ยาโคบไปอียิปต์
1ดังนั้นอิสราเอลจึงออกเดินทางพร้อมด้วยทรัพย์สมบัติทั้งหมด เมื่อมาถึงเมืองเบเออร์เชบาเขาก็ถวายเครื่องบูชาแด่พระเจ้าของอิสอัคบิดาของเขา
2ในตอนกลางคืนพระเจ้าตรัสกับเขาทางนิมิตว่า “ยาโคบ! ยาโคบเอ๋ย!”
ยาโคบทูลว่า “ข้าพระองค์อยู่ที่นี่”
3พระองค์ตรัสว่า “เราคือพระเจ้า พระเจ้าของบิดาเจ้า อย่ากลัวที่จะต้องลงไปอียิปต์ เพราะเราจะให้เจ้าเป็นชนชาติใหญ่ที่นั่น 4เราจะลงไปอียิปต์กับเจ้า และเราจะนำเจ้ากลับมาอีกอย่างแน่นอน และเมื่อเจ้าตาย โยเซฟจะเป็นผู้ปิดตาเจ้า”
5ยาโคบจึงตัดสินใจออกจากเมืองเบเออร์เชบา ลูกๆ ของอิสราเอลได้พายาโคบบิดาของพวกเขา พร้อมด้วยบุตรหลานและภรรยาของตน เดินทางมากับขบวนเกวียนซึ่งฟาโรห์ส่งมารับพวกเขา 6ดังนั้นยาโคบและลูกหลานของเขาเดินทางมายังอียิปต์ พร้อมทั้งฝูงสัตว์และทรัพย์สมบัติที่หาได้ในแผ่นดินคานาอัน 7ยาโคบพาลูกหลานทั้งหมดของเขามายังอียิปต์ คือบุตรชายบุตรสาวและหลานชายหลานสาว
8ต่อไปนี้เป็นรายชื่อบุตรชายของอิสราเอล (ยาโคบและพงศ์พันธุ์ของเขา) ผู้ไปอียิปต์ ได้แก่
รูเบน บุตรชายหัวปีของยาโคบ
9บุตรของรูเบนได้แก่
ฮาโนค ปัลลู เฮสโรน และคารมี
10บุตรของสิเมโอนได้แก่
เยมูเอล ยามีน โอหาด ยาคีน โศหาร์ และชาอูลบุตรชายที่เกิดจากหญิงชาวคานาอัน
11บุตรของเลวีได้แก่
เกอร์โชน โคฮาท และ เมรารี
12บุตรของยูดาห์ได้แก่
เอร์ โอนัน เชลาห์ เปเรศ และเศราห์ (แต่เอร์และโอนันได้สิ้นชีวิตแล้วในคานาอัน)
บุตรของเปเรศได้แก่
เฮสโรน และฮามูล
13บุตรของอิสสาคาร์ได้แก่
โทลา ปูอาห์46:13 ฉบับ MT. ว่าปูวาห์(ดู1พศด.7:1) ยาชูบ46:13 ฉบับ MT. ว่าโยบ(ดูกดว.26:24 และ1พศด.7:1) และชิมโรน
14บุตรของเศบูลุนได้แก่
เสเรด เอโลน และยาเลเอล
15คนเหล่านี้เป็นบุตรชายของนางเลอาห์ซึ่งให้กำเนิดแก่ยาโคบในปัดดานอารัมนอกเหนือจากดีนาห์บุตรี รวมบุตรชายหญิงทั้งสิ้น 33 คน
16บุตรของกาดได้แก่
เซโฟน46:16 ฉบับ MT. ว่าศิฟีโอน(ดูกดว.26:15) ฮักกี ชูนี เอสโบน เอรี อาโรดี และอาเรลี
17บุตรของอาเชอร์ได้แก่
อิมนาห์ อิชวาห์ อิชวี และเบรีอาห์ กับเสราห์น้องสาวของพวกเขา
บุตรของเบรีอาห์คือ
เฮเบอร์และมัลคีเอล
18คนเหล่านี้คือลูกหลานของยาโคบทางสายนางศิลปาห์สาวใช้ของเลอาห์ซึ่งลาบันผู้เป็นบิดายกให้นาง รวมทั้งสิ้น 16 คน

เบลา เบเคอร์ อัชเบล เกรา นาอามาน เอไฮ โรช มัปปิม หุปปิม และอาร์ด
22คนเหล่านี้เป็นบุตรชายของนางราเชลซึ่งให้กำเนิดแก่ยาโคบ รวมทั้งสิ้น 14 คน
23บุตรของดาน ได้แก่
หุชิม
24บุตรของนัฟทาลี ได้แก่
ยาซีเอล กูนี เยเซอร์ และชิลเลม
25คนเหล่านี้คือลูกหลานของยาโคบทางสายนางบิลฮาห์ซึ่งลาบันยกให้แก่ราเชลบุตรีรวมทั้งสิ้น 7 คน
26รวมจำนวนคนที่ไปอียิปต์พร้อมกับยาโคบเฉพาะเลือดเนื้อเชื้อไขแท้ๆ ของเขา ไม่รวมบุตรสะใภ้นับได้ 66 คน 27นับบุตรชายของโยเซฟอีก 2 คน46:27 ฉบับ LXX. ว่าเด็กเก้าคนที่อียิปต์ รวมคนในครอบครัวยาโคบที่ไปอียิปต์มี 70 คน46:27 ฉบับ LXX. ว่ามี 75 คน(ดูอพย.1:5 และกจ.7:14)
28ยาโคบส่งยูดาห์ล่วงหน้าไปหาโยเซฟเพื่อถามทางไปยังโกเชน เมื่อพวกเขามาถึงดินแดนโกเชน 29โยเซฟก็เตรียมรถม้าศึกและขึ้นไปยังโกเชนเพื่อพบบิดา ทันทีที่โยเซฟพบบิดา เขาก็โผเข้ากอดบิดาและร้องไห้เป็นเวลานาน
30อิสราเอลพูดกับโยเซฟว่า “บัดนี้ถ้าเราจะตาย เราก็ตายตาหลับ เพราะเราได้เห็นกับตาว่าเจ้ายังมีชีวิตอยู่”
31โยเซฟจึงบอกพวกพี่น้องและคนในครัวเรือนของบิดาว่า “เราจะขึ้นไปทูลฟาโรห์ว่า ‘บรรดาพี่น้องและคนในครัวเรือนของบิดาของข้าพระบาทที่อาศัยอยู่ในคานาอันได้มาหาข้าพระบาท 32พวกเขาเป็นคนเลี้ยงแกะ พวกเขาเฝ้าดูแลฝูงสัตว์ และได้นำฝูงแพะแกะ ฝูงสัตว์ และข้าวของทุกอย่างมาด้วย’ 33เมื่อฟาโรห์ทรงเรียกพวกท่านเข้าเฝ้าและรับสั่งถามว่า ‘พวกเจ้ามีอาชีพอะไร?’ 34พวกท่านควรตอบว่า ‘ผู้รับใช้ของฝ่าพระบาทเลี้ยงดูฝูงสัตว์มาตั้งแต่เด็กๆ ตามอย่างบรรพบุรุษของเรา’ แล้วพวกท่านจะได้รับอนุญาตให้อาศัยอยู่ในดินแดนโกเชนนี้ เพราะชาวอียิปต์รังเกียจคนเลี้ยงแกะ”
1And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. 2And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. 3And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: 4I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
5And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. 6And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him: 7His sons, and his sons’ sons with him, his daughters, and his sons’ daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
8¶ And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn. 9And the sons of Reuben; Hanoch, and Phallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
10¶ And the sons of Simeon; Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.46.10 Jemuel: or, Nemuel46.10 Jachin: or, Jarib46.10 Zohar: or, Zerah
11¶ And the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.46.11 Gershon: or, Gershom
12¶ And the sons of Judah; Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Pharez, and Zerah: but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamul.

14¶ And the sons of Zebulun; Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel. 15These be the sons of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob in Padan-aram, with his daughter Dinah: all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.

17¶ And the sons of Asher; Jimnah, and Ishuah, and Isui, and Beriah, and Serah their sister: and the sons of Beriah; Heber, and Malchiel. 18These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bare unto Jacob, even sixteen souls. 19The sons of Rachel Jacob’s wife; Joseph, and Benjamin.
20¶ And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.46.20 priest: or, prince
21¶ And the sons of Benjamin were Belah, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.46.21 Ehi: or, Ahiram46.21 Muppim: or, Shupham or, Shuppim46.21 Huppim: or, Hupham 22These are the sons of Rachel, which were born to Jacob: all the souls were fourteen.

24¶ And the sons of Naphtali; Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem. 25These are the sons of Bilhah, which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and she bare these unto Jacob: all the souls were seven. 26All the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his loins, besides Jacob’s sons’ wives, all the souls were threescore and six;46.26 loins: Heb. thigh 27And the sons of Joseph, which were born him in Egypt, were two souls: all the souls of the house of Jacob, which came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
28¶ And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to direct his face unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen. 29And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. 30And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive. 31And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father’s house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father’s house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me; 32And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.46.32 their trade…: Heb. they are men of cattle 33And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation? 34That ye shall say, Thy servants’ trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.
