Young people today consume information in a completely different way than you and I did at their age. Any time they have a question or want to talk to a friend, any moment they’re bored, out comes the cell phone!
And in our current reality of social distancing and attempting to prevent the spread of COVID-19, most of us are spending more time online.
That’s why we’re working harder than ever to make Biblica resources available in digital and audio formats. Imagine a man walking down a busy street in a country closed to the Gospel, listening to God’s Word privately through his headphones. Imagine a young woman searching for hope and finding that Scripture is available right on her phone, in her own language. Every day, thousands of people are discovering the answers they need on their mobile devices.
One of the most exciting new projects in the works is the Reach4Life app. As I’m sure you know, our Reach4Life youth program is growing rapidly because it helps young people encounter Jesus Christ and provides exactly the answers they need to create a hope-filled, biblical worldview. But the cost of printing and distributing Reach4Life books is slowing that growth, and we’re not able to bring the books into some countries.
The Reach4Life app will be simple and designed to use very little data, to be available even to youth with poor internet access. It will contain all the text and tools of the printed version, and while we’ll launch it in English and Spanish, we’ll continually be adding new languages. I expect this to create explosive growth in the Reach4Life program—and in the number of young people whose lives are transformed.
Your support keeps projects like the Reach4Life app moving forward, taking God’s Word to young people in their online world. Thank you!
