Zacarias 10:1-12

O Senhor cuidará de Judá

1Peçam ao Senhor chuva na primavera. Ele, que faz os relâmpagos, vos dará bátegas de água. Os campos tornar-se-ão pastagens luxuriantes. 2Que loucura pedir a ídolos coisas como essa! As previsões dos adivinhos são todas um amontoado de mentiras. Que conforto poderá haver em coisas que sabemos não serem verdade? Judá e Israel têm vagueado como ovelhas perdidas; toda a gente os ataca, pois não têm pastor para os defender.

3“A minha ira se acende contra os vossos pastores, os vossos chefes, e castigarei esses bodes. O Senhor dos exércitos veio, enfim, socorrer o seu rebanho de Judá. Torná-los-ei fortes e gloriosos, semelhantes a cavalos de guerra na batalha. 4Deles sairá a pedra fundamental, a estaca principal que dá garantia, o arco da batalha; deles sairão os chefes. 5O povo de Judá será vitorioso como valentes guerreiros que pisam os inimigos na lama das ruas. O Senhor está com eles durante a luta; os seus adversários estão condenados.

6Fortalecerei a casa de Judá e salvarei a casa do José. Tornarei a estabelecê-las, porque as amo. Será como se nunca as tivesse afastado. Eu, o Senhor, seu Deus, ouvirei os seus clamores. 7Os efraimitas serão como valentes guerreiros. Estarão alegres como quem tenha bebido vinho! Os seus filhos verão isso acontecer e muito se alegrarão com aquilo que o Senhor fez. 8Assobiarei para eles e os ajuntarei, porque os resgatei. A partir do pequeno resto que ficou, tornarei a fazê-los crescer até à extensão anterior. 9Ainda que os tenha semeado pelas outras nações, eles se lembrarão de mim em terras remotas. Na companhia dos seus descendentes regressarão à sua pátria, a Israel. 10Farei com que voltem do Egito e da Assíria, para se radicarem novamente em Israel, em Gileade, no Líbano. Será até com dificuldade que todos encontrarão lugar para ficarem! 11Atravessarão em segurança o mar da angústia, as ondas do mar se retirarão para os deixar passar. O Nilo secará e o domínio da Assíria e do Egito sobre o meu povo terminará.”

12Diz assim o Senhor: “O meu povo será fortalecido com a força do meu poder! Irão onde quer que desejarem; para onde quer que forem, estarão sempre sob os meus cuidados.”

Zechariah 10:1-12

1Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.10.1 bright…: or, lightnings 2For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd.10.2 idols: Heb. teraphims10.2 were…: or, answered that, etc 3Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats: for the LORD of hosts hath visited his flock the house of Judah, and hath made them as his goodly horse in the battle.10.3 punished: Heb. visited upon 4Out of him came forth the corner, out of him the nail, out of him the battle bow, out of him every oppressor together.

5¶ And they shall be as mighty men, which tread down their enemies in the mire of the streets in the battle: and they shall fight, because the LORD is with them, and the riders on horses shall be confounded.10.5 the riders…: or, they shall make the riders on horses ashamed 6And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them again to place them; for I have mercy upon them: and they shall be as though I had not cast them off: for I am the LORD their God, and will hear them. 7And they of Ephraim shall be like a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as through wine: yea, their children shall see it, and be glad; their heart shall rejoice in the LORD. 8I will hiss for them, and gather them; for I have redeemed them: and they shall increase as they have increased. 9And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again. 10I will bring them again also out of the land of Egypt, and gather them out of Assyria; and I will bring them into the land of Gilead and Lebanon; and place shall not be found for them. 11And he shall pass through the sea with affliction, and shall smite the waves in the sea, and all the deeps of the river shall dry up: and the pride of Assyria shall be brought down, and the sceptre of Egypt shall depart away. 12And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the LORD.
