1Felizes aqueles que andam por caminhos retos,
que andam de acordo com a Lei do Senhor.
2Felizes os que obedecem aos preceitos de Deus
e que o procuram de todo o coração.
3E também os que não praticam a maldade,
antes andam nos seus caminhos.
4Deste-nos os teus preceitos,
para lhes obedecermos cuidadosamente.
5Tomara que a minha vida fosse dirigida
de molde a que eu pudesse cumprir os teus estatutos!
6Então nunca teria ocasião de ficar envergonhado,

32Senhor, põe em mim cada vez mais vontade de te obedecer;
então hei de andar de acordo com os teus mandamentos.
33Ensina-me, Senhor, o significado dos teus estatutos
e manter-me-ei neles até ao fim da vida.
34Dá-me sempre entendimento para poder obedecer à tua Lei,
pois quero segui-la de todo o coração.
35Faz-me viver de acordo com os teus mandamentos,
porque com eles me sinto bem feliz.
36Inclina os meus desejos à obediência aos teus preceitos

37Não deixes que me atraia pelas coisas efémeras deste mundo,

57Senhor, tu mesmo és tudo quanto eu possuo;
faço o compromisso de obedecer às tuas palavras.
58Desejo, de todo o coração, ter-te ao meu lado;
tem piedade de mim, segundo a tua palavra!
59Pus-me a refletir nos caminhos que tenho trilhado na vida
e decidi conduzir-me segundo os teus testemunhos.
60Sem demora, sem hesitações,
comecei a obedecer aos teus mandamentos.
61Pessoas perversas amarram-me com cordas;
apesar disso, nunca deixei de seguir a tua Lei.
62Se desperto a meio da noite
é para te louvar pelos teus justos decretos.

64A Terra, Senhor, está cheia de provas da tua bondade!

de acordo com as tuas promessas.

agora sigo fielmente a tua palavra.

73Foste tu, Senhor, quem criou o meu corpo
e formou a minha personalidade;
dá-me entendimento para aprender os teus mandamentos.

pois sabem que eu confio na tua palavra.
75Bem sei, Senhor, que os teus decretos são justos;
quando me castigaste, foi prova de que querias o meu bem.

77Que a tua compaixão me envolva, para que continue a viver

pois tratam-me de forma perversa, sem justificação!
Mas eu continuarei a concentrar-me nos teus preceitos.
79Juntem-se a mim todos os que te temem
e conhecem os teus testemunhos.
80Que o meu coração seja sempre íntegro aos teus estatutos,
para que nunca venha a haver razão de ficar envergonhado.
81É verdade que me senti desesperado,
enquanto esperava pela tua salvação.
Apesar de tudo, continuei confiado na tua palavra.
82Cansei-me de procurar ver o fim da provação,
esperando pela tua promessa.
Ia dizendo: “Quando virás consolar-me?”
83Fiquei envelhecido como um odre de vinho exposto à fumaça,
cansado de esperar;
no entanto, não me esqueço dos teus estatutos.
84Por quanto tempo terei ainda de esperar?
Quando farás justiça contra os que me perseguem?
85Gente má e arrogante abriu covas para que caísse nelas,
porque não se comportam segundo a tua Lei.
86Os teus mandamentos são a verdade
e eles perseguem-me com mentiras.
Portanto, ajuda-me!
87Eles quase conseguiram acabar comigo,
mas nunca abandonei os teus preceitos.
88Fortalece-me segundo a tua bondade,
para poder obedecer aos preceitos que me deste.
89A tua palavra, Senhor, permanece para sempre,
imutável nos céus.
90A tua fidelidade estende-se a cada geração,
com a mesma firmeza com que a Terra permanece.
91Tudo se mantém, até hoje, segundo as tuas ordens;
todas as coisas te servem.
92Se a tua Lei não fosse a minha felicidade,
há muito que já teria morrido de angústia.
93Nunca me hei de esquecer dos teus preceitos,
pois por eles me tens dado uma vida nova.

Porque sempre tenho buscado os teus preceitos.
95Gente perversa arma-me ciladas para me destruir,
mas eu nunca deixarei de atentar para os teus testemunhos.

98Os teus mandamentos tornam-me mais sábio que os meus adversários,
pois eles são o meu guia constante.
99Sim, sou também mais sábio do que todos os meus mestres,
porque estou sempre a pensar nos teus preceitos.
100Sou também mais sabedor do que os anciãos,
porque obedeço e guardo os teus preceitos.
101Desviei os meus pés de todo o caminho mau,
pois pretendo permanecer obediente à tua palavra.
102Não, eu não me desviei dos teus decretos,
porque és tu quem me ensina.
103Como são doces as tuas palavras na minha boca;
mais doces do que o próprio mel!
104Sendo que foi só por meio dos teus preceitos
que alcancei entendimento,
por isso recuso tudo o que seja falso ensinamento.
105A tua palavra é como uma lâmpada
que de noite ilumina o meu caminho.
106Já disse isto uma vez e torno a repetir:
“Hei de seguir o caminho dos teus justos decretos.”
107Senhor, sabes como estou aflito;
dá-me uma vida nova, segundo a tua palavra!
108Rogo-te, Senhor, que aceites a expressão do meu louvor
e que me ensines os teus decretos.
109A minha vida está constantemente em perigo;
contudo, isso não me fará esquecer a tua Lei.
110Os ímpios põem laços no meu caminho;
mas tal nunca fez com que me desviasse dos teus preceitos.
111Os teus preceitos são a minha herança;
sê-lo-ão para sempre, pois enchem-me de alegria.

113Detesto os que não tomam uma posição firme em Deus;

e pela promessa da tua justiça.

porque desprezam a tua palavra.

161Os governantes perseguem-me injustamente,

mas amo profundamente a tua Lei.
164Sete vezes por dia te louvo,
por causa dos teus justos decretos.
