Cântico de peregrinação. Salmo de David.
1Fiquei cheio de alegria quando me disseram:
“Vamos subir a Jerusalém, à casa do Senhor!”
2E agora aqui estamos, Jerusalém,
pisando o teu chão, dentro das tuas portas!
3Aqui estamos nesta grande cidade,
tão cheia de gente!
4Todas as tribos de Israel, as tribos do Senhor,
sobem até aqui, conforme o mandamento de Deus,
para dar ao Senhor louvor pelo seu nome!
5É aqui que se encontram os tronos de julgamento,
os tronos da casa de David.
6Orem pela paz de Jerusalém!
Todos os que te amam hão de prosperar na vida.
7Que haja paz no teu interior
e felicidade nas tuas fortalezas!
8É pensando no bem dos meus irmãos e amigos
que repito: “Haja paz no teu meio!”
9É também por causa do templo do Senhor, nosso Deus,
que desejo profundamente o teu bem!
Psalm 122
A song of ascents. Of David.
1I rejoiced with those who said to me,
“Let us go to the house of the Lord.”
2Our feet are standing
in your gates, Jerusalem.
3Jerusalem is built like a city
that is closely compacted together.
4That is where the tribes go up—
the tribes of the Lord—
to praise the name of the Lord
according to the statute given to Israel.
5There stand the thrones for judgment,
the thrones of the house of David.
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May those who love you be secure.
7May there be peace within your walls
and security within your citadels.”
8For the sake of my family and friends,
I will say, “Peace be within you.”
9For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your prosperity.
