1Then Job replied:
2“How you have helped the powerless!
How you have saved the arm that is feeble!
3What advice you have offered to one without wisdom!
And what great insight you have displayed!
4Who has helped you utter these words?
And whose spirit spoke from your mouth?
5“The dead are in deep anguish,
those beneath the waters and all that live in them.
6The realm of the dead is naked before God;
Destruction26:6 Hebrew Abaddon lies uncovered.
7He spreads out the northern skies over empty space;
he suspends the earth over nothing.
8He wraps up the waters in his clouds,
yet the clouds do not burst under their weight.
9He covers the face of the full moon,
spreading his clouds over it.
10He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters
for a boundary between light and darkness.
11The pillars of the heavens quake,
aghast at his rebuke.
12By his power he churned up the sea;
by his wisdom he cut Rahab to pieces.
13By his breath the skies became fair;
his hand pierced the gliding serpent.
14And these are but the outer fringe of his works;
how faint the whisper we hear of him!
Who then can understand the thunder of his power?”

1Pero Job intervino:
2«¡Tú sí que ayudas al débil!
¡Tú sí que salvas al que no tiene fuerza!
3¡Qué consejos sabes dar al ignorante!
¡Qué gran discernimiento has demostrado!
4¿Quién te ayudó a pronunciar tal discurso?
¿Qué espíritu ha hablado por tu boca?
5»Un estremecimiento invade a los muertos,
a los que habitan debajo de las aguas.
6Ante Dios, los dominios de la muerte26:6 los dominios de la muerte. Lit. el Seol. quedan al descubierto;
nada hay que oculte el abismo destructor.
7Dios extiende el cielo del norte sobre el vacío;
sobre la nada tiene suspendida la tierra.
8En sus nubes envuelve las aguas,
pero las nubes no se revientan con su peso.
9Cubre la faz de la luna llena
al extender sobre ella sus nubes.
10Dibuja el horizonte sobre la superficie de las aguas
para dividir la luz de las tinieblas.
11Aterrados por su reprensión,
tiemblan los pilares de los cielos.
12Con su poder Dios agita el mar;
con su sabiduría descuartizó a Rahab.
13Un soplo suyo despeja los cielos;
con su mano ensartó a la serpiente escurridiza.

¿Quién podrá comprender su trueno poderoso?».
