1El Señor dijo a Moisés: 2«Si alguien comete una falta y peca contra el Señor al defraudar a su prójimo en algo que se dejó a su cuidado, o si roba u oprime a su prójimo despojándolo de lo que es suyo, 3o si encuentra algo que se perdió y niega tenerlo, o si comete perjurio en alguna de las cosas en que se acostumbra pecar, 4será culpable y deberá devolver lo que haya robado, quitado, lo que se le haya dado a guardar, el objeto perdido que niega tener 5o cualquier otra cosa por la que haya cometido perjurio. Así que deberá restituirlo íntegramente y añadir la quinta parte de su valor. Todo esto lo entregará a su dueño el día que presente su sacrificio por la culpa. 6Llevará al Señor un carnero sin defecto, cuyo precio será fijado como sacrificio por la culpa. Lo presentará al sacerdote, 7quien pedirá perdón ante el Señor por esa persona, y cualquier cosa por la que se haya hecho culpable le será perdonada».
El holocausto
8El Señor dijo a Moisés 9que ordenara a Aarón y a sus hijos: «Esta es la ley respecto al holocausto: El holocausto se dejará arder sobre el altar toda la noche hasta el amanecer y el fuego del altar se mantendrá encendido. 10El sacerdote, vestido con su túnica y su ropa interior de tela de lino, removerá las cenizas del holocausto consumido por el fuego sobre el altar y las echará a un lado del altar. 11Luego se cambiará de ropa y sacará del campamento las cenizas, llevándolas a un lugar ritualmente puro. 12Mientras tanto, el fuego se mantendrá encendido sobre el altar; no deberá apagarse. Cada mañana el sacerdote pondrá más leña sobre el altar, y encima de este colocará el holocausto para quemar en él la grasa del sacrificio de comunión. 13El fuego sobre el altar no deberá apagarse nunca; siempre deberá estar encendido.
La ofrenda de cereal
14»Esta es la ley respecto a la ofrenda de cereal: Los hijos de Aarón la presentarán ante el Señor, delante del altar. 15El sacerdote tomará de la ofrenda un puñado de harina refinada con aceite, así como todo el incienso que está sobre la ofrenda de cereal. Todo esto lo quemará en el altar, como ofrenda memorial de aroma grato al Señor. 16Aarón y sus hijos se comerán el resto de la ofrenda, pero sin levadura y en un lugar santo, que podrá ser el atrio de la Tienda de reunión. 17No se cocerá con levadura, porque esa es la porción que les doy de mis ofrendas puestas al fuego. Es una porción sumamente sagrada, como lo son el sacrificio por el perdón y el sacrificio por la culpa. 18Todos los hijos varones de Aarón podrán comer de ella. Es un estatuto perpetuo para los descendientes de ustedes respecto a las ofrendas puestas al fuego ante el Señor. Cualquier cosa que toque los sacrificios quedará consagrada».
La ofrenda de los sacerdotes
19El Señor dijo a Moisés: 20«Esta es la ofrenda que Aarón y sus hijos deben presentar al Señor el día en que sean ungidos: la décima parte de un efa6:20 Es decir, aprox. 1.6 kg. de harina refinada, como ofrenda regular de cereal. Una mitad de la ofrenda se presentará por la mañana, y la otra mitad por la tarde. 21Se preparará con aceite en una sartén, se llevará amasada y se presentará en porciones, como una ofrenda de cereal de aroma grato al Señor. 22La preparará el hijo de Aarón que lo suceda como sacerdote ungido. Este es un estatuto perpetuo del Señor: la ofrenda se quemará completamente. 23No se comerá ninguna de las ofrendas que presenten los sacerdotes; todas deberán quemarse por completo».
El sacrificio para perdón de pecados
24El Señor ordenó a Moisés 25que dijera a Aarón y a sus hijos: «Esta es la ley respecto al sacrificio para obtener el perdón de pecados: La víctima deberá ser degollada ante el Señor, en el mismo lugar donde se degüellan los animales para el holocausto. Es algo sumamente sagrado. 26El mismo sacerdote que ofrezca el sacrificio por el perdón deberá comérselo. Se lo comerá en un lugar santo, en el atrio de la Tienda de reunión. 27Cualquier cosa que toque la carne del sacrificio quedará consagrada. Si su sangre llega a salpicar algún vestido, este deberá lavarse en un lugar santo. 28Además, deberá romperse la vasija de barro en que se haya cocido el sacrificio; pero, si se cuece en una vasija de bronce, esta se restregará y se enjuagará con agua. 29Todo varón entre los sacerdotes podrá comer del sacrificio. Es algo sumamente sagrado. 30Pero no se comerá ningún sacrificio por el perdón cuya sangre haya sido llevada a la Tienda de reunión para obtener perdón de pecados en el santuario; este sacrificio se consumirá en el fuego.
In Hebrew texts 6:1-7 is numbered 5:20-26, and 6:8-30 is numbered 6:1-23. 1The Lord said to Moses: 2“If anyone sins and is unfaithful to the Lord by deceiving a neighbor about something entrusted to them or left in their care or about something stolen, or if they cheat their neighbor, 3or if they find lost property and lie about it, or if they swear falsely about any such sin that people may commit— 4when they sin in any of these ways and realize their guilt, they must return what they have stolen or taken by extortion, or what was entrusted to them, or the lost property they found, 5or whatever it was they swore falsely about. They must make restitution in full, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the owner on the day they present their guilt offering. 6And as a penalty they must bring to the priest, that is, to the Lord, their guilt offering, a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value. 7In this way the priest will make atonement for them before the Lord, and they will be forgiven for any of the things they did that made them guilty.”
The Burnt Offering
8The Lord said to Moses: 9“Give Aaron and his sons this command: ‘These are the regulations for the burnt offering: The burnt offering is to remain on the altar hearth throughout the night, till morning, and the fire must be kept burning on the altar. 10The priest shall then put on his linen clothes, with linen undergarments next to his body, and shall remove the ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed on the altar and place them beside the altar. 11Then he is to take off these clothes and put on others, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a place that is ceremonially clean. 12The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it. 13The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.
The Grain Offering
14“ ‘These are the regulations for the grain offering: Aaron’s sons are to bring it before the Lord, in front of the altar. 15The priest is to take a handful of the finest flour and some olive oil, together with all the incense on the grain offering, and burn the memorial6:15 Or representative portion on the altar as an aroma pleasing to the Lord. 16Aaron and his sons shall eat the rest of it, but it is to be eaten without yeast in the sanctuary area; they are to eat it in the courtyard of the tent of meeting. 17It must not be baked with yeast; I have given it as their share of the food offerings presented to me. Like the sin offering6:17 Or purification offering; also in verses 25 and 30 and the guilt offering, it is most holy. 18Any male descendant of Aaron may eat it. For all generations to come it is his perpetual share of the food offerings presented to the Lord. Whatever touches them will become holy.6:18 Or Whoever touches them must be holy; similarly in verse 27’ ”
19The Lord also said to Moses, 20“This is the offering Aaron and his sons are to bring to the Lord on the day he6:20 Or each is anointed: a tenth of an ephah6:20 That is, probably about 3 1/2 pounds or about 1.6 kilograms of the finest flour as a regular grain offering, half of it in the morning and half in the evening. 21It must be prepared with oil on a griddle; bring it well-mixed and present the grain offering broken6:21 The meaning of the Hebrew for this word is uncertain. in pieces as an aroma pleasing to the Lord. 22The son who is to succeed him as anointed priest shall prepare it. It is the Lord’s perpetual share and is to be burned completely. 23Every grain offering of a priest shall be burned completely; it must not be eaten.”
The Sin Offering
24The Lord said to Moses, 25“Say to Aaron and his sons: ‘These are the regulations for the sin offering: The sin offering is to be slaughtered before the Lord in the place the burnt offering is slaughtered; it is most holy. 26The priest who offers it shall eat it; it is to be eaten in the sanctuary area, in the courtyard of the tent of meeting. 27Whatever touches any of the flesh will become holy, and if any of the blood is spattered on a garment, you must wash it in the sanctuary area. 28The clay pot the meat is cooked in must be broken; but if it is cooked in a bronze pot, the pot is to be scoured and rinsed with water. 29Any male in a priest’s family may eat it; it is most holy. 30But any sin offering whose blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the Holy Place must not be eaten; it must be burned up.
