Azariah King of Judah
1In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah15:1 Also called Uzziah; also in verses 6, 7, 8, 17, 23 and 27 son of Amaziah king of Judah began to reign. 2He was sixteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem fifty-two years. His mother’s name was Jekoliah; she was from Jerusalem. 3He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Amaziah had done. 4The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.
5The Lord afflicted the king with leprosy15:5 The Hebrew for leprosy was used for various diseases affecting the skin. until the day he died, and he lived in a separate house.15:5 Or in a house where he was relieved of responsibilities Jotham the king’s son had charge of the palace and governed the people of the land.
6As for the other events of Azariah’s reign, and all he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? 7Azariah rested with his ancestors and was buried near them in the City of David. And Jotham his son succeeded him as king.
Zechariah King of Israel
8In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah son of Jeroboam became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned six months. 9He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as his predecessors had done. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit.
10Shallum son of Jabesh conspired against Zechariah. He attacked him in front of the people,15:10 Hebrew; some Septuagint manuscripts in Ibleam assassinated him and succeeded him as king. 11The other events of Zechariah’s reign are written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel. 12So the word of the Lord spoken to Jehu was fulfilled: “Your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation.”15:12 2 Kings 10:30
Shallum King of Israel
13Shallum son of Jabesh became king in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, and he reigned in Samaria one month. 14Then Menahem son of Gadi went from Tirzah up to Samaria. He attacked Shallum son of Jabesh in Samaria, assassinated him and succeeded him as king.
15The other events of Shallum’s reign, and the conspiracy he led, are written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel.
16At that time Menahem, starting out from Tirzah, attacked Tiphsah and everyone in the city and its vicinity, because they refused to open their gates. He sacked Tiphsah and ripped open all the pregnant women.
Menahem King of Israel
17In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem son of Gadi became king of Israel, and he reigned in Samaria ten years. 18He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. During his entire reign he did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit.
19Then Pul15:19 Also called Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria invaded the land, and Menahem gave him a thousand talents15:19 That is, about 38 tons or about 34 metric tons of silver to gain his support and strengthen his own hold on the kingdom. 20Menahem exacted this money from Israel. Every wealthy person had to contribute fifty shekels15:20 That is, about 1 1/4 pounds or about 575 grams of silver to be given to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria withdrew and stayed in the land no longer.

Pekahiah King of Israel
23In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned two years. 24Pekahiah did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit. 25One of his chief officers, Pekah son of Remaliah, conspired against him. Taking fifty men of Gilead with him, he assassinated Pekahiah, along with Argob and Arieh, in the citadel of the royal palace at Samaria. So Pekah killed Pekahiah and succeeded him as king.

Pekah King of Israel
27In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah son of Remaliah became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned twenty years. 28He did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, which he had caused Israel to commit.
29In the time of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maakah, Janoah, Kedesh and Hazor. He took Gilead and Galilee, including all the land of Naphtali, and deported the people to Assyria. 30Then Hoshea son of Elah conspired against Pekah son of Remaliah. He attacked and assassinated him, and then succeeded him as king in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah.

Jotham King of Judah
32In the second year of Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel, Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah began to reign. 33He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. His mother’s name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok. 34He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done. 35The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there. Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the temple of the Lord.
36As for the other events of Jotham’s reign, and what he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? 37(In those days the Lord began to send Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.) 38Jotham rested with his ancestors and was buried with them in the City of David, the city of his father. And Ahaz his son succeeded him as king.
Uzías, rey de Judá

Zacarías, rey de Israel
8En el año treinta y ocho del reinado de Azarías, rey de Judá, Zacarías, hijo de Jeroboán, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel; reinó en Samaria seis meses. 9Zacarías hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, como lo hicieron sus antepasados, pues no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboán, hijo de Nabat, hizo pecar a Israel.
10Salún, hijo de Jabés, conspiró contra Zacarías. Lo atacó ante el pueblo15:10 ante el pueblo (TM); en Ibleam (mss. de LXX). y lo mató, usurpando así el trono. 11Los demás acontecimientos del reinado de Zacarías están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel. 12De este modo, se cumplió la palabra que el Señor le había dado a conocer a Jehú: «Durante cuatro generaciones tus descendientes ocuparán el trono de Israel».15:12 2R 10:30.
Salún, rey de Israel
13Salún, hijo de Jabés, comenzó a reinar en el año treinta y nueve de Uzías,15:13 Uzías. Conocido también como Azarías. rey de Judá, y reinó en Samaria un mes. 14Pero Menajem, hijo de Gadí, llegó de Tirsá a Samaria, y allí atacó a Salún, hijo de Jabés, y lo mató, usurpando así el trono.

16Por aquel tiempo, Menajem atacó la ciudad de Tifsa. Como no le abrieron las puertas de la ciudad, mató a todos los que vivían allí y en los alrededores, comenzando por Tirsá, y les abrió el vientre a las mujeres embarazadas.
Menajem, rey de Israel
17En el año treinta y nueve del reinado de Azarías, rey de Judá, Menajem, hijo de Gadí, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó en Samaria diez años. 18Pero hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, pues durante toda su vida jamás se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboán, hijo de Nabat, hizo pecar a Israel.
19Tiglat Piléser,15:19 Tiglat Piléser. Lit. Pul. rey de Asiria, invadió el país y Menajem le entregó mil talentos15:19 Es decir, aprox. 34 t. de plata para ganar su apoyo y mantenerse en el trono. 20Menajem exigió este dinero a los israelitas: todos los ricos tenían que pagarle al rey de Asiria cincuenta siclos15:20 Es decir, aprox. 575 g. de plata. Entonces el rey de Asiria se retiró y dejó de ocupar el país.

Pecajías, rey de Israel
23En el año cincuenta de Azarías, rey de Judá, Pecajías, hijo de Menajem, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel; reinó en Samaria dos años. 24Pero hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, pues no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboán, hijo de Nabat, hizo pecar a Israel. 25Uno de sus oficiales, que se llamaba Pécaj, hijo de Remalías, conspiró contra él. Apoyado por cincuenta galaaditas, atacó a Pecajías, a Argob y a Arié, en la torre del palacio real en Samaria. Así fue como lo mató y usurpó el trono.

Pécaj, rey de Israel
27En el año cincuenta y dos del reinado de Azarías, rey de Judá, Pécaj, hijo de Remalías, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel; reinó en Samaria veinte años. 28Pero hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, pues no se apartó de los pecados con que Jeroboán, hijo de Nabat, hizo pecar a Israel.
29En tiempos de Pécaj, rey de Israel, Tiglat Piléser, rey de Asiria, invadió el país y conquistó Iyón, Abel Betmacá, Janoa, Cedes, Jazor, Galaad y Galilea, incluyendo todo el territorio de Neftalí; además, deportó a los habitantes a Asiria. 30Entonces Oseas, hijo de Elá, conspiró contra Pécaj, hijo de Remalías, y lo atacó. Así fue como, en el año veinte de Jotán, hijo de Uzías, lo mató y usurpó el trono.

Jotán, rey de Judá
15:33-38 – 2Cr 27:1-4,7-9
32En el segundo año del reinado de Pécaj, hijo de Remalías, rey de Israel, Jotán hijo de Uzías, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar. 33Tenía veinticinco años cuando comenzó a reinar; reinó en Jerusalén dieciséis años. Su madre era Jerusa hija de Sadoc. 34Jotán hizo lo que agrada al Señor, pues en todo siguió el buen ejemplo de su padre Uzías, 35y fue él quien reconstruyó la puerta superior del Templo del Señor. Sin embargo, no se quitaron los altares paganos, sino que el pueblo siguió ofreciendo sacrificios y quemando incienso en ellos.
36Los demás acontecimientos del reinado de Jotán están escritos en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá. 37Durante su reinado, el Señor comenzó a enviar contra Judá a Rezín, rey de Aram, y a Pécaj, hijo de Remalías. 38Cuando Jotán murió, fue sepultado con sus antepasados en la Ciudad de David, su antecesor. Y su hijo Acaz lo sucedió en el trono.
