1ด้วยเหตุนี้ข้าพเจ้าเปาโลผู้เป็นนักโทษเพราะเห็นแก่พระเยซูคริสต์เพื่อท่านผู้เป็นคนต่างชาติ
2แน่ทีเดียวท่านทั้งหลายย่อมได้ยินถึงภารกิจแห่งพระคุณของพระเจ้าซึ่งประทานแก่ข้าพเจ้าเพื่อท่านแล้ว 3อันได้แก่ข้อล้ำลึกซึ่งทรงสำแดงแก่ข้าพเจ้าตามที่ข้าพเจ้าได้เขียนไว้ก่อนหน้านี้อย่างย่อๆ 4เมื่อท่านอ่านแล้วจะสามารถเข้าใจถึงความรู้แจ้งของข้าพเจ้าในข้อล้ำลึกของพระคริสต์ 5ซึ่งในยุคก่อนๆ ไม่ได้ทรงเปิดเผยแก่มนุษย์เหมือนที่บัดนี้ทรงสำแดงโดยพระวิญญาณแก่เหล่าอัครทูตและผู้เผยพระวจนะผู้บริสุทธิ์ของพระเจ้า 6ข้อล้ำลึกนี้คือ โดยทางข่าวประเสริฐนั้นคนต่างชาติก็เป็นทายาทร่วมกับชนอิสราเอล เป็นอวัยวะร่วมในกายเดียวกันและเป็นผู้มีส่วนร่วมในพระสัญญาในพระเยซูคริสต์
7ข้าพเจ้าได้เป็นผู้รับใช้แห่งข่าวประเสริฐนี้โดยพระคุณซึ่งพระเจ้าประทานแก่ข้าพเจ้าผ่านทางการทำงานของฤทธิ์อำนาจของพระองค์ 8แม้ข้าพเจ้าต่ำต้อยกว่าผู้เล็กน้อยที่สุดในประชากรทั้งหมดของพระเจ้า ข้าพเจ้าก็ได้รับพระคุณนี้ คือได้ประกาศแก่คนต่างชาติถึงความไพบูลย์อันสุดจะหยั่งได้ของพระคริสต์ 9และได้แสดงให้คนทั้งปวงเห็นถึงภารกิจแห่งข้อล้ำลึกนี้อย่างชัดเจน ซึ่งตลอดยุคที่ผ่านๆ มาได้ถูกปิดซ่อนไว้ในพระเจ้าผู้ทรงสร้างสรรพสิ่ง 10เพื่อบัดนี้เหล่าเทพผู้ครองและเทพผู้ทรงอำนาจในสวรรคสถานจะได้เห็นถึงพระปรีชาญาณอันลึกซึ้งของพระเจ้าผ่านทางคริสตจักร 11ตามพระประสงค์นิรันดร์ของพระองค์ซึ่งได้ทรงกระทำให้สำเร็จในพระเยซูคริสต์เจ้าของเรา 12ในพระองค์และโดยความเชื่อในพระองค์เราจึงเข้ามาหาพระเจ้าได้ด้วยเสรีภาพและความมั่นใจ 13ฉะนั้นข้าพเจ้าจึงขอท่านอย่าท้อใจเนื่องด้วยความทุกข์ยากของข้าพเจ้าเพื่อพวกท่าน ซึ่งเป็นสง่าราศีของท่าน

14ด้วยเหตุนี้ข้าพเจ้าจึงคุกเข่าลงต่อหน้าพระบิดา 15ผู้ทรงเป็นที่มาของนามแห่งตระกูลทั้งมวลของพระองค์3:15 หรือบิดาทั้งมวลในสวรรค์และในแผ่นดินโลก 16ข้าพเจ้าอธิษฐานว่าจากความไพบูลย์อันทรงเกียรติสิริของพระองค์ ขอให้พระองค์ทรงทำให้ท่านเข้มแข็งขึ้นด้วยฤทธานุภาพผ่านทางพระวิญญาณของพระองค์ที่อยู่ภายในท่าน 17เพื่อพระคริสต์จะสถิตในใจของท่านโดยทางความเชื่อ และข้าพเจ้าอธิษฐานว่าเมื่อท่านหยั่งรากและตั้งมั่นคงในความรักแล้ว 18ตัวท่านพร้อมกับประชากรทั้งหมดของพระเจ้าจะได้สามารถหยั่งถึงความรักของพระคริสต์ว่ากว้างยาวสูงลึกปานใด 19และซาบซึ้งในความรักนี้ซึ่งเหนือกว่าความรู้ เพื่อท่านจะบริบูรณ์ด้วยความสมบูรณ์ทั้งสิ้นของพระเจ้า
20บัดนี้ขอเทิดพระเกียรติพระองค์ผู้ทรงสามารถกระทำเกินกว่าที่เราจะทูลขอหรือคาดคิดได้ตามฤทธานุภาพของพระองค์ซึ่งกระทำการอยู่ภายในเรา 21ขอพระเกียรติสิริมีแด่พระองค์ในคริสตจักรและในพระเยซูคริสต์ตลอดทุกชั่วอายุสืบๆ ไปเป็นนิตย์! อาเมน
1For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, 2If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: 3How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: 7Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. 8Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 10To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: 12In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. 13Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. 14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
