Psalms 12:1-8

1Help, Lord, for no-one is faithful anymore;

those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.

2Everyone lies to their neighbour;

they flatter with their lips

but harbour deception in their hearts.

3May the Lord silence all flattering lips

and every boastful tongue –

4those who say,

‘By our tongues we will prevail;

our own lips will defend us – who is lord over us?’

5‘Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan,

I will now arise,’ says the Lord.

‘I will protect them from those who malign them.’

6And the words of the Lord are flawless,

like silver purified in a crucible,

7You, Lord, will keep the needy safe

and will protect us for ever from the wicked,

8who freely strut about

when what is vile is honoured by the human race.

Dawid dwom.

1Boa yɛn, Awurade, na nyamesurofo asa;

nokwafo ayera wɔ nnipa mu.

2Obiara di atoro kyerɛ ne yɔnko;

wɔn ano a ɛdɛfɛdɛfɛ no ka nnaadaasɛm.

3Ma Awurade ntwa nnaadaa ano

ne tɛkrɛma biara a ɛhoahoa ne ho nkyene;

4nea ɛka se, “Yɛde yɛn tɛkrɛma bedi nkonim;

yɛn ano bedi ama yɛn, na hena na odi yɛn so tumi?”

5“Esiane ɔhyɛ a wɔde hyɛ mmɔborɔni

ne ohiani apinisi no nti,

mɛsɔre afei,” Awurade na ose.

“Mɛbɔ wɔn ho ban afi wɔn a wɔhaw wɔn no ho.”

6Awurade asɛm yɛ nokware

te sɛ dwetɛ a wɔasɔn so wɔ fononoo mu,

na wɔahoa ho mpɛn ason.

7Awurade, wobɛkora mmɔborɔni

na woabɔ yɛn ho ban afi saa nnipa yi ho afebɔɔ.

8Amumɔyɛfo nenam sɛnea wɔpɛ,

bere a adesamma de nidi ma afide.
