Gidala sa Gezer ang sudlanan sa Kasabotan
(1 Cro. 13:1-14; 15:25–16:6, 43)
1Gitigom na usab ni David ang labing maayong mga sundalo sa Israel, nga 30,000 ang gidaghanon. 2Unya miadto sila sa Baala nga sakop sa Juda aron sa pagkuha sa Kahon sa Dios,6:2 Kahon sa Dios nga mao ang sudlanan sa Kasabotan. diin anaa ang presensya6:2 anaa ang presensya: sa literal, gitawag ang ngalan. sa Ginoo nga Makagagahom. Nagapuyo ang Ginoo taliwala sa mga kerubin diha sa ibabaw sa Kahon. 3-4Ang Kahon sa Dios didto sa balay ni Abinadab sa bungtod. Gikuha kini ni David ug sa iyang mga tawo, ug gikarga sa usa ka bag-ong karomata. Si Uza ug Ahio nga mga anak ni Abinadab mao ang nagagiya sa karomata. Si Ahio ang nagauna sa karomata. 5Nagaselebrar si David ug ang tanan nga katawhan sa Israel sa presensya sa Ginoo sa tibuok nila nga kusog. Nagaawit sila ug nagtukar sa mga harpa, lira, tamborin, kastanitas, ug simbal.
6Sa pag-abot nila sa giokanan ni Nacon, gikab-ot ug gigunitan ni Uza ang Kahon sa Dios, tungod kay napandol ang mga baka. 7Nasuko pag-ayo ang Ginoo kang Uza tungod sa iyang gihimo. Busa gisilotan siya sa Dios ug namatay siya tapad sa Kahon. 8Nasuko si David tungod kay gisilotan sa Ginoo si Uza. Mao kana nga hangtod karon gitawag kadtong dapita ug Perez Uza.6:8 Perez Uza: Ang buot ipasabot, kalit nga kasuko kang Uza. 9Nahadlok si David sa Ginoo niadtong adlawa, ug miingon siya, “Unsaon na lang pagdala sa akong lungsod ang Kahon sa Ginoo?” 10Busa nakahukom siya nga dili na lang niya dad-on ang Kahon sa Ginoo ngadto sa iyang lungsod.6:10 iyang lungsod: sa Hebreo, Lungsod ni David. Mao usab sa bersikulo 12 ug 16. Gibilin hinuon niya kini sa balay ni Obed Edom nga taga-Gat. 11Didto kini sa balay ni Obed Edom sulod sa tulo ka bulan, ug gipanalanginan sa Ginoo si Obed Edom ug ang iyang tibuok panimalay.
12Unya gisuginlan si Haring David nga gipanalanginan sa Ginoo ang panimalay ni Obed Edom ug ang tanan nga gipanag-iya niini tungod sa Kahon sa Dios. Busa miadto si David sa balay ni Obed Edom ug gikuha ang Kahon sa Dios aron dad-on sa iyang lungsod uban sa kalipay. 13Sa dihang nakalakaw na ug unom ka lakang ang mga nagadala sa Kahon sa Ginoo, gipahunong sila ni David ug naghalad siya ug usa ka torong baka ug usa ka pinatambok nga toriyong baka. 14Labihan ang sayaw ni David sa presensya sa Ginoo, nga nagsul-ob lang ug efod nga linen. 15Samtang ginadala niya ug sa mga Israelinhon ang Kahon sa Ginoo, nagahugyaw sila ug nagapatingog sa mga budyong.
16Sa dihang pasulod na ang Kahon sa Ginoo didto sa Lungsod ni David, midungaw si Mical nga anak ni Saul sa bintana. Ug sa dihang nakita niya si Haring David nga naglukso-lukso ug nagsayaw-sayaw sa presensya sa Ginoo, gitamay niya kini. 17Gibutang nila ang Kahon sa Ginoo sulod sa tolda nga gipatindog ni David alang niini. Unya naghalad si David sa Ginoo ug mga halad nga sinunog ug mga halad alang sa maayong relasyon. 18Pagkahuman niyag halad, gibendisyonan niya ang mga tawo sa ngalan sa Ginoo nga Makagagahom. 19Unya gihatagan niya ang matag Israelinhon didto, lalaki ug babaye, ug pan, karne, ug mga pasas. Unya namauli ang mga tawo sa ilang balay.
20Sa dihang mipauli si David sa pagbendisyon sa iyang panimalay, gitagbo siya ni Mical nga anak ni Saul ug gisukmatan, “Pagkahalangdon sa hari sa Israel karong adlawa! Mora siyag buang nga walay kaulaw nga nagsayaw-sayaw nga halos hubo atubangan sa mga babayeng sulugoon sa iyang mga opisyal. Bastos lang nga tawo ang nagahimo niana.” 21Miingon si David kang Mical, “Gihimo ko kadto sa presensya sa Ginoo nga nagpili kanako labaw sa imong amahan o ni bisan kinsa sa iyang panimalay. Gipili niya ako nga modumala sa iyang katawhan nga mga Israelinhon. Busa magapadayon ako sa paglipay sa presensya sa Ginoo, 22ug himuon ko pang mas makauulaw ang akong kaugalingon kay niini. Makauulaw ako sa imong panan-aw,6:22 sa imong panan-aw: Mao kini sa Septuagint; apan sa Hebreo, sa akong panan-aw. apan pasidunggan ako sa mga babayeng sulugoon nga imong giingon.”
23Wala gayod makabaton ug anak si Mical hangtod nga namatay siya.
The ark brought to Jerusalem
1David again brought together all the able young men of Israel – thirty thousand. 2He and all his men went to Baalah6:2 That is, Kiriath Jearim (see 1 Chron. 13:6) in Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name,6:2 Hebrew; Septuagint and Vulgate do not have the Name. the name of the Lord Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim on the ark. 3They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart 4with the ark of God on it,6:3,4 Dead Sea Scrolls and some Septuagint manuscripts; Masoretic Text cart 4 and they brought it with the ark of God from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill and Ahio was walking in front of it. 5David and all Israel were celebrating with all their might before the Lord, with castanets,6:5 Masoretic Text; Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint (see also 1 Chron. 13:8) songs harps, lyres, tambourines, rattles and cymbals.
6When they came to the threshing-floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled. 7The Lord’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God.
8Then David was angry because the Lord’s wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.6:8 Perez Uzzah means the outbreak against Uzzah.
9David was afraid of the Lord that day and said, ‘How can the ark of the Lord ever come to me?’ 10He was not willing to take the ark of the Lord to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. 11The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed him and his entire household.
12Now King David was told, ‘The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.’ So David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with rejoicing. 13When those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. 14Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, 15while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.
16As the ark of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she despised him in her heart.
17They brought the ark of the Lord and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before the Lord. 18After he had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord Almighty. 19Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins to each person in the whole crowd of Israelites, both men and women. And all the people went to their homes.
20When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, ‘How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!’
21David said to Michal, ‘It was before the Lord, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the Lord’s people Israel – I will celebrate before the Lord. 22I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honour.’
23And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
