1And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: 4And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. 5And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. 7Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. 8And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. 9Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. 10And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand. 11He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. 12And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
18For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

いのちの水の川
1それから天使は、いのちの水の川を見せてくれました。それは水晶のように透き通り、神と小羊との王座から流れ出て、 2都の大通りの中央を貫いていました。川の両岸には、十二種の実をつける、いのちの木が生えていました。その木には、それぞれひと月ごとに実がなりました。その葉は、世界中の病気に効く薬草として使われました。
3都の中に、のろわれたものは何一つありません。神と小羊との王座があって、神に仕える者たちが礼拝しています。 4彼らは、神と顔を合わせることができます。またその額には、神の名が書き込まれています。
5都には夜がありません。ですから、明かりも太陽もいりません。神である主が、光そのものだからです。人々は永遠に支配し続けるのです。
6-7天使は、私にこう告げました。「『わたしはすぐに来る』という約束は真実で、信じるべきことばです。預言者に将来の出来事を予告なさった神は、それがいよいよ実現するのを知らせようと、天使をあなたに遣わしたのです。このことを信じ、この書物に記されているすべてを信じる人は幸いです。」
8これらのことを見聞きした私ヨハネは、それらを示してくれた天使の前にひれ伏して、礼拝しようとしました。 9ところが彼は、前と同じように、それを拒みました。「そんなことをしてはいけません。私は、イエスに仕える者にすぎません。あなたや、あなたの兄弟である（信仰を同じくする）預言者たちや、この書物の真理に心をとめるすべての人々と同じ者なのです。ただ、神だけを礼拝しなさい。」
10それから天使は、私に指示しました。「あなたが書きとめたことを隠しておいてはいけません。いよいよ、それらが現実となるからです。 11その時が来ると、不正な者はますます不正を重ね、汚れた者はますます汚れるでしょう。反対に、正しい者はますます正しい行いに励み、きよい者はますますきよくなるのです。」
わたしはすぐに来る
12「ごらんなさい。わたしはすぐに戻って来ます。その時、それぞれの行いにふさわしい報いをもたらします。 13わたしは初めであり、終わりです。最初であり、最後です。」 14都の門から入る資格と、いのちの木の実を食べる権利とを受けたいと願い、自分の衣服を洗う人は幸いです。 15神から離れた者、魔術師、不道徳な者、人殺し、偶像崇拝者、好んで偽りを行う者は、都の外に出されます。
16「わたしイエスは、これらすべてを諸教会に知らせるため、あなたがたに使者を送りました。わたしはダビデの根であり、その子孫です。また、ひときわ輝く明けの明星です。」
17聖霊と花嫁は、「来てください」と言っています。これを聞く人々は、同じように、「来てください」と言いなさい。渇いている人（求めている人）は、だれでも来なさい。そして、いのちの水をただで受けなさい。
18私は、この書物を読むすべての人に、厳かに宣言します。ここに書かれていることに、一語でも書き加える者がいれば、神はその人に、この書物にあるとおりの災いを下されます。 19また反対に、この預言の書物から一語でも取り除く者がいれば、神はその人から、いのちの木の実を食べる権利ばかりか、きよい都に入る権利をも取り上げるでしょう。
20これらを知らせてくださった方が、はっきり宣言します。「そのとおり。わたしはすぐに戻って来ます。」アーメン。主イエスよ、来てください。
21主イエス・キリストの恵みが、あなたがた一同と共にありますように。アーメン。
