Micah 2:1-13

Human Plans and God’s Plans

1Woe to those who plan iniquity,

to those who plot evil on their beds!

At morning’s light they carry it out

because it is in their power to do it.

2They covet fields and seize them,

and houses, and take them.

They defraud people of their homes,

they rob them of their inheritance.

3Therefore, the Lord says:

“I am planning disaster against this people,

from which you cannot save yourselves.

You will no longer walk proudly,

for it will be a time of calamity.

4In that day people will ridicule you;

they will taunt you with this mournful song:

‘We are utterly ruined;

my people’s possession is divided up.

He takes it from me!

He assigns our fields to traitors.’ ”

5Therefore you will have no one in the assembly of the Lord

to divide the land by lot.

False Prophets

6“Do not prophesy,” their prophets say.

“Do not prophesy about these things;

disgrace will not overtake us.”

7You descendants of Jacob, should it be said,

“Does the Lord become2:7 Or Is the Spirit of the Lord impatient?

Does he do such things?”

“Do not my words do good

to the one whose ways are upright?

8Lately my people have risen up

like an enemy.

You strip off the rich robe

from those who pass by without a care,

like men returning from battle.

9You drive the women of my people

from their pleasant homes.

You take away my blessing

from their children forever.

10Get up, go away!

For this is not your resting place,

because it is defiled,

it is ruined, beyond all remedy.

11If a liar and deceiver comes and says,

‘I will prophesy for you plenty of wine and beer,’

that would be just the prophet for this people!

Deliverance Promised

12“I will surely gather all of you, Jacob;

I will surely bring together the remnant of Israel.

I will bring them together like sheep in a pen,

like a flock in its pasture;

the place will throng with people.

13The One who breaks open the way will go up before them;

they will break through the gate and go out.

Their King will pass through before them,

the Lord at their head.”

Onipa Ne Onyankopɔn Nhyehyɛeɛ

1Nnome nka wɔn a wɔfa amumuyɛ ho adwene,

wɔn a wɔbɔ ɛpɔ bɔne wɔ wɔn mpa so!

Wɔsɔre anɔpa kɔdi dwuma no

ɛfiri sɛ wɔwɔ tumi sɛ wɔyɛ.

2Wɔn ani bere mfuo na wɔgye.

Na afie nso wɔfa.

Wɔde nyansa korɔno gye nkurɔfoɔ afie,

na ayɔnkofoɔ agyapadeɛ nso wɔgye.

3Enti, sɛdeɛ Awurade seɛ nie,

“Meredwene amanehunu a ɛtia saa nkurɔfoɔ yi ho

na worentumi nnyi wo ho mfiri mu.

Worentumi nnante ahantan so bio,

ɛfiri sɛ ɛbɛyɛ ɛberɛ bɔne.

4Saa ɛda no, nnipa bɛsere mo.

Wɔde saa awerɛhoɔ dwom yi

bɛdi mo ho fɛ sɛ:

‘wɔasɛe yɛn koraa;

wɔakyekyɛ me nkurɔfoɔ ahodeɛ mu.

Ɔgye firi me nsa mu!

Na ɔde yɛn mfuo ma akɔnkɔnsafoɔ.’ ”

Awurade asafo mu

a ɔde ntontobɔ bɛkyɛ asase no.

Atorɔ Adiyifoɔ

6“Monnhyɛ nkɔm,” saa na wɔn nkɔmhyɛfoɔ no ka.

“Monnhyɛ saa nneɛma yi ho nkɔm;

animguaseɛ rento yɛn.”

7Ao, Yakob efie, mma monnka nsɛm a ɛte saa.

Awurade Honhom nni boasetɔ?

Ɔyɛ nneɛma a ɛte sei anaa?

“Ne nsɛm nyɛ deɛ nʼakwan tene

no yie anaa?

8Akyire no, me nkurɔfoɔ asɔre

te sɛ asraafoɔ.

Moworɔ ntadeɛ pa firi

wɔn a wɔretwam a wɔnni adwemmɔne biara ho,

ma wɔyɛ te sɛ asraafoɔ a wɔfiri akono.

9Mopam mmaa a wɔwɔ me nkurɔfoɔ mu

firi wɔn afie fɛfɛ mu.

Mogye me nhyira

firi wɔn mma nsam afebɔɔ.

10Sɔre, firi ha kɔ!

Ɛha nyɛ beaeɛ a wɔhome,

ɛfiri sɛ ɛho agu fi,

Wɔasɛe no, na ɛrenyɛ yie bio.

11Sɛ ɔtorofoɔ ne ɔdaadaafoɔ ba bɛka sɛ,

‘Mɛhyɛ nkɔm ama moanya nsã bebree a’

ɔbɛyɛ odiyifoɔ a saa nkurɔfoɔ yi pɛ.

Ɔgyeɛ Ho Bɔhyɛ

12“Mɛboaboa mo nyinaa ano Ao, Yakob;

nokorɛm mɛka Israel nkaeɛfoɔ no nyinaa abɔ mu.

Mɛka wɔn abɔ mu te sɛ nnwan a wɔgu nnwammuo mu,

te sɛ nnwankuo a wɔwɔ adidibea;

nnipa bɛhyɛ beaeɛ ho manyamanya.

13Deɛ ɔbɔ ɛkwan no bɛdi wɔn anim

wɔbɛbu apono no na wɔafiri akɔ.

Wɔn ɔhene bɛsene adi wɔn anim,

Awurade bɛyɛ wɔn ti.”
