Tercer discurso de Bildad
1A esto respondió Bildad de Súah:
2«Dios es poderoso e infunde temor;
él pone orden en las alturas de los cielos.
3¿Pueden contarse acaso sus ejércitos?
¿Sobre quién no alumbra su luz?
4¿Cómo puede una persona declararse justo ante Dios?
¿Cómo puede alegar pureza quien ha nacido de mujer?
5Si a sus ojos no tiene brillo la luna,
ni son puras las estrellas,
6mucho menos el hombre, simple gusano;
¡mucho menos el hombre, miserable lombriz!».
The Third Speech of Bildad
1Then Bildad the Shuhite replied,
2“God is King. He should be feared.
He establishes peace in the highest parts of heaven.
3Can anyone count his troops?
Is there anyone his light doesn’t shine on?
4How can human beings be right with God?
How can mere people really be pure?
5Even the moon isn’t bright
and the stars aren’t pure in God’s eyes.
6So how about human beings? They are like maggots.
How about mere people? They are like worms.”
