As instruções sobre o sábado
1Moisés convocou todo o povo de Israel e disse-lhes: “Estas são as leis do Senhor a que devem obedecer.
2Trabalharão apenas seis dias. O sétimo é um dia de solene repouso, um dia santo. Todo aquele que trabalhar nesse dia deverá morrer. 3Nem sequer acendam o fogo nas vossas casas nesse dia.”
Ofertas para o tabernáculo
(Êx 25.1-9; 39.32-43)
4E continuou: “Isto é o que o Senhor vos ordenou: 5Todos os que tiverem um coração generoso podem trazer, se assim o desejarem, estas ofertas ao Senhor:
ouro, prata, bronze;
6tecido azul, púrpura e vermelho, feito de linho fino retorcido ou de pelo de cabra;
7peles de carneiro tingidas de vermelho e curtidas, assim como, especialmente, peles de couro fino; madeira de acácia;
8azeite para os candeeiros; especiarias para o óleo da unção e para o incenso aromático;
9pedras de ónix, e pedras para serem usadas no éfode e no peitoral.
10Que todos aqueles que são habilidosos no trabalho manual, e os que têm talentos especiais, venham para construir o que o Senhor mandou:
11o tabernáculo, as suas cobertas, colchetes, tábuas, barras, colunas e bases;
12a arca e as varas de transporte; o propiciatório; o véu para separar o lugar santo;
13a mesa e as varas para transportá-la, assim como os seus utensílios; o pão da Presença,
14o candelabro, com as lâmpadas e o óleo respetivo;
15o altar do incenso e as varas de transporte; o óleo da unção e o incenso aromático; o véu da porta do tabernáculo;
16o altar dos holocaustos; as grelhas de bronze para o altar e as suas respetivas varas e utensílios; a bacia e a sua base;
17os véus das divisórias do pátio e as suas colunas e bases; os véus da entrada do pátio;
18as estacas do pátio do tabernáculo mais as suas cordas;
19os fatos dos sacerdotes, para usarem no ministério do lugar santo; as vestimentas santas para Aarão e os seus filhos.”
20Todo o povo saiu da presença de Moisés e foi para as tendas preparar estes donativos, 21e todos aqueles que sentiram boa vontade e coração generoso foram levar a sua oferta ao Senhor para a construção da tenda do encontro, bem como para as vestimentas sagradas. 22Tanto homens como mulheres, vieram todos aqueles que dispuseram o seu coração para tal. Assim trouxeram ao Senhor ofertas de ouro, pedras preciosas, brincos, anéis e colares e toda a espécie de objetos em ouro, com um gesto de apresentação cerimonial. 23Outros trouxeram tecidos de linho fino retorcido, ou pelos de cabra, em azul, púrpura e vermelho, assim como peles de carneiro tingidas de vermelho, especialmente peles de couro fino. 24Outros ainda trouxeram prata e bronze como oferta para o Senhor. Por fim houve quem trouxesse madeira de acácia necessária para a construção.
25As mulheres hábeis a fiar e coser trouxeram já preparado fio e tecido, e linho fino retorcido em azul, púrpura e vermelho. 26Outras usaram com alegria os seus dons especiais para fiar e fazer tecido de pelo de cabra. 27Os chefes trouxeram pedras de ónix para serem postas no éfode e no peitoral, 28assim como especiarias e óleo, tanto para as luzes, como para a composição do óleo da unção e do incenso aromático. 29E foi desta maneira que o povo de Israel, todos os homens e mulheres que quiseram colaborar na obra que lhes foi dada por mandamento do Senhor a Moisés, trouxeram de livre vontade as suas ofertas ao Senhor.
Os chefes do projeto
(Êx 31.1-11)
30E Moisés disse-lhes: “O Senhor designou especialmente Bezalel, filho de Uri e neto de Hur, da tribo de Judá, como superintendente-geral deste santo projeto. 31O Espírito de Deus encheu-o de sabedoria, capacidade e conhecimentos para a construção do tabernáculo e de tudo o que deve conter. 32Ele está, pois, altamente dotado como artista e desenhador de todas as peças feitas em ouro, prata e bronze. 33Será capaz de trabalhar pedras preciosas e tal como um joalheiro fará também belas gravações. Na verdade é um homem dotado para tudo.
34Deus também dispôs o coração dele e de Aoliabe para ensinarem a outros aquilo que sabem. Aoliabe é filho de Aisamaque da tribo de Dan. 35Deus encheu-os a ambos com um talento pouco vulgar para serem joalheiros, carpinteiros, bordadores em linho e tecidos de azul, púrpura e vermelho, e ainda tecelãos. Eles serão excelentes em todas as tarefas que é preciso executar para esta obra.
Rules for the Sabbath Day
1Moses gathered the whole community of Israel together. He said to them, “Here are the things the Lord has commanded you to do. 2You must do your work in six days. But the seventh day will be your holy day. It will be a day of sabbath rest to honor the Lord. You must rest on it. Anyone who does any work on it must be put to death. 3Do not even light a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath day.”
Supplies for the Holy Tent
4Moses spoke to the whole community of Israel. He said, “Here is what the Lord has commanded. 5Take an offering for the Lord from what you have. Those who want to can bring an offering to the Lord. Here is what they can bring.
“gold, silver and bronze
6blue, purple and bright red yarn and fine linen
goat hair
7ram skins that are dyed red
another kind of strong leather
acacia wood
8olive oil for the lights
spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet-smelling incense
9onyx stones and other jewels for the linen apron and the chest cloth
10“All the skilled workers among you must come. They must make everything the Lord has commanded 11for the holy tent and its covering. Here is what they must make.
“hooks, frames, crossbars, posts and bases
12the ark of the covenant law, the poles and cover for the ark, and the curtain that hides the ark
13the table for the holy bread, the poles and all the things for the table, and the holy bread
14the lampstand for light and everything used with it, the lamps, and the olive oil that gives light
15the altar for burning incense, the poles for the altar, the anointing oil and the sweet-smelling incense
the curtain for the entrance to the holy tent
16the altar for burnt offerings with its bronze grate, its poles and all its tools
the large bronze bowl with its stand
17the curtains of the courtyard with their posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard
18the ropes and tent stakes for the holy tent and for the courtyard
19and the sacred clothes for Aaron the priest and the clothes for his sons when they serve as priests”
20Then the whole community of Israel left Moses. 21Everyone who wanted to give offerings to the Lord brought them to him. The offerings were for the work on the tent of meeting. They were also for the sacred clothes and for any other purpose at the tent. 22Every man and woman who wanted to give came. They brought gold jewelry of all kinds. They brought pins, earrings, rings and other jewelry. All of them gave their gold as a wave offering to the Lord. 23People brought what they had. They brought blue, purple or bright red yarn or fine linen. They brought goat hair, ram skins dyed red, or the other kind of strong leather. 24Some brought silver or bronze as an offering to the Lord. Others brought acacia wood for any part of the work. 25All the skilled women spun yarn with their hands. They brought blue, purple or bright red yarn or fine linen. 26All the skilled women who wanted to spin the goat hair did so. 27The leaders brought onyx stones and other jewels for the linen apron and the chest cloth. 28They also brought spices and olive oil. They brought them for the light, for the anointing oil, and for the sweet-smelling incense. 29All the men and women of Israel who wanted to bring offerings to the Lord brought them to him. The offerings were for all the work the Lord had commanded Moses to tell them to do.
Bezalel and Oholiab
30Then Moses spoke to the people of Israel. He said, “The Lord has chosen Bezalel, the son of Uri. Uri is the son of Hur. Bezalel is from the tribe of Judah. 31The Lord has filled him with the Spirit of God. He has filled him with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skill. 32Bezalel can make beautiful patterns in gold, silver and bronze. 33He can cut and set stones. He can work with wood. In fact, he can work in all kinds of arts and crafts. 34And the Lord has given both him and Oholiab the ability to teach others. Oholiab, the son of Ahisamak, is from the tribe of Dan. 35The Lord has filled Bezalel and Oholiab with skill to do all kinds of work. They can carve things and make patterns. They can sew skillfully with blue, purple and bright red yarn and on fine linen. They use thread to make beautiful cloth. Both of them have the skill to work in all kinds of crafts.
