Psalm 75 – NIRV & OL

New International Reader’s Version

Psalm 75:1-10

Psalm 75

For the director of music. A psalm of Asaph. A song to the tune of “Do Not Destroy.”

1God, we praise you.

We praise you because you are near to us.

People talk about the wonderful things you have done.

2You say, “I choose the appointed time to judge people.

And I judge them fairly.

3When the earth and all its people tremble,

I keep everything from falling to pieces.

4To the proud I say, ‘Don’t brag anymore.’

To sinners I say, ‘Don’t show off your power.

5Don’t show it off against me.

Don’t talk back to me.’ ”

6No one from east or west or north or south

can judge themselves.

7God is the one who judges.

He says to one person, “You are guilty.”

To another he says, “You are not guilty.”

8In the hand of the Lord is a cup.

It is full of wine mixed with spices.

It is the wine of his anger.

He pours it out. All the evil people on earth

drink it down to the very last drop.

9I will speak about this forever.

I will sing praise to the God of Jacob.

10God says, “I will destroy the power of all sinful people.

But I will make godly people more powerful.”

Salmos 75:1-10

Salmo 75

Salmo e Cântico de Asafe. Segundo a melodia “Não destruas”. Para o diretor do coro.

1Como te estamos gratos, ó Deus!

Como te louvamos!

Os teus poderosos milagres são a prova

de que a força do teu nome atua no nosso meio.

2“Sim!”, responde o Senhor.

“Quando chegar a altura, no lugar determinado,

hei de julgar com toda a justiça.

3Ainda que a Terra trema

e os seus habitantes vivam na confusão,

eu mantenho as suas colunas firmes. (Pausa)

4Disse aos orgulhosos:

‘Parem com a loucura da vossa arrogância!’

E aos perversos:

‘Não levantem a cabeça com insolência!

5Acabem com a vossa atitude altiva!

Não continuem nessa dura obstinação!’ ”

6Porque o progresso e o poder

não vêm do deserto nem das montanhas;

nem do Oriente, nem do Ocidente;

7Deus é o perfeito juiz;

sabe quem deve honrar e quem deve submeter.

8O Senhor tem na mão uma taça de vinho,

vinho amargo e fermentado;
