Psalm 132
A song of ascents.
1Lord, remember David
and all his self-denial.
2He swore an oath to the Lord,
he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3“I will not enter my house
or go to my bed,
4I will allow no sleep to my eyes
or slumber to my eyelids,
5till I find a place for the Lord,
a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
6We heard it in Ephrathah,
we came upon it in the fields of Jaar:132:6 Or heard of it in Ephrathah, / we found it in the fields of Jearim. (See 1 Chron. 13:5,6) (And no quotation marks around verses 7-9)
7“Let us go to his dwelling place,
let us worship at his footstool, saying,
8‘Arise, Lord, and come to your resting place,
you and the ark of your might.
9May your priests be clothed with your righteousness;
may your faithful people sing for joy.’ ”
10For the sake of your servant David,
do not reject your anointed one.
11The Lord swore an oath to David,
a sure oath he will not revoke:
“One of your own descendants
I will place on your throne.
12If your sons keep my covenant
and the statutes I teach them,
then their sons will sit
on your throne for ever and ever.”
13For the Lord has chosen Zion,
he has desired it for his dwelling, saying,
14“This is my resting place for ever and ever;
here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it.
15I will bless her with abundant provisions;
her poor I will satisfy with food.
16I will clothe her priests with salvation,
and her faithful people will ever sing for joy.
17“Here I will make a horn132:17 Horn here symbolizes strong one, that is, king. grow for David
and set up a lamp for my anointed one.
18I will clothe his enemies with shame,
but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown.”

Cántico de los peregrinos.
1Señor, acuérdate de David
y de todas sus penurias.
2Acuérdate de sus juramentos al Señor,
de sus promesas al Poderoso de Jacob:
3«No entraré a mi casa
ni iré a mi cama;
4no me permitiré cerrar los ojos,
ni siquiera el menor pestañeo,
5antes de hallar un lugar para el Señor,
una morada para el Poderoso de Jacob».

7«Vayamos hasta su morada;
postrémonos ante el estrado de sus pies».
8Levántate, Señor; ven a tu lugar de reposo,
tú y tu arca poderosa.
9¡Que se revistan de justicia tus sacerdotes!
¡Que tus fieles canten jubilosos!
10Por amor a David, tu siervo,
no des la espalda a132:10 no des la espalda a. Lit. no vuelvas el rostro de. tu ungido.
11El Señor ha hecho a David
un firme juramento que no revocará:
«A uno de tus propios descendientes
lo pondré en tu trono.
12Si tus hijos cumplen con mi pacto
y con los mandatos que les enseñaré,
también sus descendientes
te sucederán en el trono para siempre».
13El Señor ha escogido a Sión;
su deseo es hacer de este monte su morada:
14«Este será para siempre mi lugar de reposo;
aquí pondré mi trono, porque así lo deseo.
15Bendeciré con creces sus provisiones,
y saciaré de pan a sus pobres.
16Revestiré de salvación a sus sacerdotes
y jubilosos cantarán sus fieles.
17»Aquí haré renacer el poder132:17 poder. Lit. cuerno. de David
y encenderé la lámpara de mi ungido.
18A sus enemigos los cubriré de vergüenza,
pero él lucirá su corona esplendorosa».
