1Esta é a lista dos reis da margem oriental do rio Jordão, cujas cidades foram destruídas pelos israelitas; uma área que ia desde o vale do rio Arnom até ao monte Hermon, incluindo as cidades do deserto oriental.
2Um deles era o rei Siom dos amorreus, que vivia em Hesbom. O seu reino cobria o território que tinha por limite, dum lado Aroer, mesmo na extremidade do vale de Arnom, e a meio da depressão cavada pelo rio Arnom, e do outro lado o rio Jaboque até metade de Gileade, que servia de fronteira com os amonitas. 3Portanto, inclui desde a planície até ao mar da Galileia, do lado oriental, até ao mar da planície, o mar Salgado, estendendo-se em direção a Bete-Jesimote, a sul, até às encostas do monte Pisga.
4Outro era o rei Ogue de Basã, o último dos refaítas, que vivia em Astarote e Edrei. 5Era ele quem governava aquele território que se estendia do monte Hermon a norte, até Salca no monte Basã, a oriente; a ocidente ia até aos limites dos reinos de Gesur e Maacá. O seu reino cobria também uma área a sul, que incluía a metade norte de Gileade, onde a fronteira tocava os limites do reino de Siom rei de Hesbom. 6Moisés e o povo de Israel tinham destruído esses povos e a terra tinha sido dada à tribo de Rúben, à tribo de Gad e à meia tribo de Manassés.
7Foram ainda os seguintes reinos que Josué, comandando o exército de Israel, destruiu a ocidente do Jordão. (Essa terra que fica entre Baal-Gad no vale do Líbano e o monte Halaque, a ocidente do monte Seir, foi dada por Josué às outras tribos de Israel. 8Essa área incluía a zona das colinas, as planuras, o Arabá, as vertentes na montanha, o deserto da Judeia e o Negueve. Os povos que lá viviam eram os hititas, os amorreus, os cananeus, os perizeus, os heveus e os jebuseus.)

List of defeated kings
1These are the kings of the land whom the Israelites had defeated and whose territory they took over east of the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon, including all the eastern side of the Arabah:
2Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon.
He ruled from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge – from the middle of the gorge – to the River Jabbok, which is the border of the Ammonites. This included half of Gilead.
3He also ruled over the eastern Arabah from the Sea of Galilee12:3 Hebrew Kinnereth to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea), to Beth Jeshimoth, and then southward below the slopes of Pisgah.
4And the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of the last of the Rephaites, who reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei.
5He ruled over Mount Hermon, Salekah, all of Bashan to the border of the people of Geshur and Maakah, and half of Gilead to the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.
6Moses, the servant of the Lord, and the Israelites conquered them. And Moses the servant of the Lord gave their land to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh to be their possession.
7Here is a list of the kings of the land that Joshua and the Israelites conquered on the west side of the Jordan, from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak, which rises towards Seir. Joshua gave their lands as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel according to their tribal divisions. 8The lands included the hill country, the western foothills, the Arabah, the mountain slopes, the wilderness and the Negev. These were the lands of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.
