“I was born in Iran to a secular Muslim family,” Mike says. “I had to escape when I was 11 or 12, and my parents were kept in Iran by the authorities. I did not see them for 10 years. When they came to California, Mom and Dad had a broken marriage.
“One night Mom had a dream about Jesus. So we visited an Iranian church, and they gave everyone who was there for the first time a white envelope with a Biblica Farsi Bible. I had no idea who Biblica was at the time, and I had no idea there was a Farsi Bible. Because of the dream, Mom started to read the Word of God, and after a week she came out of her isolation transformed. She said she had found peace, and that was the beginning of the healing process of her relationship with my father. Love was back in the house again.
“Slowly but surely, every person in my family came to Christ as a result of my mom’s transformation, and the Farsi Bible was really at the core.”
Today, Dr. Mike Ansari is the president of Heart4Iran, a Biblica partner ministry working to bring the Gospel to the people of Iran, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan. You may have heard us say that Iran is one of the most dangerous countries to be a follower of Jesus, yet it has one of the fastest-growing churches in the world.
“We’re dealing with a serious, serious situation where the true Word of God is scarce in Iran,” Mike says. “When people come to Christ, they need to learn the basics of their faith, but they do not have access to Bibles, and the average church leader has only been in Christ for six months. The church is growing, but the foundation is not as strong. Without Bibles and discipleship, it could collapse in on itself.”
The gift of a single Bible began a journey in Mike’s life that is now reaching thousands of people with the Gospel. With your support to supply Bibles in print and digital formats in Iran, more believers are on their own journey, and more seeking hearts are finding the truth. Thank you!
