1Unya miingon si David, “Dinhing dapita tukoron ang templo sa Ginoong Dios ug ang halaran alang sa mga halad nga sinunog sa Israel.”
Ang Pagpangandam alang sa Pagtukod sa Templo
2Nagmando si David nga tigomon ang mga langyaw nga nagapuyo sa Israel, ug nagpili siya gikan kanila ug mga tigtiltil ug mga bato alang sa templo sa Dios. 3Nagaandam si David ug daghan kaayong mga puthaw aron himuong mga lansang ug mga bisagra alang sa mga pultahan. Nagaandam usab siya ug bronsi nga dili na matimbang tungod sa kadaghan. 4Dili usab maihap sa kadaghan ang mga kahoyng sedro nga gipadala sa mga taga-Sidon ug taga-Tyre kaniya. 5Miingon si David, “Batan-on pa ang akong anak nga si Solomon ug wala pa siyay kasinatian. Kinahanglan nga ang templo nga tukoron alang sa Ginoo matahom gayod ug mabantog sa tibuok kalibotan. Pangandaman ko gayod kini.” Busa giandam ni David ang mga materyales samtang buhi pa siya.
6Unya gipatawag ni David ang iyang anak nga si Solomon, ug gitugyan niya kang Solomon ang buluhaton sa pagpatukod sa templo alang sa Ginoo, ang Dios sa Israel. 7Miingon si David kang Solomon, “Anak, buot ko gayod untang magpatukod ug templo alang sa kadungganan sa Ginoo nga akong Dios. 8Apan miingon ang Ginoo kanako: ‘Daghang mga tawo ang imong napatay ug daghang gira ang imong naagian, busa dili ikaw ang motukod ug templo alang sa kadungganan sa akong ngalan. 9Apan may umaabot ka nga anak nga lalaki nga magahari sa kalinaw. Dili ko siya ipasamok sa tanan niyang mga kaaway sa palibot. Solomon22:9 Solomon: Kini nga ngalan mahimong gikan sa Hebreo nga pulong “shalom” nga ang buot ipasabot, “kalinaw.” ang iyang ngalan, ug hatagan ko ug kalinaw ang Israel sa panahon sa iyang paghari. 10Siya mao ang magpatukod ug templo alang sa kadungganan sa akong ngalan. Isipon ko siya nga akong anak ug ako mahimong iyang amahan. Ang iyang mga kaliwat maghari sa Israel hangtod sa kahangtoran.’
11“Busa anak, hinaut nga ang Ginoo magauban kanimo ug magmalampuson ka sa pagtukod sa templo sa Ginoo nga imong Dios, sumala sa iyang gisulti. 12Hinaut nga hatagan ka sa Ginoo sa kaalam ug panabot aron matuman mo ang kasugoan sa Ginoo nga imong Dios sa panahon nga padumalahon ka na niya sa tibuok Israel. 13Kay kon tumanon mo pag-ayo ang mga tulumanon ug mga lagda nga gihatag niya sa Israel pinaagi kang Moises, magmalampuson ka. Busa pagmalig-on ug pagmaisogon. Ayaw kahadlok ni magpakawala ug paglaom. 14Gihagoan ko gayod pag-ayo ang pag-andam sa mga materyales alang sa pagpatukod sa templo sa Ginoo—3,500 ka toneladang bulawan, 35,000 ka toneladang plata, ug bronsi ug puthaw nga dili na matimbang sa kadaghan. Nagaandam usab ako ug mga kahoy ug mga bato, apan kinahanglan mo pa kining dugangan. 15Aduna kay daghang mga trabahante: mga tigtiltil ug bato, mga mason, mga panday, ug mga tawo nga hanas sa mga trabaho nga may kalabotan 16sa bulawan, plata, bronsi, ug puthaw. Karon, sugdi na ang pagpatrabaho, ug hinaut nga ang Ginoo magauban kanimo.”
17Unya gimandoan ni David ang tanang pangulo sa Israel sa pagtabang kang Solomon nga iyang anak. 18Miingon siya kanila, “Kauban ninyo ang Ginoo nga inyong Dios ug gihatagan niya kamo ug kalinaw sa inyong palibot, kay gitugyan na niya kanako ang tanang mga lumulupyo niini nga yuta. Karon iya na kini sa Ginoo ug nasakop na nato nga iyang katawhan. 19Busa karon itugyan ninyo sa Ginoo nga inyong Dios ang tibuok ninyong kasingkasing ug kalag. Sugdi na ninyo ang pagpatukod sa templo sa Ginoong Dios aron madala na ninyo ang sudlanan sa Kasabotan sa Ginoo ug ang sagradong mga kagamitan sa Dios didto sa templo nga pagatukoron alang sa kadungganan sa iyang ngalan.”
1Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel. 2And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God. 3And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight; 4Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David. 5And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.
6¶ Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD God of Israel. 7And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God: 8But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight. 9Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.22.9 Solomon: that is, Peaceable 10He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever. 11Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee. 12Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God. 13Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed. 14Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.22.14 trouble: or, poverty 15Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.22.15 workers…: that is, masons and carpenters 16Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.
17¶ David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, 18Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people. 19Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
