Davids ättlingar

1Kung Davids söner, födda i Hebron hette:Den äldste var Amnon född av hustrun Ahinoam från Jisreel.Hans andre son var Daniel, född av Abigail från Karmel.

Den tredje hette Absalom och var son till Davids hustru Maaka, dotter till kung Talmai i Gesur.Den fjärde var Adonia, född av Haggit.

Den femte var Sefatja, född av Abital.Den sjätte var Jitream, född av Egla.

Dessa sex söner föddes i Hebron, där David regerade i sju år och sex månader.Sedan regerade han från Jerusalem i ytterligare trettiotre år.

Där födde Bat-Seba, Eliams dotter, sönerna Simea, Sobab, Natan och Salomo.

6-8 David fick också nio andra söner, nämligen Jibhar, Elisama, Elifelet, Noga, Nefeg, Jafia, Elisama, Eljada och Elifelet.

Dessutom hade David flera söner med sina bihustrur, och en dotter som hette Tamar.

10-14 Dessa är kung Salomos ättlingar i rakt nedstigande led från sonen Rehabeam till Josia:Abia, Asa, Josafat, Joram, Ahasja, Joas, Amasja, Asarja, Jotam, Ahas, Hiskia, Manasse, Amon och Josia.

15 Josias söner hette:Johanan, Jojakim, Sidkia och Sallum.

16 Jojakims son Jekonja efterträdde honom på tronen. När Jekonja fördes bort till Babylon blev hans farbror Sidkia Judas siste kung.

17-18 Under fångenskapen fick Jekonja sönerna Assir, Sealtiel, Malkiram, Pedaja, Senassar, Jekamja, Hosama och Nedabja.

19-20 Pedaja var far till Serubbabel och Simei.Serubbabels söner hette:Mesullam och Hananja. De hade en syster som hette Selomit. Dessutom var Hasuba, Ohel, Berekja, Hasadja och Jusab-Hesed ättlingar till honom.

21-22 Hananjas söner hette Pelatja och Jesaja och dessutom var Refaja, Arnan, Obadja och Sekanja hans ättlingar.Sekanjas son hette Semaja. Semaja hade sex söner, bland dem Hattus, Jigeal, Baria, Nearja och Safat.

23 Nearja hade tre söner, Eljoenai, Hiskia och Asrikam.

24 Eljoenai hade sju söner, Hodauja, Eljasib, Pelaja, Ackub, Johanan, Delaja och Anani.

The sons of David

1These were the sons of David born to him in Hebron:

the firstborn was Amnon the son of Ahinoam of Jezreel;

the second, Daniel the son of Abigail of Carmel;

the third, Absalom the son of Maakah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur;

the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;

the fifth, Shephatiah the son of Abital;

and the sixth, Ithream, by his wife Eglah.

These six were born to David in Hebron, where he reigned seven years and six months.

David reigned in Jerusalem for thirty-three years, and these were the children born to him there:

Shammua,[a] Shobab, Nathan and Solomon. These four were by Bathsheba[b] daughter of Ammiel. There were also Ibhar, Elishua,[c] Eliphelet, Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, Elishama, Eliada and Eliphelet – nine in all. All these were the sons of David, besides his sons by his concubines. And Tamar was their sister.

10 Solomon’s son was Rehoboam,

Abijah his son,

Asa his son,

Jehoshaphat his son,

11 Jehoram[d] his son,

Ahaziah his son,

Joash his son,

12 Amaziah his son,

Azariah his son,

Jotham his son,

13 Ahaz his son,

Hezekiah his son,

Manasseh his son,

14 Amon his son,

Josiah his son.

15 The sons of Josiah:

Johanan the firstborn,

Jehoiakim the second son,

Zedekiah the third,

Shallum the fourth.

16 The successors of Jehoiakim:

Jehoiachin[e] his son,

and Zedekiah.

The royal line after the exile

17 The descendants of Jehoiachin the captive:

Shealtiel his son, 18 Malkiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama and Nedabiah.

19 The sons of Pedaiah:

Zerubbabel and Shimei.

The sons of Zerubbabel:

Meshullam and Hananiah.

Shelomith was their sister.

20 There were also five others:

Hashubah, Ohel, Berekiah, Hasadiah and Jushab-Hesed.

21 The descendants of Hananiah:

Pelatiah and Jeshaiah, and the sons of Rephaiah, of Arnan, of Obadiah and of Shekaniah.

22 The descendants of Shekaniah:

Shemaiah and his sons:

Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah and Shaphat – six in all.

23 The sons of Neariah:

Elioenai, Hizkiah and Azrikam – three in all.

24 The sons of Elioenai:

Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah and Anani – seven in all.
