nga mga butang sa akong atubangan, busa gilaglag ko sila sa diha nga nakita ko ang ilang gihimo.
51“ ‘Ang Samaria wala makahimo bisan katunga lang sa imo nga nahimo nga mga sala. Mas daghan kag nahimo nga mangil-ad nga mga buhat kaysa imo nga mga igsoon nga babaye, busa mas matarong pa sila kay kanimo tungod sa tanang daotan nga buhat nga imo nga gihimo. 52Angay kang maulaw tungod kay sa imo nga mga sala gipakita mo nga mas daotan ka kaysa imo nga mga igsoon nga babaye. Dawata ang kaulawan kay ikaw na mismo ang nagpakita nga mas matarong pa sila kay kanimo. 53Apan moabot ang panahon nga pauswagon ko pag-usab ang Sodoma ug ang Samaria, apil ang ilang mga anak nga babaye. Ug ikaw pauswagon ko pag-usab apan uban kanila, 54aron maulaw ka sa tanan mo nga gihimo, kay tungod niini migawas nga morag mas maayo sila kay kanimo. 55Oo, mouswag pag-usab ang imo nga mga igsoon nga babaye—nga mao ang Sodoma ug Samaria, lakip ang ilang mga anak nga babaye. Ug mao usab kini ang mahitabo kanimo ug sa imo nga mga anak nga babaye. 56Gitamay mo pa kaniadto ang Sodoma sa panahon sa imo nga pagkamapahitas-on 57ug sa wala pa madayag ang imo nga pagkadaotan. Apan karon sama na ikaw kaniya. Gitamay ka usab sa mga nagpuyo sa Edom16:57 Edom: Mao kini sa Syriac ug sa ibang mga kopya sa Hebreo. Sa kadaghanan nga mga kopya sa Hebreo, sa Septuagint, ug sa Latin Vulgate, Aram. ug sa mga dapit sa palibot niini, ug sa mga lumulupyo sa Filistia ug sa mga dapit sa imo nga palibot. 58Pagaantuson mo ang silot tungod sa imo nga law-ay ug mangil-ad nga mga buhat. Ako, ang Ginoo, ang nagaingon niini.’ ”
59Miingon pa gyud ang Ginoo nga Dios: “Silotan ko ikaw kon unsay angay kanimo, kay gipakawalay-bili mo ang saad pinaagi sa paglapas sa kasabotan. 60Apan tumanon ko sa gihapon ang kasabotan nga akong gihimo kanimo sa batan-on ka pa, ug magahimo ako kanimo ug kasabotan nga magapadayon sa walay kataposan. 61Unya mahinumdoman mo kon unsa ang imo nga gawi kaniadto ug maulaw ka, labi na kon himuon ko ang imo nga mga igsoong babaye, ang Samaria ug Sodoma, nga imo nga mga anak, bisan tuod dili kini sakop sa akong kasabotan kanimo. 62Lig-onon ko ang akong kasabotan kanimo, ug mahibaloan mo nga ako ang Ginoo. 63Mahinumdoman mo ang imo nga mga sala ug maulaw ka, ug dili ka na gyud makatingog sa labihan nga kaulaw kon pasayloon ko na ang tanan mo nga gihimo. Ako, ang Ginoo nga Dios, ang nagaingon niini.”
1Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations, 3And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.16.3 birth: Heb. cutting out, or, habitation 4And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.16.4 to supple…: or, when I looked upon thee 5None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
6¶ And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.16.6 polluted: or, trodden under foot 7I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.16.7 caused…: Heb. made thee a million16.7 excellent…: Heb. ornament of ornaments 8Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine. 9Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.16.9 blood: Heb. bloods 10I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers’ skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk. 11I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck. 12And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.16.12 forehead: Heb. nose 13Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom. 14And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
15¶ But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was. 16And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so. 17Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,16.17 of men: Heb. of a male 18And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them. 19My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.16.19 a sweet…: Heb. a savour of rest 20Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,16.20 to be…: Heb. to devour 21That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them? 22And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood. 23And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;) 24That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.16.24 eminent…: or, brothel house 25Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms. 26Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger. 27Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.16.27 daughters: or, cities 28Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied. 29Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith. 30How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman; 31In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire;16.31 In that thou buildest…: or, In thy daughters is thine, etc 32But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband! 33They give gifts to all whores: but thou givest thy gifts to all thy lovers, and hirest them, that they may come unto thee on every side for thy whoredom.16.33 hirest: Heb. bribest 34And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.
35¶ Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the LORD: 36Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them; 37Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness. 38And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.16.38 as: Heb. with judgments of 39And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.16.39 thy fair…: Heb. instruments of thine ornament 40They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords. 41And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more. 42So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry. 43Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.
44¶ Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter. 45Thou art thy mother’s daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite. 46And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.16.46 thy younger: Heb. lesser than thou 47Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.16.47 as if…: or, that was lothed as a small thing 48As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters. 49Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. 50And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good. 51Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done. 52Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters. 53When I shall bring again their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then will I bring again the captivity of thy captives in the midst of them: 54That thou mayest bear thine own shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, in that thou art a comfort unto them. 55When thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former estate, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former estate, then thou and thy daughters shall return to your former estate. 56For thy sister Sodom was not mentioned by thy mouth in the day of thy pride,16.56 mentioned: Heb. for a report, or, hearing16.56 pride: Heb. prides, or, excellencies 57Before thy wickedness was discovered, as at the time of thy reproach of the daughters of Syria, and all that are round about her, the daughters of the Philistines, which despise thee round about.16.57 Syria: Heb. Aram16.57 despise: or, spoil 58Thou hast borne thy lewdness and thine abominations, saith the LORD.16.58 borne: Heb. borne them 59For thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.
60¶ Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant. 61Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thine elder and thy younger: and I will give them unto thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant. 62And I will establish my covenant with thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: 63That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and never open thy mouth any more because of thy shame, when I am pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord GOD.
